Wests Tigers fan, sporting fanatic, "be happy because the other options suck"

I can’t read this article as the add for Kayo makes the whole background black. I’m sure it is interesting but literally can’t read a word because of the ad

An open letter to the Wests Tigers and the NRL

i know that these issues have cost the NRL around $3m a year in sponsorship and another couple in activation and thats just one that I personally know of. Thats $5m a year taken away from Junior Rugby League. The dragons must be very close to loosing a sponsor or 2 but at least the next deals will be significantly lower in $$ value because of Jack. For taking the NRL to court on this matter he should never play rep footy again whether guilty or not guilty (no court finds you innocent and cheating on your pregnant partner is enough for me to be happy to never see him play again).

De Belin and NRL set for Federal Court showdown yet the Dragons must make the call

Nrl does have it or at least closer he then it does to a round robin.

Time for administrators to wake up on failing Super Rugby: Wessels

Well at least when he breaks up with the crazy woman he womt have to pay a full years maitenance.

Well one of the old magpie loonies learnt how to use a laptop – and they say the education system is failing us. Sadly it gets worse from thier. Lets look at some real live facts then and some myths that are just perpetuated by the Magpie loonies from the south. Campbelltown crowds over the years have averaged 9362, with last year a massive 9945 so not much off the long term average despite this boom in population.

As for this Wests Tigers was/is just a rebadged Balmain – the number of games have always been equally been shared between the clubs, the clubs training centre is at the origional home of the Wests Magpies, the jersey has always had a Magpie on it but never a Balmain logo, extra games such a trials have always been predominatley at Campbelltown and Camden much closer to Magpies world then Balmain, Wests are now the majority owners but it is Wests Ashfield (which has both Tigers and Magpies logo’s adorning it) as Cambelltown stopped putting in money well before Balmain did.

Now for this population thing – Yes the population of Campbelltown is booming so that by 2036 the Cambelltown Council will still be smaller then the Inner West Council. What the inner west has going for it is that it is still close to many other council areas so the overall population will still be massively more then those within 15-20mins of Cambelltown which is a long way from almost everyone else other then Cambelltown. Also the growing population is from migration and migration alone with more people from Australia leaving Cambelltown then moving too it which is fine in itself but the game and definatly the Magpies have never shown much ability to engage migrant communities other then by the Wests Tigers.

I could go on and on but let it be enough to say I hope this ridiculous idea that Cambelltown could support its own NRL team or should split with the Wests Tigers any time soon is either possible or even a good idea dies quickly

Rugby league and the battle for hearts and minds in the west

He averaged 42 with a strike rate of 140. Only Hanscombe managed a strike rate of 103 was also over 100 in a series where we needed to be scoring over 300 to win games. The much vaunted Stoinis on the other hand averaged 0.5 runs more but at a strike rate of 50 runs less. Maxi only got 7 overs and took a wicket and only went for 5.85 while Stoinis and Siddle went for over 6 an over. Richardson and mayby Marsh and Hanscombe although Marshes strike rate around 90 was again less were better for Australia in the series. He was in the top 5 well and truly and should be at no risk if we want t o win a match

Is Glenn Maxwell the Big Show or a no-show?

Hanscombe hasn’t made a decent score for 2 years. He is destroyed and def won’t be in the team.

Lock it in, Uzzie: Khawaja cements his spot in next month's Test team

Sam Burgess, James Graham and the amamzing Gareth Ellis are the best of the modern day players. The qualification is what interests me if its english players then does 300 games Chris Hieghington get a run of the bench. Anyway you need to make it british as england is just a state if even that not a country. Great Britain is the country and for the Irish like Carney is he British or Irish ?

Who are the greatest Englishmen to have played rugby league Down Under?

Perth has 2 million people for 2 teams, Melbourne has 4 million people for what 9 AFl, 1 League and 1 Union – Seems Perth had much more potential locally and for national brands 2 million is still a lot – trust me I work for one

Where to now? The big questions following the ARU's decision to cut the Force

I believe I strongly resemble the bloke who yelled at Toddy Carney that day and my mate strongly resembled the bloke who told the 1st bloke he was too 🙂

People keep sprouting this argument that Wests Tigers should move to Campbelltown but it just doesent pass mustard.

Firstly Wests Tigers is a joint venture between Wests Ashfield and Balmain Tigers both based in the inner West Council area.

Population – The expected population of Campbelltown LGA in 2036 233k , the Inner West Council – 232k. However Strathfield,Burwood and Canada Bay councils which distance wise are closer then any other area is to campbelltown would boost the Inner Wests up to 478k – so effectively an Inner West club has access to a potential extra 240k population.

Stadiums – Both areas have traditional stadiums but the inner west is signifcantly closer in terms of both distance and transport time then Campbelltown to both Parramtta Stadium and ANZ stadium which will are in the midst of significant makeovers but also where in ANZ’s case the crowds are signifcantly higher then suburban grounds and will only increase and therefore both the game and the club should be aiming to attract fans likely to attend and this is the iner west purely by location near ANZ which is and will be the primary home of the Sydney game.

Players- Which is more attractive to players from an attractiveness point of view Inner West or Campbelltown. Not only is the inner west more attractive for players to live in both in and out of sydney but players switching clubs from within Sydney will on average be much more likely to go a club in Concord then in Campbelltown.

Tradition- Both Wests and Balmain were traditionally Inner West teams. COncord was actually the site of Wests 1st ever home ground and Leichardtis 10 mins down the road wit ANZ 10-15 mins the other way.

Money Money Money – If you are looking to attract sponsors then the closer to the city the better. If you look at Wests Tigers sponsors they have mostly been inner west or city based companies.

Club Staff – Same as players to attract the best admin staff you need to be in the best spots and it is much harder to attract people to work in Cambelltown then in the Inner West in these kind of roles.

Should Wests Tigers continue to play 3 or 4 games a year in Campbelltown and continue to be involved in the region – yes of course but to say they should move out to Campbelltown holus bolus is idiocy

Tigers CEO: We're not moving anywhere, especially Campbelltown

I don’t see how you can’t see the Tigers winning another game. I’m not saying they will or won’t but this season they have been within 1 try of beating the Sharks twice, the storm, the dragons and the eels as well as beating the Dogs and Cowboys. Now they didn’t win those 4 games but they took top 4 teams to the 80th minute and should have won the last game against the Sharks especially. They are down on troops at the moment – with Lawrence, Aloia, Grant, Tedesco (replacing Lovett, Chee-Kam, Jj Felise and MWZ so a massive upgrade for all 4) back next week or the week after. They are playing with plenty of heart most weeks and just the final execution has been letting them down in 2nd halves. Given the side had 8 different players to this time last year on the weekend and including positional changes 13 changes to the side from 12 months before they are still coming together but I personally see them getting a few wins and beating home a couple of teams

Twelve talking points from NRL Round 16

2 backrowers on a bench plus Bird who could play backrow when all 3 backrowers could play 80 mins – ummm nope

What Lozza should do if he wants to win Origin I

Look at the Rebels and Force fans fighting amongst themselves instead of blaming the ARU which agreed to cutting a team. This is why they announced 2 teams in the running so it took the heat off them and made it about the comparison

Sorry Melbourne. If the ARU is genuine, the Force must stay

Actually thats not really correct. The NRL is but what is happening is that the NSW CUp and QLD cup will have 20s teams instead so in fact more 20s players and the good ones will still be paid and paid well by the NRl clubs

Sorry Melbourne. If the ARU is genuine, the Force must stay

Sooo their was lots of people blowing cash in London on what could be done by phone

The future of Super Rugby: Great on the field, hopeless off it

I think both the Titans and the Tigers will make the top 8 in 2017.

I think the Titans will start a bit slower due to injuries but they have a lot of talent across the park.

The Tigers young players will keep getting better and while they have only limited signings I think with youth getting older they have a significantly better team then last year. Also the depth thing you mentioned I don’t know if any club that has quality replacements across the board to be honest in the Salary Cap era.

I do agree about the Sharks struggling with the post GF comedown and the loss of Barba and Ennis. Now while Valentine Homes covers for Barba as you say no one ever mentions that this means they have effectively lost a winger of Holmes talent and with no obvious replacements. THe 3/4 line is the Sharks weakness and prob was last yr but it looks much weaker without Holmes

2017 ladder predictions (Part 1)

Tigers were very impressive against a full strength cowboys when they had no Moses, Brooks or Ballin. They were up 16-12 at 60 minutes when both sides but especially the Tigers took off all their big names and swapped them with NSW cup and U20s players.

In the 1st 60 the Tigers forwards dominated the NQC who might struggle with an ageing Scott and no Tamou or Hannant. Idris and the young bloke Suli outside him could be this years Bj and Rapana.

What we learnt from the NRL trials

Eels are a year away from the spoon as always. People are thinking abut their team at the strt of last year too much when it was $2m over the cap. The Eels should be in the get your coach fired 4

Close but no cigar: Which NRL teams are another year away from contention?

More then Australia then

Will the Six Nations ever invite Georgia into the old boys' club?

All those suggesting that the Nines should be moved somewhere in Australia obviously stayed inside watching it and didn’t ve nture outside to the 40 degree heat. If you think the clubs are grumpy playing in NZ this weekend try making them risk their stars in 40 degree heat. It needs to be somewhere cooler – not cold just cooler – so either NZ, Tasmania or Northern Hemisphere

Yep agree here has to be a % fine otherwise whats the point. Also how come Jonathon Thurston can trip someone and pay with pcoket change but dangerous contact at level 1 which is accidentally bumping someone accidentally above the shoulder leads to missing a origin or grand final
