No it doesn’t make sense to call Australian Rules “football”.
Everyone is calling everything “football” these days.

You are welcome to your opinions, but at least I don’t hide behind a multitude of aliases in chorus.
Maybe do some research of your own and look outside the MeIbourne Square.

Settle down there boys, you are starting to sound very bitter and negative.
Both Verbeek and Osieck were sacked by FFA.
Ange only got his chance because of poor results from Osieck including a couple of 0-6 losses, which is what I was alluding to.

Not my headline, my original title was amended by the moderators.
The game was originally known as Melbourne Rules of Rugby.
No need to call it “British Association Football” like its something foreign and to be feared. Its called Football as in FIFA and FFA not FIFBAFA or BAFFFA.
You fail to understand what I was writing about. This is not a piece about the history of football in Australia, it’s a piece about Ange Postecoglou and the influence football has had on him and indeed the influence he’s had on football in Australia.
There are children of migrants playing every sport, not just Australian Rules. However, the most number of migrants and children of migrants play football, because it’s a truly international sport popular all around the world. As this graph clearly shows.
Australia is not in a “mono-sport silo”. It’s a great country and we enjoy to play and watch all types of sports right round the world, Ange did too. I find it’s the AustraIian RuIes followers who tend to be more one eyed than the others, if there is a difference.

In the event that a FFNSW or FFV club receives the honour of hosting an FFA Cup game, they can hire some temporary lighting for the occasion.
Conversely it is not the FFA’s responsibility to upgrade every football home ground in Australia, so they can host an FFA Cup game. It is grossly unfair to criticise FFA for it too.
MelbCro, why can’t we just be friends?
FFA Cup hiccups will take time to cure
Thank you, its great to see Man U are going to have another ordinary season.
We might even see a different team again win the League Cup, FA Cup and the EPL Premiership.
That’s one of the things I don’t like about the European competitions, the same team(s) winning it all the time.
Manchester United will return to the top
And what a great experience for the guy, a huge game in Rome at the Olympic Stadium against Roma.
How he regathers himself will either make or break him as a world class player.
A-league players that could survive in the EPL
Sydney FC beat Brisbane Roar 2-0 to win the Townsville Cup.

Goals to Marc Janko and Corey Gamiero, who has scored 11 goals in 7 pre-season matches.
I might be wrong about Janko and Arnold.
Why is there no Roar news story on this?
A-league players that could survive in the EPL
From the match report:
“Then the Roma breakthrough came after a poor pass by debutant Joshua Brillante fell right to Radja Nainggolan, who fed Gervinho. Neto came up with a great save, but his block was superbly volleyed home by the late-arriving Nainggolan, one of the stars of the show.
Roma were comfortably in control after taking the lead, and Fiorentina weren’t able to create any chances before halftime despite an early substitution from Montella, replacing the overwhelmed Brillante with Josip Ilicic and retreating Borja Valero to midfield.”
The manager was prepared to give him a go but unfortunately, he might not give him another chance for a while.

Meanwhile, the venue for the Sydney FFA Cup derby is yet to be confirmed as Foxtel is awaiting official certificates to ensure the proposed venue, Sydney United Sports Centre, at Edensor Park, has the required lighting for Digital HD broadcast.

Les is wrong too.
The NCIP does not “stop ethnic groups from forming clubs”. They can form as many clubs as they want and they can register with any federation they like.
If they want to register with the FFA or play in any FFA competitions they need to follow the NCIP guidelines. That’s all.
Every football competition in the world has rules you need to follow to take part.
Football is not “afraid of the ethnic wolf”. The FFA were the one’s who wanted to reach out to the ethnic communities by asking their clubs to play in the FFA Cup. The NCIP tries to protect that multi-million dollar investment.
Does Les want Soccer Australia back in charge, so the Greeks and Italians can start arguing with the Croatians again?

Janek, I did read the article, in fact a couple of times to be sure.
In just about every second paragraph you accuse the FFA of everything from banning live streams, to lacking communication and even not compensating clubs for a lighting upgrade.
Since when is it the FFA’s fault for not upgrading FFNSW or FFV club’s home grounds?

Then let Joshua Thomas answer some of the questions for himself.
Your sarcasm doesn’t fool me Mister Football at the cattery.
Why I left the Red and Black Bloc
Janek, do some more research instead of cooking up more trouble and you could answer some of your own questions.
FFA aren’t “banning” live feeds, the feeds were something that Foxtel allowed, outside of their contractual arrangements, as goodwill for the start of a new competition. Rather than criticisng the FFA again, you should be thanking Foxtel for their generosity.
There are technical issues for Foxtel in broadcasting a match from a ground that has insufficient lighting and actually contravenes their HD digital broadcasting standards.
If clubs don’t want their games telecast as the live FFA Cup fixture then they can play the game at a ground with insufficient lighting if they want. Its up to the clubs whether they want to move the game to another ground or not. Its Foxtel’s call whether they’ll telecast it. Its been very difficult for the Foxtel technical team and they have been as accommodating as possible.
You are starting to become a bit of a Jesse Fink.
I hope you don’t end up like Jesse on the scrapheap of Australian football writers.

A confession of the converted: "I love AFL"
Why after “two enjoyable years” are you suddenly leaving Josh?
And just weeks before the season kickoff.
Has no-one been hassling you for two years and then all of a sudden during the off season, when WSW aren’t even playing, some “drunken guys” in the RBB are forcing you to cheer for WSW?
Is this real or imagined?
Why I left the Red and Black Bloc
Is it work experience week at the AFL Media Department again.
The number of bizzare, whingeing, complaining articles on football this week has been ridiculous.
Why I left the Red and Black Bloc
No James Demetriou or Chris Ikonomidis again.
Have they done something to upset Paul Okon or Ange Postecoglou?
Juric can be Socceroos’ striker for years to come
Nice inclusive attitude there slane.
Yeah, absolutely, who gives a rats about anyone who doesn’t follow AFL?
A confession of the converted: "I love AFL"
Wasn’t me this time BigAl.
So Black Widow, there is no abuse at AFL games, especially at players like Adam Goodes and Buddy Franklin?
AFL players have never been charged with racial abuse or sexual abuse of women?
Sounds like a wonderful sport to follow. I might just go out and buy a few tickets to those fantastic GWS games, if they haven’t all been sold out already.
A confession of the converted: "I love AFL"
Absolutely, but this guy is something special and should be blooded early and not lost to Cyprus.
Postecoglou needs to keep tabs on young talents
Not my heading/title, the moderators changed it.
Why don’t you write an article about what happens prior to Ange choosing his squad. I’d be interested to read it.

Thanks Bondy. Love your comments.
