That’s not true. Go back through the wallaby teams when the waratahs have been bad and there have been very few waratahs featured eg 2021 when they lost everything, they had from memory Angus Bell and Jake Gordon start a few and I think one other get a start at all.

Five burning questions: How many Tahs and Force players will end up in gold, and is this farewell Melbourne?

Do you have the numbers at the moment? I’d be surprised if that was the case, I would think the Brumbies would have the biggest top ups.

I mean, it’s good to support your team passionately but I don’t understand the need to constantly tear down and hate on supporters of other teams. Sadly there are a bunch of people here who are just genuinely nasty people.

And yet they didn’t look a shambles on Saturday night, which is what the comment I was replying to said.

You mean when they buy players developed in NSW because NSW are limited by squad size and salary cap? Nah, never happens.

The waratahs have a salary cap, the same cap as every other team. So they aren’t spending any more money than anyone on players. You get how maths works?

Get your hand off it.

I mean, Harrison has only officially announced he is leaving yesterday, presumably the ink only dried on the contract recently. So we’re now not selecting a player the last few weeks because there was a rumour he might be leaving? Just feels like a confected reason to throw shade.

Reds own the stadium being the key. Only thing saving them from the same fate as the others.

DC and Doorn mostly I guess.
Apart from that Canes game (and let’s be honest, we all knew that was coming), the tahs have rolled their sleeves up every week and made their opponents work hard. They haven’t been pushovers. And they’ve continued to do that despite a horrendous injury toll. What they lack right now is the polish and the confidence to finish the job.
In the bizarre world that is SR, their season still isn’t over and if they were to win out and the drua lose 2 and the crusaders lose 1, they would be in the 8. That isn’t a terrible equation, if they had beaten the brumbies then they would only have needed to win out and have the drua drop 1 which would have meant things were largely in their own control. Why would DC not pick the team he felt was his strongest in that scenario? If their chances had ended 6 weeks ago then sure, invest in the future, but if you’re still alive surely you have to do what you think will help you win?

I’m not sure even you have a clue what you’re talking about. It’s the tahs fault that you don’t get ads for next year’s Lions tour in Perth?

You should get an $18 kebab to go with your $13.50 beer.

Darcy Swain is going to the force yet is starting for the brumbies this weekend. I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s article about Larkham’s bizarre selection policies.

Heheh. I’m happy to trade all the talent we’ve borrowed from elsewhere if all the other SR clubs give back ours.

You want people to suffer. What a pleasant chap you are.

It doesn’t really hurt, you know. Too scarred from too many years of failure, not just the tahs but the wallabies as well, that I’m not going to let them hurt me.
I’m more annoyed because I think it was a poor article that doesn’t seem to have any point other than to throw shade at the tahs. And now the baying dogs are all over it, blaming NSW for everything that has ever gone wrong in Australian rugby. Those people make the roar an unpleasant place to be, and I wish they’d go back to kicking puppies and leave the roar to people who want to have intelligent conversations with other people who love rugby. A forlorn hope, perhaps.

Do they though? Did they look a shambles on Saturday night?

COMMENT: Bizarre selection call that sums up chaos and disconnect at Super Rugby's biggest basket case

Until the rest of the country stops blaming NSW for all of their problems, nothing will change. Because why look at your own failings when you have a ready scapegoat there instead?

Lol. Reds are doing fine because the government gave them a stadium. Force are doing fine because they have a rich benefactor. Hooray for their lucky circumstances, please don’t pretend they’d be any better off than the rebels, tahs and brumbies otherwise.

Yes, Australian rugby is in a fine state except for the Waratahs.

COMMENT: Bizarre selection call that sums up chaos and disconnect at Super Rugby's biggest basket case

It is bizarre that the Brumbies have picked Darcy Swain to start on the weekend, even though he has signed for the Force? Where is his loyalty? If we’re going to be consistent, that should be an equally bizarre selection, shouldn’t it?

Agree, all of those 3 would be terrible outcomes for the tahs. Gilmore is part of the team at the moment and apparently has a big role there, Grey really hasn’t achieved much yet, he needs to go overseas and get some more experience, ditto Hoiles, far too early for him.

It’s a ‘kick a tah day’ today, apparently. That should keep the dogs happy.
“Bizarre selection call”? Harrison has been looking better than Edmed the last few weeks but they can’t afford to keep him, given he was there on “peanuts’ this year and would now want a whole lot more money as a player who might actually play more than a couple of games over three seasons. It doesn’t mean you don’t start the guy who you feel gives you the best chance of winning. Or are you suggesting that as soon as someone signs for anywhere else, they should be dropped from the team as they clearly aren’t the future for that club? That would be consistent with Harrison’s case, wouldn’t it? Looking to see that philosophy applied to the critiques of all of the other clubs as the season draws to a close.
Meanwhile, Coleman. Can’t win, can they? Get torn a new one for wanting to make a decision earlier in the season, then get torn a new one for not wanting to make a decision until after the season. Gee it’s easy to sit on the sidelines and throw stones, isn’t it?
Oh, and they’re apparently pushovers, these tahs, even the cubs would beat them. Not what I saw out there on Saturday night, when a scrum starting Bob from down the road at prop more than held its own while the tahs pushed the #1 Australian side all the way to the end. Didn’t see much lying down and rolling over there, I saw a bunch of guys giving their all.
I normally like your stuff Christy but this is just a hatchet job.

Disappointing but hardly the end of the world. The deathriding of the tahs is old, now the Roar are just using dramatic headlines to stir up the baying dogs some more.

It’s good when you have a scapegoat and never have to turn the lens on your own failings, isn’t it?
