It’s a good opportunity for Manly to show that they can win win without a full-strenth team. Looking forward to it.

Round 5 Team Lists Late Mail: De Belin cleared, Manly star hobbled, Reynolds returns, Cowboys hit by injuries

Dunno, GB. The Knights have been showing a bit of ticker lately and I reckon we really have our work cut out for us.

Yeah, he’s definitely a player of the future.

Don’t forget Souths. That’s been rich ground for us over the years, too. Craig Field certainly comes to mind. I wonder if he’s still in the Big House.

“Norths got what they deserved.” Does that restore the natural order of things, Choppy?

Pretty much anyone but Harper! I saw him playing for Blacktown last week and he looked at home there.

You win some, you lose some. That’s footy.

Yeah, I reckon the Bunnies will be a real Premiership force when they get their full strength pack on the field.

ANALYSIS: 13 points enough as Souths celebrate Sattler with Golden Point win over Manly - but key Demetriou move backfires

Very magnanimous of you GB. That was a gutsy win by the Bunnies and they deserved the win and Manly will be better for the run.

Nice. It used to be Manly!

Are we witnessing a loss of form from Tedesco? The last few times I’ve seen him, he just seems out of sorts and not the champion we know him to be. Same goes for the Chooks actually, but they do have a lot of big names on the sideline.

ANALYSIS: Roosters scratch out Warriors win, but lose Brandon Smith with star major doubt for Souths

I never cease to be amazed by how critical we can be of teams after one game. It’s a bit like sacking someone on their first day in a new job because they don’t work like someone who’s been there for years.

I wonder if it’s not time to overhaul how the concussion replacement system works. Perhaps the reserve grade team travels with first grade and provides a like-for-like substitute for concussions. For example, if Ponga goes for an HIA, the 5/8 for Newcastle reserves comes straight on. It could also benefit young players who get a shot at the big time when they otherwise would not. We saw something like that in the cricket, with Warner being subbed out for another batsman. Just an idea…

Hagan’s Round 1 Talking Points: Concussion checks, Dolphins dazzling, Ponga at pivot, Penrith’s GF hangover

I’ve thought for a while that we could do worse than play Tommy as the roving centre he plays for NSW. And Garrick is a gun at fullback.

Just how good is your side's spine?

Thanks mate, I reckon it will be very interesting to see how both teams play given the poor results over the past few seasons.

All excellent points, TB and Better Than Ezra was “Good.”

Magnanimous in defeat as always from our friend in Penrith.

And no fear. Penrith looked vulnerable tonight.

Oh, dear. Our correspondent from Penrith will be most displeased.

Manly looked good again last night, but there is a big difference between pre-season games and Premiership rounds. Not getting too excited yet.

Maniac.

FLEM'S VERDICT: Head must come back but Aussies need to change game plan or they’ll get another thrashing

I’m glad you like your Rugby League, Tim, but maybe leave history to the experts.

Brandon Smith in the top ten? The bloke who had to leave his old club so he could get a full time gig at hooker?

It’s alright, Phil. We’re used to it!
