Yeah good response, we were bad before thorn so we should never strive to be better!

Crusaders too good for clumsy Reds as Petaia, Wright star to push Wallabies credentials

Reds are just terrible. No other way to express it. Tight 5 are nowhere near standard, back row ok, but lack muscle and energy, backline slow and clunky.
Petaia is a star, the rest are just average.
Put a fork in the padre, he’s done. His one truck pony has signed for the rebels, and the rest of the stable looks like dog food

So yes, my first comment would seem correct? Or due to other reasons?

Super Rugby Pacific: Rebels flying, Force flailing, and how do you rank the Tahs? First month report card

Or ask the Higlanders.

Super Rugby Pacific: Rebels flying, Force flailing, and how do you rank the Tahs? First month report card

Reds, on par? Interesting, is that on par because they had such a weak squad list and weren’t expected to do well?
Would assume management after 5 years of the Padre at the helm they would be doing a bit better than they are, or are they just marking time as this is just Thorn’s death walk until they sign someone better?
Started his tenure with a hiss and a roar at Suncorp, now just delivering a drawn out sigh.
I’m not angry, just disappointed.
I like the thought of bringing kids through the system, but when they aren’t good enough, should look at signing from outside to fill gaps. That tight five is horrible. The backline lacks spark (Except Jordie). sigh…….

Thorn is a big man baby who doesn’t like to be told he’s wrong.

'They've got that wrong': Reds denied in wildly controversial finish as Rebels hold on in epic comeback win

Reds just look flat and uninterested this year. Tight 5 is just dire. How is nongorr, faesslar and Zander the best options available? Surely there’s got to be someone even slightly decent available somewhere? Few players playing themselves out of WC contention. Tate, Wilson, JOC, Urdu, Cambell just doing nothing.
Petaia only real shining light from a disastrous year so far.
Just a disorganised rabble.

Just a clunky junky mess from the Waratahs. Not sure what the game plan is. Not really impressed with any tahs, even Gleeson looked off.
What has happened to hooper? Looks a shadow of his former self. Looks totally uninterested.
Yucky

'Dig our way out': NSW not panicking yet despite clunky loss as Tahs sweat on injured star trio

Just dreadful from the reds, backs were slow and ponderous, forwards were powderpuff and loose. Lynagh was rubbish, did nothing. Tate was rubbish. Gonna be a loooong season for reds fans.

'Broken record': Ill-disciplined Reds given 'reality check' as Hurricanes make Lynagh's debut a tough one

So instead of getting help for the guys and educating them about the dangers of drugs, cast them aside and make a stand….hmmm, nice one Brad. Hope your kids don’t make any mistakes, may end up on the streets after you “take a stand”
His lack of retention of senior players shows he is missing something
Poor man manager, poor at retaining players, poor game management.
He brought a certain toughness to the Reds, but not much else. Need someone with a bit more rugby nous than, ” hit people hard”
Thanks Brad. I get it, I just don’t buy into it.

Exclusive: 'There needed to be change' - Thorn on turning Reds around, why drugs battles were personal, and his future

3 Rugby World Cup Finals and that fairytale for Japan….. seems ok to me.

'Major coup': Rennie axed with Eddie Jones returning as Wallabies coach on mammoth deal for two Cups

What metric has Rennie had more success in the last two years that Jones is a “loser” and Rennie is doing well?
Do we know if Rennie had his best team available results would have been better?
Does Jones get the same dispensation for his record?

'Major coup': Rennie axed with Eddie Jones returning as Wallabies coach on mammoth deal for two Cups

I’ll answer the last part as the rest of your argument doesn’t make a lot of sense to me. Both teams have had a really poor year, hence why both coaches were sacked.

'Major coup': Rennie axed with Eddie Jones returning as Wallabies coach on mammoth deal for two Cups

Jones 75% (most successful English coach in terms of %)
Rennie 38% (worst Australian coach in terms of winning %)
Jones had two poor seasons… Rennie had 3 poor seasons.
Trying to figure out where Rennie has a better record????? Maybe my maths isn’t as good as yours?

'Major coup': Rennie axed with Eddie Jones returning as Wallabies coach on mammoth deal for two Cups

Dislike the guy as much as you like, however obviously Jones is a much more complete and experienced coach than Rennie, and his record speaks volumes.
Wallabies were losing and not looking like they were building anything, had to be done.

'Major coup': Rennie axed with Eddie Jones returning as Wallabies coach on mammoth deal for two Cups

Rennie’s sacking was obvious, especially once he started talking badly about RA and chatting to overseas clubs. Jones was always going to be the target, his record speaks for itself, however shocked we can afford him!

'Major coup': Rennie axed with Eddie Jones returning as Wallabies coach on mammoth deal for two Cups

That game was all about the cards, what happy gas was that referee on? Tarantino that was a sloppy mess of a game , each team played with 13 men and the team that scored the list tries in that period won. It was just silly

'I’m the eternal optimist': Rennie's Wallabies pull off remarkable 21-point comeback as next gen stands up

Facts have no place here

WALLABIES TEAM: Rennie springs No. 10 surprise, Rebels prop set to debut, Wright returns to fullback

Rennie’s probably (who knows really) a good tactical coach (So people say, yet to see it eventuate cough cough, extenuating circumstances with injuries), but he has proven to be a terrible selector, awful at developing young players and appalling at his bench substitutions.

WALLABIES TEAM: Rennie springs No. 10 surprise, Rebels prop set to debut, Wright returns to fullback

It is what it is, there’s not really great depth of options. Gordon has been terrible so doesn’t deserve the start, but guess they want the combination with Donaldson. Tate hasn’t really impressed either so not a big deal.
Fingers has been a liability, but Lonergan isn’t anywhere near test standard. (Not sure what Kaitu’u did to drop so far down the pecking order)
Lelesio must have shot Rennie’s dog, but Rennie’s not the best selector so who knows what’s goes on in that guys mind. His bench selections and substitutions have been puzzling at best, actually, they’ve been appalling.
Wright at fullback, yeah that’ll end well I’m sure, he’s a safe option back there
Hannigan is average, Talakai, Robertson…I mean it makes pretty depressing reading, but there’s no other options available right now so lets just hope for the best. It’s often times like these we produce our best performances….. Wallabies are a hopeless rabble right now so not like we can sink much lower…..
Saying that, Carn’ the Wallaby!

WALLABIES TEAM: Rennie springs No. 10 surprise, Rebels prop set to debut, Wright returns to fullback

Not out of Rennie’s thinking just yet then….

Response in Dublin: Three Wallabies ‘betters’, still one lingering ‘but’

Haha, yeah, your words were, “didn’t look terrible”….. well there’s a ringing endorsement!

Response in Dublin: Three Wallabies ‘betters’, still one lingering ‘but’

He’s rocks and slightly shinier rocks.

Bring back Beale: Tahs veteran the key to fixing Wallabies' astounding lack of attacking variety

Good article but I have to disagree with point 2, our attacking shape did not look good. Very predictable one up running off Valentini, easily contained by Ireland. No slick attacking structure. No keeping it tight to earn the right to go wide, no brilliant set play moves like Italy treated us to last week. It was all very ho hum. We rarely threatened, we looked impotent and the scoreboard reflected it.
Yes the caveat is that we had to reshuffle due to injuries, which says to me the effort is not there in training, which I think Nic White suggests in his interview and defense of Rennie, that the team just is not doing what Rennie is asking.
Defense was immense and can’t fault the effort (again the caveat is Ireland are just as important with Sexton, have always been so reliant on him for attack)
I’m really just not seeing a cohesive team playing a structure and game plan of a group thats had 3 years to learn something. They just look….meh….

Response in Dublin: Three Wallabies ‘betters’, still one lingering ‘but’

Yeah you’re right, it was a close loss, let’s just call it a win!

Can we also claim the WC if we are gallant losers?…….oh, no, actually we still lose……..

Did New Zealand feel good about losing the cricket WC on a count back of the fours they hit? probably not

Did we feel good in 2003 losing by a drop goal? again, probably not.

No a loss is still a loss. But good for you feeling so chipper about not getting thrashed!
