Very happy with a come from behind win, but improvement is needed.
All the talk of Manly being a one man team is right- they just have the wrong man. Our most important player is DCE. Even when he has an ordinary game he still throws a pass like he did last night which along with Sivo’s brain explosion, sunk the Eels.
If, or when Turbo goes down you have Koula or Garrick fill in. Who would fill in for Cherry-Evans?

I like it, Geoff. When Manly beat Penrith the other week, Edwards was electric. Every time he got the ball he looked dangerous in an otherwise listless Panthers performance.

What a terrible shock this is. I still remember he scored one of the great tries against the Roosters (who I think he debuted with) in a Monday night game in ’97. Used power and speed to get on the outside of 3 defenders to score in the corner, then got up and gave the Easts players a literal spray. Vintage Tezza. He was a great servant to Manly and will be missed. Vale.

There are a lot of comments hereabouts how poor Manly were. Still got the two points and that’s important. Kudos to the Titans for not giving up though. They are a better team than 0-6 would suggest. Hopefully they can get themselves a win soon.

Yeah, it’s that old Manly “hardness” that is missing. The skills and fitness can be drilled into players, but I don’t know that you can teach them how to just play a tougher brand of footy.

It is getting more difficult to refute the claim that ‘NSW doesn’t get origin.’ As a state we have to ask some tough questions, the most unpalatable being that is this the best we can do? Of course it is not. We must completely overhaul the coaching staff and playing group and start picking the best 13 players by position, not by reputation or club combination. Congratulations to the Maroons. They just do it better than we do and deserve the win.
