Average – Storm
Average-Poor – Sharks, Raiders, Parra, Souths, Knights, Cowboys
Poor – Titans, Dragons, Tigers

I’m referring to the club agreeing to transition him to fullback over the years, and then not only not following through with that plan, but shifting him to the opposite centre, and now to the wing. Plans can obviously change, and that’s absolutely fine, but a lot of that comes from the ineptitude of the way the club has been run, from top to bottom. Everyone could foresee that McGregor wasn’t the answer, but they decide to persist and extend only to bin him a few months later. Likewise Griffin, that was simply never going to work but they held on forever and a day, while every single player regressed under him.
I agree that Lomax came into first grade with a silver spoon in his mouth, and he could have worked harder over the years. It’s not all on him though, the club is a mess and culture starts at the top.

'Complete performance' sees Dragons stun Warriors - and Lomax rocket into Origin contention

I can’t see any issue with it at all, has he said he won’t play on the wing for NSW at some point?

Come on DP, you don’t really believe that. If he is good enough he deserves to be in the team.

‘He has turned his back on them’

I find this line so difficult to stomach, he is putting in more than ever, but has decided to move on from the only employer he has ever known in his professional life. He could just down tools like so many other people do, in all walks of life, when they resign from a position, but instead he has doubled down and worked harder than ever.

I can’t cop the abuse the guy gets for taking less money elsewhere to further his career, not as if the dragons are a model employer, they have clearly broken promises to Lomax over the years.

I think the point is that there is no way Lomax turns down a blues spot because he dislikes playing on the wing.

They won’t chip in anything, he is trying to get rid of them not the other way around

NRL News: Walker confused by 'weirdest obstruction' calls, Lomax to Eels delay frustrates Arthur, Dragons eye off Turuva

I think it begins and ends at the club he is currently at, that’s the story, end of story

Oh well mate, at least we have Jack Bird!

NRL News: Lomax set to ask for Dragons release, Gus says depleted Broncos 'vulnerable', Katoa inks new deal

It was a back ended contract from what I understand though, and now he is on fullback money as the original plan was that he would become the long term fullback.

I don’t disagree that he hasn’t developed enough to warrant the move but how much is down to the environment around him? He has been shuttled about in the centres in the last two seasons, and now has been put on the wing. I can understand his frustration that the plan he was sold has not come to be, and he is now being used as a battering ram winger.
Not only that, but it seems as though the club are putting faith in Bird above Lomax, which doesn’t pass the eye test
I think it’s one of situations where an exit will be good for all parties involved, tend to think he’ll flourish within a better structure, and the dragons can free up some space in the cap.

NRL News: Lomax set to ask for Dragons release, Gus says depleted Broncos 'vulnerable', Katoa inks new deal

The dragons signed him on fullback money years ago on the proviso they move him to fullback, in reality they haven’t played him in his favoured position in over two years.

Blame isn’t solely on the dragons but they have not covered themselves in roses here.

Contracts are a funny thing these days mate

Api days are here again as hooker rises from sick bed to inspire Benji's Tigers to Sharks boilover

Absolutely agree, at the very least I wanted to see a team that was hard to beat, a team that other teams supporters don’t want to play. Instead they are rolling over and allowing the opposition to fill their boots. It’s happened under multiple coaches now, so it’s clear that there is a bit clean out needed in the playing roster. They are a soft touch.

Strange that the storm v warriors game has changed this year, thought that was becoming quite a tasty tradition

It reminded me of a try Nightingale scored years ago against the Sharks, although he didn’t get half as high as Coates did last night

I’m liking what I’m hearing, they are not looking at the short term but trying to position the long term. That’s long been the problem the dragons have had.
