So it’s always all about the money these days? Imagine someone having the conviction of their own beliefs?

Maybe Qantas should press the UAE, owners of affiliate airline Emirates, about criminalizing homosexuality?

Folau fired: Rugby Australia axe Israel

Really?- a grown man heckled by a 13 year old girl. Cry me a river. It was an embarrassment. The word ape is not the sole domain of any particular race.

Maybe primates would be concerned about the appropriation of their species to define homo sapiens?

Slater: Boos mean they respect me

Smith will be holding the whistle- ‘It’s so life-like.’

Statues planned for Storm duo

It’s more directed towards the officialdom of the game that allows it to get to this point I reckon.

May I note, unlike the booing of Goodes, no one states- ‘It’s because of his race.’ Fans love a villain- regardless.

Slater: Boos mean they respect me

The trip? That’s now a fine also.

NRL Grand Final 2018 kick-off bingo: When will Sydney Roosters vs Melbourne Storm actually start?

Exactly.

Grand final bound! Billy Slater free to play NRL decider

It was called a shoulder charge clearly on the field. A shoulder charge, any shoulder charge whether put on report by the on field ref or not, automatically attracts a charge from the MRC and the minimum grade 1 ranking is 200 points. In other words, a suspension.

Like an Allan Langer trip. It can’t be a trip when you use your arm to sling them over your outstretched leg.

There was nothing in the adjudication that stated the right arm was doing anything in attempting to make a legal tackle. From any of the footage there is no suggestion that the arm even swept Feki’s fringe from his eyes.

Grand final bound! Billy Slater free to play NRL decider

Get the ref’s boss out there to hang the referees out to dry and publicly state that they are incompetent, don’t know the rules and what they saw and adjudicated was absolutely wrong.

Maybe some more recent examples of shoulder charge adjudication is warranted rather from way back in 2016.

#FreeBilly! Storm the courts if you must, Melbourne

Stop passing the ball late at the defensive line and you don’t get hit. It’s not late at normal speed and if Cronk dummies and runs and the defender is not committed, all and sundry would be rounding on him. Where an example is late give them 3-4 weeks, no question.

Cooper Cronk gets absolutely flattened by cheap shot

In May, Tapine gets 2 weeks bundling Dufty into touch shoulder to shoulder. No one bats an eyelid. Stop with the ‘It’s the vibe, your Honour’ defence. It’s an embarrassment.

Does this unpunished incident show Slater has been hard done by?

Tapine was rubbed out in May for 2 weeks shoulder to shoulder on Dufty running down the touchline. All he heard in his defence was crickets.

Slater is guilty but shouldn’t miss the grand final

In May Raider’s Tapine comes across in cover on Dufty running up yhe touchline on the stroke of halftime against the Dragons. Dufty kicks as Tapine is about to bundle him out. Tapine is coming at him from about 90 degrees, contacts with shoulder to shoulder and is subsequently banned for 2 games.

No complaints about the ruling then. Why is this instance any different?

Billy Slater can mount a serious challenge to a shoulder charge

Seeing Slater was being attended to by the docs in this instance there was no slowing down of the play because there wasn’t any play for quite a period. Other times, yes it’s a tactic that most captains use. Very much like giving away successive penalties when their line is under threat.

Let the Slater incident be a lesson for match officials

The spin on the tackled player on the ground while reaching over the shoulder putting the hand on the ball before getting up in front of the play the ball and then pushing your leg or knee forward under the chest of the rising player to keep the ball from being placed on the ground. Repeat, repeat and repeat.

I wouldn’t care if my team was getting blasted for ill discipline and infringements as long as it’s consistent and pinged EVERY time no matter where a team sits on the ladder or what point in the game.

Warren Smith’s article was spot on.

Blow that whistle, ref

Stealing Wade Graham’s mouthguard – tucked it in his sock he did, then smacking him in the chops when he’s running the ball up making him leave the field under the blood rule.

Be careful not to open your mouth while your heads in the sand.

Correction- ALL players must be protected.

Watch league much Ken? Just google Cam Smith dog acts. There you go.

Why was Sia Soliola not sent off? Ask Tony Archer

I was at the game. At one point in the first half Chechin puts the whistle to his mouth about to blow one for the Storm continuing to burrow in on the tackled player on the ground, then puts the whistle back in his pocket. So he thinks it’s a penalty but by the time he gets the whistle to his mouth it becomes play on. How does that make any sense?

Chechin tells Smith to get back the 10 on the goal line- Smith completely blanks him and in fact takes two more ‘go on you won’t blow it’ steps towards the ruck. Chechin turns and looks the other way. Smith makes the next tackle 5 out right in front of the sticks.

Says everything about the refs standing in the game. Stop calling players by their first or last names. Enforce, to the letter, the rules of the game.

It’s the selective application of the rules that it has got to this point. Just look at the play the ball this year- you’d think they are playing tunnel ball. Running kick chasers off the ball?- flip a coin. Inside the ten- who really cares? I’m over these deers in the headlights. Next round they should blow the pea out of the whistle for every single infringement. I don’t care if there’s 20 penalties in a game- the players and coaches especially will get the message. It’s farcical Greenberg, you’re ruining the game.

Why was Sia Soliola not sent off? Ask Tony Archer

Was at the game- refs and the assistants were woeful- hence the loss of control of the game. Selective application of running people off the kicked ball is a major issue. The wrestle on the ground and the ten metres also- Cameron Smith was constantly in front in the one half he played.

These are things that also happened in the game not just the hit on Slater. That happened right in front of us. Super slow mo does no favours but Slater being so crafty and quick, if he dummies and Sia doesn’t commit to him he’d be apologising to his teammates for letting in a soft try.

This is not a game for the faint hearted. Slater has courage in spades and I’m sure he’s aware that running and playing the ball that close to the defensive line has a downside. Many players in the second half were having trouble with their footing as the pitch took on dew.

Canberra Raiders vs Melbourne Storm highlights: NRL live scores, blog

On the very last play of the game the Broncos cover defence on the Souths winger- I believe it was Gillett- clearly uses his leg to either strike at the ball or trip the player. Obviously the refs missed it but surely the match review committee should be suspending him for at least a week I would think.
