Here, here. Absolutely spot on. Closer to home the Socceroos and Matildas pick their best team from wherever they are playing.

Scrap the Giteau Law: Rugby Australia should look to Rassie's 'Boks RWC recipe if it wants to re-join the big boys' table

South Africa, Argentina, Scotland, Japan, Uruguay, Fiji, Georgia, Samoa, Tonga, Chile, Spain, Portugal, Romania and Italy all pick their best players from wherever they’re playing in the world. I wonder if there is a lesson there that RA should look for?

'We’d like to see Taniela stay': RA 'absolutely' want Thor for Lions, have 'contingency plans' for Rebels crisis

Hopefully Twiggy bails them out and moves RA to Exmouth, which I believe is as far away from Sydney as possible without leaving the country.

Exclusive: Rugby Australia makes sweeping redundancies as governing body braces for 'economic headwinds'

The trouble with “centralisation” in Australia is that it sounds like handing over more of the management of the game to a handful of people from a handful of post codes in Sydney.

The Wrap: Wallabies scrape a win but the team, and the code, have entered Chinese water torture territory

The board should go to, they are at least equally responsible. If not more so.

COMMENT: Eddie must be axed if he can't beat Wales - or the game will be in deep trouble in Australia

Another great article Nicholas. It sounds like fixing a few simple things will make a bigger difference than getting players back from OS. I read a book review of Lionel Messi’s biography in The Economist this week. Apparently the best footballers scan the pitch 50 times per minute. If a few Wallabies were doing this on Saturday at least three of the tries scored against them could have been avoided.

Why the Wallabies are still looking for fool’s gold

Nothing would surprise me. They’re probably finalizing the terms for a five year contract extension.

Rugby Australia: No guarantees on Cheika

Wallaby backs seem to lack pace compared to the All Blacks (or Barrett at least).

All Blacks vs Wallabies: Bledisloe Cup Game 2 live scores, blog

Unfortunately for the vast majority of people Super Rugby does not exist. The situation won’t change without free-to-air coverage.

Brumbies warning over declining crowds

Here’s one; rugby to be on television. The decline in public interest in the game over the past 20 years correlates well with it’s disappearance from free-to-air.

The annual Rugby Christmas wish list

Sella is the most impressive in my opinion as he racked up his century in the amateur era. Fantastic player too.

The rugby centurions: A pseudoscientific analysis

“… recent seasons …”

This has been going on since 2005 at least.

Consistently inconsistent Wallabies won’t fill empty seats

100%.

On the game they play in heaven

5 minutes well spent reading this. It is easy to dwell on what the ideal Wallaby 15 should be but there is always the big picture. Good on you Clyde.

On the game they play in heaven

Definitely the Force should stay. Three teams would be playing in one time zone and two in the other. Road trips would also be easier to schedule (Sydney->Perth->Tokyo) in my opinion.

Sorry Melbourne. If the ARU is genuine, the Force must stay

Not to mention the Feds dependence on the iron ore price to prop up the budget. Catch the red eye from Perth to Sydney/Melbourne/Brisbane some time. You will be surprised how many people are employed on the west coast who live on the east.

The future of Super Rugby: Great on the field, hopeless off it

If the Force go Western Australia should secede.

The future of Super Rugby: Great on the field, hopeless off it

Until the issues with the forwards are sorted out the composition of the backline is irrelevant. The best back line in the world will not score points without quality possession. So the answer is “no”, Quade is not the saviour of the Wallabies (unless he can catch the ball in the line out, sort out the scrum, etc).

Is Quade Cooper the unlikely savior?

There needs to be a moratorium on discussing the performance of the backs until such time as the forwards are sorted out.

Another week, another thumping. Watching the Wallabies shouldn't be like this...

I agree. Barrett missed a few goals and the All Blacks passed into touch a few times. The Wallabies were lucky not to lose by more.

I'm not under pressure: Cheika

The Wallabies do not look like a professional outfit at the moment. It’s a shambles.

ARU alert: Has Michael Cheika gone rogue?

Attack will not improve until the forwards are sorted out. To state the obvious you need the ball to score points.

Seven talking points from Bledisloe Cup Game 2

I think Cooper has been brought in as a distraction from the fact that there is no cover on the bench for the back row. Starting Scott Fardy gives them three line out options in lieu of the two they started with last week.

Wallabies team for Bledisloe 2: Quade Cooper to start at flyhalf, Foley inside centre

Re: Sean MacMahon. Three opensides in the back row? How would that help? They should throw Gill and Hodgson in the second row so they all get a run.

Spare parts can't fix Cheika's car crash of a team

Why is one of the shortest back row forwards in world rugby a line out option? It is not rocket science.
