That just makes it a dark day for the Justice system as well then sheek.

Where to now for sport in this country?

Great article High Shot.

Time for a change in NRL marketing

Why doesn’t those economics apply to the Aussie Rules GF?
Because it is a cultural event. And treating it like a TV show would makes less money and less enjoyment for all and sundry today and in the future.
My name is Chris Hardiman and the traditional sports I grew up with Cricket, Rugby Union & League are going down the toilet and all the Australian Media does is defend it, are in on it, get their egos massaged by hob knobbing with the stars + power brokers or give us the score and tips.

Where to now for sport in this country?

Ok I’ve re read your comment and you say that sport exists because of fans which is more accurate than your article that says sports exists for the fans.

Where to now for sport in this country?

Yeah I do believe elite sport would exist without television because it existed long before the invention television. I’ve seen it in history books. The crowds are packed and the fans are all smiling.
And please answer me this Glenn – Does the staging of the Rugby League Grand Final at night suit fans or channel 9?

Where to now for sport in this country?

Sport exists for the fans since when? It exists to fill television programming and make money for all kinds of cretinous people. Including all you hacks in the media. Which is why ‘sports’ is in the mess that it’s in.

Manti Te’o, are you for real?

Andy you may be right. But I believe that rugby was greater to watch and play when the forwards were committed to the rucks and mauls and the backs had more time and space. If there is no way of going back to that then maybe there needs to be rule changes to create that situation again: less players and more separation of defences. Or play rugby league.

Lance, can I please have the $35 I paid for your autobiography plus 10 years interest?

21 questions I'd like to ask Lance Armstrong

I get that Rickety. But you need to find out why.
I think it is because of the wholesale rule changes the game is not as fun/exciting/entertaining as the game that you and I would have got to play and watch as young fellas and their choosing something else be it rugby league of playing on the computer.
The rules of the game do matter.

Your version of beer is non alchholic. I want to go back to alchoholic.
The laws do matter. That is why Rugby Union is different from Rugby League and Aussie Rules. It is also why New Rugby is different to old rugby. It is also why I’d prefer to watch the All Blacks, Wallabies, Springboks any rugby from the 60s 70s 80s 90s than the ‘product’ of today.
Yes the players physiques, training schedules have changed but that has a less impact than the law changes.
And here’s some articles from people much more knowledgeable than myself than share that opinion:

I do get down to Queensland University (Jono Lance should be Wallabies next 5/8th) and enjoy watching those games with more room to move etc. Also I can park for free, myself and kids can nearly stand on the sideline and watch and it is daytime!

Since you brought Rugby League into the conversation crack user answer this. What chance would NFL franchises stand for one team being able to play nearly all their games on friday night when every other team does not? Zero. There would be rioting in the streets. And George Piggins would not, not say anything about that and try to shame fans in throwing their money away memberships when they can’t even watch their team play every game live on TV in 2013.

Will Jesse Williams make NFL mainstream down under?

Without George Piggins there would be no Souths despite what the butt hole kissers and media scumbags think Crackhead

Will Jesse Williams make NFL mainstream down under?

Jiggles I think you ought to buy a bro or manssier for your obvious problems. Forget Sydney. 5 nations was awesome, NZ provincial rugby was awesome (I’ve seen the crowds in text books) and Qld rugby was especially awesome to.
And all those players you mentioned were awesome to Sheek. But that game is not what is being played anymore. The rules have changed wholesale. Those blokes especially the loosies wouldn’t even know what to do. Ask those fellas what version they would rather play.

Rickety, when you were a young fella playing the game were your coaches coaching as different a game as the game they would have played compared to what you are coaching and what you would have played?

Can Bill Pulver bring a change of luck to Australian rugby?

So what are you trying to say Rickety? I got that Rugby is in the entertainment business and you think that rugby from the 80’s was sensational – which is my point.
My other point is it was more fun to play. Maybe that is why you’re losing players old mate.

Just simply ask yourself as a back would you rather play the old game where there was plenty of room to move, more time and less defenders to beat or todays game?
As a forward would you rather play the old game charging into rucks and mauls driving people out of the way, scrapping for the ball in the lineouts, getting a breather every now and then or todays game choreograghed ballet in the lineouts, monotonous roman wrestling in the rucks and mauls and standing where the five eighth should stand ready to tackle the next forward who started his run from two meters away.
The kids want to play rugby league because it is a superior game to new rugby.
Ask yourself and every one you know which is more fun to play and then you’ll find the biggest problem with Union.

But thanks for the reply. Sheek won’t because he’s a big ol johnny wuss bag.

Can Bill Pulver bring a change of luck to Australian rugby?

You’re wrong mate %100. And it is not always about watching the game. It is about playing it for those lucky enough to be able to. The old rules were more fun for forwards and backs. And the game and its traditions from those old videos are what made the game so popular and able to survive as an amateur sport for so long.

Can Bill Pulver bring a change of luck to Australian rugby?

Fans like you are part of the problem Sheek. You’re too wrapped up in the business and politics of the game. Your belief that Rugby can be played like the 70’s and 80’s under the laws of today just highlights the ignorance of the rugby hierarchy at all levels and the game will continue its backwards slide in this country.

Can Bill Pulver bring a change of luck to Australian rugby?

That was way cool.

Chip Litherland's photos actually makes Alabama, Notre Dame game look exciting

Once again Australian knucklehead media caught with its’ pants down.

Wannabe hooligans ruin A-League for the rest of us

I’m surprised by Simon Poidevans thinking about the state of the game. I read his book only last year and in he says that his first taste of experiencing rucking and mauling in senior football was like a junkie trying their first taste of heroin or something close to that. With that in mind would he even enjoy playing Union the way it is today? That is the most important question to ask in my opinion and especially to ask that of Poido who’s mantra was for love not money.

Can Bill Pulver bring a change of luck to Australian rugby?

Hey try hard hooligans – you’re meant to meet the opposing teams firm somewhere near the ground. Haven’t you seen any movies?

Wannabe hooligans ruin A-League for the rest of us

My two year old stops what he’s doing and looks at the telly when I’m watching the awesomeness of American football. I think that will be the biggest driver in growth of the game in this country Chris. Jesse Williams is being talked about on the construction sites I’ve been on in Brisbane this week but it is mostly ignorant stuff – talk about the padding and number of players etc.

Cricket and the Rugby codes need to pull their socks up. After watching NFL it’s hard to take our sports seriously sometimes. It’s like they’re hell bent on self destruction.

Will Jesse Williams make NFL mainstream down under?

Dwindling crowds are a major flaw in the game? Shouldn’t it be that the dwindling crowds are because of the major flaws in the game?

Big Bash League must change before expanding
