I think you’ll find we aren’t because the GAA were taking such a massive percentage of the money being made.
Also, while we aren’t getting 70-80,000 to Six Nations games, have you ever thought that might be made up in other places, like Leinster now being able to play select games in Landsdowne where they are getting between 40-50,000 attendances, 30K more than they would have got and while Leinster get some of that, the IRFU gets a nice cut of that as well.
Saint-Andre's France in contention for Six Nations glory
Absolutely cracking game of rugby. Harlequins scored three fantastic tries.
Harlequins stun mighty Toulouse
It’s Ireland’s first time at a European championships since 1988 but we’ve been at three World Cups since where we’ve beaten Italy and gone to penalties against Spain in 2002. This is a damn tough group but I still think we’re capable of getting through considering our strong record against Croatia and that in the last three matches against Italy, we’ve drawn twice and won once.
Euro 2012 draw creates new groups of death
This article shows a real lack of class. We all know you are not a fan of Kaplan but to rejoice in him retiring? How would you feel if people were rejoicing when you retired?
Is this Test to be Kaplan's swansong?
I don’t know much about the in-depth goings on of rugby in the USA but I hope that they don’t try to push rugby too high before it has got strong foundations.
Super Rugby and the USA
If it’s like old tours, the home team always wear the alternate kit but knowing the way money works, the Lions would love the opportunity to show off another top to try increase sales in that.
I wonder will there be more Lions fans in the stadiums that the Aussies. Forget about all those that will travel but with the amount of exiles in Australia, we could see a massive amount of Lions fans.
Lions tour schedule announced with NSW the winner
I agree with KOTG that they should have gone with the MCG for the Melbourne Test. That would have at least shown a statement of how big this Test is going to be.
What I’m hoping is that we get to see the Lions playing against strong sides not the watered down versions we saw when we played in South Africa.

Oh my goodness, could you have gotten that more wrong?
Rugby Championship: a Good Deal or an Ordeal for the teams?
They won’t even know it’s on.
Rugby Championship: a Good Deal or an Ordeal for the teams?
They’ve already done up the Sportsground and will be able to hold 8-10,000 for the H Cup games. They won’t be allowed to use GAA stadiums.
Heineken Cup gets northern juices flowing
Jack Reed is a fantastic addition to this side but the other centre position is still a real weakness.
Four Nations 2011 preview: England
Most of them actually will make it and there are even more guys coming through. Hopefully some backs emerge from somewhere though over the next 4 years.
Farewell to some true legends of the game
I actually think Paul O’Connell has been playing fantastically well of late. One of the few Irish players who played well in the run up to the Australia game.
Farewell to some true legends of the game
Would be a major coup for Japan if they signed him. Having a coach with his credentials and experience would be massive for Japan, especially as they really start to push for rapid improvement in time for hosting the World Cup in 2019.
Ex-Wallaby coach Jones ready for Japan
How about Mario Ledesma, who unlike all the above players has actually retired fully from playing rugby. He may never get the attention of others but I believe he is probably the best hooker of the professional era.
Farewell to some true legends of the game
Looks a cracking player. Very exciting. I wonder where he’d fit in Union though.
Why Benji should be snapped up by rugby
Or that some players are better suited to League than they are to Union.
Why Benji should be snapped up by rugby
Yeah but none of the guys you mention are first fives, maybe only Hayne at a push.
Why Benji should be snapped up by rugby
Kinaesthetic learning is better than visual. Basically, you can’t beat actually being in the cauldron yourself. Cooper will only be better for the experience of this World Cup and I can certainly see him taking England by storm in 2015.
Why Benji should be snapped up by rugby
You should go into referee assessing David. You seem to write more on them than anything else.
Lawrence blunders his way out of a RWC semi-final
Is journalists continually writing about making it more of a problem than it is?
I say yes.
Will controversial refereeing spoil the Rugby World Cup?
Ireland’s backrow has been fantastic throughout this competition (bias here I know) so do you think that Wales can them?
Wallabies vs Springboks: RWC Quarter Finals Q&A
Big win for Ireland. We seem to have problems being the favourites but the players certainly didn’t show it today. Very strong performance against an incredibly riled up Italian side who at times seemed to want to hurt Irish players more than make plays for the ball.
Rugby World Cup live scores: Ireland vs Italy
Can I just point out that for Munster, he has played quite a bit for the reserves side so hasn’t exactly impressed that much up here.
