Good point. White is in good form no matter the format lately.

Keeping my eye on Tom Cooper too.

Cameron White leads Australia to T20 series win

I hate Shaun Marsh, so flaky, has had his chance. Deserves an extended stint at the fringe like Phil Hughes has had.

I’d even prefer Pete Forrest in the team ahead of Shaun Marsh! Some of the hatred is irrational sure, but most of it is based on him always getting out for single digit scores therefore being unreliable and frustrating. He is a worthy risk at shield level but in the AUS team? NO.. no no no no no.

Marsh brothers eye off Test reunion

I wanted to see them in Adelaide (had free tickets to the T20) but they started at 2pm or something ridiculous on a weekday.. I finished work after the game finished.

Poor scheduling.

Come on Melbourne and Sydney cricket lovers, turn up to watch the Aussie girls

Marsh is my most hated batsman.

How I see him is flaky and as inconsistent as hell when I’ve seen him play for AUS, even manages to look shaky when making big scores..

I want a fresh face in the test team, and when I say a fresh face I mean someone better than Doolan.

Ferg, Coops, Burns SHOULD all do great. I’m leaning towards Cooper at the moment. NO WAIT.. KLINGER!

Shield batsmen to watch in the race for Test spots

Actually that’s a good point. Neville plays for NSW so it’s a no brainer!

If Hartley doesn’t get the gig it will be criminal negligence on the part of the selectors.. I guess I’m used to ridiculous selections now though.

Who takes the Australian gloves next?

Just putting my stock comment in here: Bring in the Kling.

Australia's baseball tactics fail miserably against South Africa

I felt to me, being at the game, that the teamwork was poor, maybe the captaincy or coaching. I don’t mind that list on paper as individuals.

Australia's baseball tactics fail miserably against South Africa

Roussow was the highlight of the game, expected tentativeness being a debutant.. or a performance akin to OUR two debutants!.. but he played impressively.

I constantly, unerringly give Cummins rubbish for being overrated and average, but he was passable. As was Boyce. Doug the rug looks great running in but magically a pie appears when he releases.

Australia's baseball tactics fail miserably against South Africa

OK OK, Give him a baggy green. I will give him a chance. I’m taking everyone’s advice on board but Klinger is still in my squad! (You could swap him with Voges if you want).

He can go in Rimmingtons slot in my outrageous fantasy test squad. REVISED:

Rogers, Warner, Klinger, Clarke, Smith, Hartley, NCN, Johnson, Starc, Lyon, Sayers.

Haddin, Lyon and Siddle face the axe

Don’t mind me, just an irrational kneejerk reaction to a terrible series.

I’m sure Clarke will bounce back.

Haddin, Lyon and Siddle face the axe

Watto is still a very worthy pick, but I’m one of the people that thinks you should have 1 or 2 state games after injury… and actually perform in them.. before you get thrust back into the AUS team.

Haddin, Lyon and Siddle face the axe

I don’t think Doolan deserved a shot. Yet again they crud on about him getting a big score for Aus A against South Africa YEARS ago.

I just get really shitty when they reward form from season and seasons ago and ignore guys that are ON FIRE… RIGHT NOW.

Haddin, Lyon and Siddle face the axe

I keep forgetting Rogers had a wonderful county season. I will give him another chance.

Haddin, Lyon and Siddle face the axe

My rating system is often biased! I will admit that. Especially when it comes to harping on about Klinger.

I’m warming to Voges. I never liked him in AUS colours much. Now Klinger is at the Warriors I will be paying a lot more attention to them, and my opinion of Voges will probably change.

With NCN I suppose stats don’t lie, I just don’t like the look of him bowling. May be a poor reason 🙂 If Maxi rates him, I will try and watch more of him in the shield.

Haddin, Lyon and Siddle face the axe

Behrendorff would be a better choice for tests than NCN.. it seems NCN is just a Johnson clone. Should only put him in if Johnson is injured or underperforming. I’d probably put NCN in ODI or T20 teams because he can slog it.

Haddin, Lyon and Siddle face the axe

They have to, his recent batting renaissance on top of his domestic-destroying keeping .

It even breaks through my Redbacks bias so surely the selectors will see it now.

Haddin, Lyon and Siddle face the axe

Who cares. When he has actually played in the last couple of years he has looked average.

Why do they keep rattling on about his debut test performance.. he may never get back to that level again after the first injury.

I don’t think the form he has displayed lately warrants selection, in fact I think it’s unfair to the other guys in much better form.

Cummins to make return in Twenty20

Hartley if it happens right now. I love Ludes, and I’ve been very impressed with Whiteman.

AUS selectors will probably pick Whiteman on potential, for the future… as they always seem to go for that.

If I use my brain best keeping/batting form combo RIGHT NOW is Chris Hartley.

Ludeman has some highlights that could sway the decicion of the selectors. I’ve been following the Redbacks closely over the past 2 years and his batting has actually been fairly decent. He would be my fantasy team pick.

Who takes the Australian gloves next?

OK Ronan, I admit it was more a gut feeling when skimming results about Burns form in the recent past (compared to a couple of seasons ago when he was very solid)

If CA get their shiznit together and put Cam White in the ODI team.. I will let Joe Burns have a slot in the test team. Maybe even ahead of my favourite Mr Klinger!..

Haddin, Lyon and Siddle face the axe

I’m a big fan and disappointed he didn’t get selected in any of the Aus teams in 2010, I still think he is one of the more sensible (and useful) BBL openers, his Domestic One Day stats speak for themselves.. and he only a couple of shield games ago hit 200+ for the Redbacks.

Last year he was named in the Aus A team that played England, so you’d say he is vaguely on the fringe of national selection, but the recently announced version of the Aus A team was youth biased.

I will still be tracking his progress. I actually hope both whiteman and Klinger get into one of the AUS teams in 2014, don’t care which one.

What will Klinger bring to Western Australia?

Forgot about Rogers, I guess I’m just not a fan although I applauded his selection before the away Ashes. OK, ok, Remove Klinger, add Rogers.

My Aussie Test squad for Pakistan tour

Not ashamed to admit I’m a Klinger fan and still think he has something to offer AUS cricket, most likely in the ODI form admittedly (although I though he would’ve been a good T20 fit)

You didn’t complain about my sneaky inclusions of Tom Cooper and Sam Whiteman though? I’m over Haddin, loved his Ashes contribution but its time for a succession plan.

Whiteman has been very good with the gloves for WA and very handy with the bat in pressure situations.

My Aussie Test squad for Pakistan tour

OK, time to get cracking after that 3 game false start!

Sanderson hails Crows' showing

1. David Warner
2. Michael Klinger
3. Tom Cooper
4. Michael Clarke
5. Steve Smith
6. Shane Watson
7. Sam Whiteman
8. Mitchell Johnson
9. James Faulkner
10. James Pattinson
11. Nathan Lyon

If North hadn’t retired I’d put him in there.. you have to reward Shield form, and not give failing batsmen so many chances (Marsh and Doolan were too hit an miss in that 3 test series in SA) I’m also still a bit iffy on Pattinson. I’d have Lynn, Maxwell, O’Keefe and Sayers in the larger squad.

My Aussie Test squad for Pakistan tour

I’ve always thought Henriques was bog average.. but his batting has certainly improved. This season and last season he has been a good shield batsman. I’m now willing to give him another go.

I’m really happy they have recognised the efforts of Whiteman and put him in the provisional Aus A squad, he has been great with the gloves and VERY handy with the bat.. and this is coming from a Redbacks fan who would normally pimp out Ludeman instead.

Also good to see Tom Coopers good season (and decent T20 world cup) recognised by the selectors.

Henriques can leapfrog Faulkner, Maxwell into Test side
