I didn’t expect the Sharks to win against the Panthers, but after watching that game on Saturday and the amazing home crowd, I can’t help but think if the game had been played in neutral territory the result would have been different.

As it stands I can’t believe Penrith won by so little. It was a decent game of footy from both sides.

NRL Round 19 talking points: Just another quiet weekend, yeah?

Begone with your facts and logic!

Dominant Panthers within pouncing distance of all-time premiership record

Woolooware? Did Panthers change home grounds?

The Roar’s NRL expert tips and predictions: Round 19

Will the Storm miss the eight? Not a chance. Will they miss the top 4? Unlikely, but possible.

They’ve had a wee bad run, but they are the Storm, it won’t last long.

Will the Melbourne Storm miss the top four? Or finals altogether?

I don’t mind it being on a Wednesday, but if it could be earlier it would be great. I could watch it with the kids.

All Origins should be 6pm on Sundays, the late Wednesday night kick-off just plain sucks

Great to see the Sharks get a team finally, after the progress they made for womens league.

Cowboys, Sharks, Raiders, Tigers get nod to join fast-tracked NRLW expansion to 10 teams

If NZ swapped to league as their main form of footy I am of the belief the Warriors would win all the time.

The Roar’s NRL expert tips and predictions: Round 14

I wouldn’t put it past the Sharks to lose this week. They have had poor performances in QLD of late, and the Warriors have a point to prove.

My Olympic experience is that after 2000 no one really cares. I mean, people check the medal tally and stuff, might watch some events they enjoy, but overall it isn’t the event it used to be.

And my experience with little brothers is that they grow up. 😂

'You just don't get Origin': Recollections of a New South Welshman in enemy territory

Club before State, all the way.

But the QLD v NSW thing? I think it’s a lot like the Melbourne v Sydney debate. The only people that really care aren’t in NSW. At the end of the day it’s just a game, albeit the greatest annual event in rugby league, unless your club makes it to the GF.

Not liking Townsville is a perfectly cromulent reason. I went there once and never wish to return.

Top three teams in the NRL premiership race

May premiers for now. There’s a lot of time to pass between now and October. Lots of potential injuries. Lots of potential scandals. Lots of anything.

But they do look the goods.

Can your NRL club win the title if they're not the Panthers? Call me delusional, but...

I’m surprised but elated that Moylan hasn’t broken into a million pieces yet. Touch wood.

Miller time for Sharks as Aussie 7s Olympian shines on NRL debut

“Attending a match at a full Suncorp Stadium is on everyone’s rugby league bucket list.”

It’s not on mine!

That said, I have no issue with the Magic Round being in Brisbane. I reckon NZ would like to host it after COVID is no longer a worry.

Why Magic Round belongs anywhere but Sydney

There was never much doubt as to Fitzy being a better option that Morris, but the way Morris was treated and kicked out during the season was reprehensible.

'We’re not dying wondering': Sharks go into attack mode after Kennedy send-off to embarrass Warriors

Nah, he’s not. He became a Sharks “supporter” for political gain in his electorate. He’s been previously photographed in Bulldogs membership gear, and before 2018 was never, ever seen at a Sharks game. The Sharks gear that he wears isn’t his, they are props handed to him when he shows up. His membership status is well known in the club, as it is non-existent. It may not be public knowledge, but it’s established fact.

When he’s booted out at the next election you will never see him at a Sharks game again.

'I think they’ll be top four': Sharks send statement by sinking Dragons in wet Wollongong

Scummo isn’t actually a Sharks supporter, he’s a Union man through and through. He only started with the Sharks schtick in 2018. He’s not ticket holder #1, he’s not even a member.

Won’t be long now until Ricky throws in the towel at Canberra. I’m surprised he hasn’t done a runner already, like he has done historically.

Ricky's Raiders just need some luck, there's no need to panic

Coriander is just bad, it doesn’t matter who likes.

'It trumps league': Why don’t the media give rugby union a fair go?

Sharks defence was pretty good, apart from when it wasn’t and let easy tries in. Their attack was up and down – when they moved the ball away from the centre there was more spark in them.

All in all it wasn’t a bad game, neither team played amazing, but good to get the first win of the season.

Nicho Hynes boots winner after the siren to hand Cronulla win on return to Shark Park - with mate's ashes on his wrist

Very large group, especially those that remember his performance in 2008. What a points machine!

Also, an absolute legend of a bloke.

Why I fell in love with the Cronulla Sharks

Incorrect. It’s Shark Park. It’s doesn’t matter who sponsors us, it’s always gonna be Shark Park.

NRL 2022 Radar: New coach and recruits put Sharks back in the hunt

“I stand with Sticky…”

Yeah, but will he stand by you? Won’t be long now until he chucks a hissy fit and blames everyone but himself for how the team performs. He has done it to every NRL team he has coached.

As for folks in Cooma caring about the Raiders – If you were to go to the local club to watch a Sharks vs Raiders game, there would be far more Sharks fans watching. I only use the Sharks as an example, as they are the games I go and watch at the club. Hell, there’s more Warriors supporters in Cooma than there is Raiders fans.

'I stand with Sticky': What it's like to be a Canberra Raiders fan

Has he done the time to fit the crime? If so then he can’t be prevented from taking a coaching offer. Fortunately none of us here have the power to make that decision, and rightly so.

Would I want him coaching the Sharks again? Hell no. He’s a good coach, but he’s got the business finesse of a square ball.

Would you want Shane Flanagan as coach of your club?

At no point did I say I was against vaccinations. You are struggling with your comprehension skills to get that out of my comment – I’ve had my first shot of AZ even though I’m not in the recommended age bracket, and recommend everyone get what they can.

There is mounting evidence that the COVID vaccines currently in play reduce the chance of transmission in asymptomatic carriers only, that’s it. A simple Google search will show you that, with many reports and papers on the subject. If you contract COVID and have been vaccinated but develop symptoms you are just as capable of transmitting the virus as someone who has not been vaccinated.

So no, it’s not entirely factual, as I stated in my first comment. Transmission rates are anecdotally reduced in asymptomatic vaccinated cases, not “…in every case…”.

In the context of this article every player that wants to play should be vaccinated, unless they have a medical reason. Ethical/moral excuses do not come into play. People shouldn’t be getting vaccinated in the false belief that it’s a magical barrier that prevents and/or reduces transmission/contraction, the major benefit is reducing the effects of COVID once someone is infected. Again, this is all very, very basic information you can find with a Google search. It’s also in your AZ or Pfizer handout when you get your jab.
