Time will tell but I think it’s far too early to count out the Saints. If they lose this week I will bend my view on this.
Eli is definitely under the pump if the Giants have another bad season along with Coughin.
Definitely a lot of great stories to cover and a lot more to come. the Falcons offense for one.
NFL needs to get its house in order so we can focus on the game
Completely agree on Robert Lui, he shouldn’t be playing either. As for Paterson attitudes to how we discipline our kids these days have changed.

Thanks for that Anthony it was over the years. Just trying to illustrate just how big this is

The AFL is far less Melbourne-centric than than the NRL is Sydney-centric. I am happy for other teams to play just think that Collingwood and Essendon should stay playing at the MCG. Lets have a full round on Anzac Day, a game in SA, WA, NSW, QLD, NZ, Melbourne x 2 and Geelong. That just leaves one other place to have a game.
As for Good Friday, lets have games all over the country on that day as well.
Anzac Day is the greatest footy day of the year
The piece is about Manziel and the top 2 picks are a possibility, if remote. Yes the Rams will rue forever the decision to trade the RG3 pick.
All will be revealed next week. The beauty of all this is that its all opinion at this time of year and nobody knows what the clubs will do.
Where will Johnny Football land?
Thanks Tim the crowd is not always bigger on GF day. Having the best 2 teams does not always make for the best day or the best event. When 1 team is clearly superior like through most of the GF’s in the early 90’s it’s a bit of a dud day
Anzac Day is the greatest footy day of the year
Couldn’t agree more and I think this day honours that with integrity and value
Anzac Day is the greatest footy day of the year
Of course I do not think that Joe. Those other clubs more than had their fair chance to play on that day before Essendon and Collingwood played in 1995. I remember Carlton, Melbourne, North and Geelong. I am not saying that Essendon and Collingwoood should be the only teams to play on the day, rather that the tradition should continue. I would like to see games all over the country on the day as well as the game in NZ continue.
I for now hope North get Good Friday as a reward for what they did in the 80s and hope they play the Saints or Bulldogs so these clubs can get some national exposure.

That’s right I do support the Bombers. For us in recent years this is as close as we get to a GF. I do attend all the other big games and the finals and think this day is special for the whole community.
Anzac Day is the greatest footy day of the year
Thanks deebhoy. Its more than just the game its about life. The crowd on Anzac Day is often the equal or better than Grand Final day and its full of fans, not corporates just there to be seen. I have been to every GF since 1996 and I can tell you that the atmosphere on that day is often quite sterile for that reason. The buzz around town on Anzac Day is the equal of Grand Final day.
As for the old chestnut that its monopolised by 2 teams, they were the only teams that had the vision to make it their own and have the supporter base to do it justice. Others were welcome to do so but didn’t.
Anzac Day is the greatest footy day of the year
I loved the good old days going to the suburban grounds and you can still do that at VFL or local level. There is nothing like a crowd of 95k plus as 2 teams that don’t like each other unite in the moments before the game then the roar as the ball is bounced.
I’m sure the SA and WA derbies are fantastic, however there is nothing like the G on the 25th of April all season long.

Thanks Joe. You make a great point about the publicity factor. Nobody thought Foles was going to be Chip Kelly’s type of QB coming into the NFL, so who knows maybe O’Brien will change as well based on what he thinks is best for his team. They would be crazy to pass up on Clowney though.
QB’s are always keenly sought after so will go in the first round even if they don’t necessarily warrant it
Where will Johnny Football land?
Thanks Darrel. I don’t believe I said Manziel would go in the top 2, only that he was expected to go somewhere in the top 5. In my team by team look at the top 5 I then said the reasons why I thought the Texans and Rams wouldn’t take him .
I agree with you, Jacksonville is the likely destination.
You never know what can happen on draft day and yes, Philly, Detroit and Denver are left field options. However Foles is far from proven, Manning is one injury and at best 2 years away from the end, and Stafford is heading towards becoming the next Tony Romo with an arsenal of receivers that are the envy of most.
Spending 1-2 years as a back up is not the worst thing that could happen to anyone, did Aaron Rodgers well.

Thanks Steve really think this will be a cracker of a weekend. Its just a shame the games are not on today!!
Don't believe the non-hype, the NFL Wildcard Playoff will be a cracker
