That’s close to unbelievable, Don. Maybe the Westralian should get “context check” as exercise would have passed spell check. Or employ sub-editors to proof read like real newspapers used to do. Not convinced by the “may or may not ” bit. Suspect it’s only one of them, lol. I once had a woman ask me for my number. I didn’t ask her for hers ‘coz I thought she’d ring me. But I was wrong. And I think Essendon will go deep into the Finals. Hope to be wrong about that too.

I can’t even understand them when they’re shouting. Not that i want to. I am partially deaf from working with noisy machinery before everyone wore ear muffs. Sent me partially deaf and I have hearing aids. I take them out at the football and the noise is still too loud. Can’t imagine what it’s like for people with good hearing but not about to put my h’ing aids in to find out.

Would the players actually wear them all the time? Or just at footy functions ? Plenty of blokes don’t like rings or any jewelry. $50K each is absurd too. $10 K absolute max IF it happens.

This is a good example how a spur of the moment action has unintended consequences. The suggestion Higgins should have let go of Allir’s arm so he could break his fall is unrealistic as it all happened so quickly. Looks to me Higgins tried to get his arm around Allir for an effective tackle but couldn’t make it and just hung on to his arm as that’s all he had hold of and had no idea in that nano-second his head would hit the ground. I suspect the three match suspension is a result of the concussion . I don’t think Higgins was careless – he was just a desperate small player tackling a bigger one , getting it wrong with an unfortunate result. (I’m not a St. Kilda supporter.)

@ RT. It’s all opinion though , isn’t it ? I like her voice and her commentary . Doesn’t mean either of us are right or wrong , just means we have differing perspective.

BT’s hysterical over-hyping of just about everything is so galling. A good low pass is “genius,” a bit of push and shove is gleefully extolled in the hope a punch or three get thrown, he goes on and on about crowd numbers , and that Roaming Brian nonsense is total b.s. At least we can avoid that last one with a push of the button.

Where’s he playing now , Cindy? I thought he was at Essendon VFL but isn’t on their list. My C’wood supporter mate was upset when the Pies dumped him and I was disappointed when my Hawks did the same. Seems like a good bloke too . Hope he gets another chance if he wants one.

That’s funny , @XI. Not that long ago the word “queer” was considered an insult to gays, and they didn’t like it. Got quite upset in fact. Now gays use it to describe themselves as you do. I wonder if in time the word Finlayson used will be acceptable . I am old ,and remember the time when newspapers wouldn’t / couldn’t even use the word bloody. Now you see it in print and online all the time , as well as the four letter words for poo and horizontal folk dancing . Times change, and these days quicker than they used to.

Almost the same here , Blink. But what i did – and do in similar circumstances – is turn off the tv but keep the AwFL website open on my phone and check the score occasionally while doing something else. I had an inkling Freo would come back as nearly all the scoring had been at one end and they were kicking that way in the last quarter.
