Not strange – most back up 10s play different games to starting 10s e.g. Barrett & Mo’unga!

Life after Cooper: Wallabies' 2024 gameplan development starts now

Dusty – you are a man after my own heart – Brumbies and Wallabies tragic to your bootstraps! I could watch the 2004 Super Rugby GF any day of the week. And its funny given your battle with QED above that it was Merhtens injection into that match that turned the Crusaders tide not Carter stepping up!

Rugby News: Stewart shocker - Reds ace leaving but NOT for the Rebels, Holloway to debut for Wallabies, Porecki OUT

How about Hooper as a finisher and not a starter – start with Samu or some other larger bodied 7 and bring Hooper on for the last 20-30?

Hooper is brave and elite, and changing a captain is momentous, but it's a risk worth taking

It’s not out of disrespect for the player or his commitment and passion but it’s time we recognised that Hooper is just too small to play 7 these days – it’s a larger part of why he’s ‘cooked’ because he has to try and go so much more out of his smaller frame. England targeted him throughout the series for jusr that reason and Eddie new Rennie would remain loyal to Hooper! Sorry to say it but we need to use the rugby championship to try someone bigger at 7.

Wallabies DIY player ratings from the 3rd England Test: Wright again and Marika magic

Wow – I bet you feel better having got that off your chest! For what’s it’s worth we lost the game at the collision – they stopped our carry on contact while we folded and were carried on their contact. Hooper was targeted by the English bigger bodies. Maybe we need to start to think of Hooper as a finisher and start Pete Samu (sorry he’s a Brumby). Scrum was poor – not sure that had much to do with Bobby V or Neville (the Brumbies forward starters you were aiming at) – our cheap talk during the week about ‘smashing’ them clearly ringing in the England front row’s ears – less hubris and more fitness and technique might help. Hopefully AA is back next week – sorry he’s another Brumby who I think we missed last night!

REACTION: Perese and Petaia join Wallabies' devastating injury list as Eddie's England level series

I thought I heard or saw a stat on Saturdays Stan broadcast which suggested White’s passing speed is 20km/h faster than Gordon’s – which I guess means the ball gets to his runners faster. Maybe that’s part of the reason – I also reckon White’s pretty decent at game management.

Wallabies CONFIRMED: Kellaway and Ikitau OUT, Petaia at 15, Frost set for debut, Taniela returns, Suli kept waiting

A certain Dave Rennie for starters.

Wallabies CONFIRMED: Kellaway and Ikitau OUT, Petaia at 15, Frost set for debut, Taniela returns, Suli kept waiting

While these might not be all that the Australian side need to do, it would be a great start – thanks Bentnuc!

Two easy changes to be competitive against the Kiwis

He was replaced with 10-15 to play.

Brumbies fall heartbreakingly short in titanic struggle with Crusaders

Pinetree – one thing that will count against the Brumbies in TT this year is forward depth – front row & loose forward stocks are fully stretched and having to play their first 3 TT games on the road in NZ won’t make it any easier.

The two lingering questions from an incredible weekend of Super Rugby finals

Yep – fair call.

Seven talking points from the Super Rugby AU and Aotearoa finals

Hi PeterK – I think the penalty at 83:58 is questionable. It’s the one given after Scott-Young is held up. As I’ve commented elsewhere in this forum Berry does not call offside in the lead up, does not indicate advantage and once he blows his whistle for the penalty simply says ‘it’s a penalty, he’s offside’ and does not nominate a number or call a name. I’ve now watched the replay a number of times and it’s unclear to me who he’s referring to.

I also don’t think it’s necessarily sour grapes to comment or ask questions about decisions. Particularly in regard to decision making by a referee that you as a Roar Guru have previously suggested is ‘poor’.

Seven talking points from the Super Rugby AU and Aotearoa finals

Well Berry clearly thought there was but for those of us who want to understand why it’s hard to identify. This isn’t about why did the Brumbies lose – because they clearly lost the game when they over threw the last line out – if they’d taken that cleanly, they would have won. But they didn’t which created the winning opportunity for the Reds.

Super Rugby thriller! Last-ditch James O'Connor try hands Reds the Super Rugby AU title

Agree entirely Jacko – have watched it 4 times and he seems to has his back to the Brumbies walking away to the mark. Go figure

Super Rugby thriller! Last-ditch James O'Connor try hands Reds the Super Rugby AU title

PeterK – respect your experience and passion but at 80:03 with reds held up the ref said ‘you were offside’ and awarded a penalty. He did not name any players or call any numbers.

An alternative view might be that the reds were held up at 80:03 and with full time up the match is over. It’s all just conjecture now but it’s very unusual for a first class referee not to call the offside and signal advantage. Not looking to take away from the spirit of the reds this season or enjoyment of the moment for reds supporters with the win.

Enjoy it Rhys but maybe you drop the personal sledging!

Brumbies will be hoping Petai
plays 13 – it shows up his passing weakness and he’ll be easier to contain closer to centre field. I’m just a punter but I reckon he makes an awesome winger and wouldn’t mind seeing him at 15.

Are the Brumbies about to lose their mantle as Australia’s No.1 team? Part 1

Wouldn’t surprise me to see Slipper start and come off after 20/30 mins – they then bring on Sio and subject to injury he and AAT would see out the game.

As a Brumbies fan I hope they’ve got something up their sleeves because they are going to need it!

Brumbies fight past gallant Force to set up Reds showdown

I’m not sure why you call the Brumbies ‘overrated’ Republican – they’ve gone downtwice to the Reds this year and are clearly the underdogs for next weeks match. On last nights form you’d only say White, Valentini and Wright would make a Wallabies match day 22. That said, I’m sure they’ll have a good crack at the Reds next week.

Will the Force be able to travel to Canberra for the Final given Covid quarantine restrictions now in place and have Reds had to go into isolation as well given they were in Perth?
