Disagree 100%

U cannot compare Australia with Brazil and Madrid.

Australian fans are getting picky, we are winning games, but now we criticize how we are doing so? The style of football Verbeek has introduced has carried us to a World Cup, thats the only piece of information we should be caring about.

Verbeek is to blame for the boring Socceroos

you are correct in what you say regarded our budget, but from what ive gathered the coaches will see it more as a challenge then a financial investment. Take Guus Hiddink. The man could have had a job at any club around the world, yet he chose our nation to coach, why? because of “The challenge”.

Frank Rijkaard has already expressed interest, Van Basten is currently unemployed, Johan Neeskens, as you said, is assistant manager at Galatasaray and Beenhakker is the technical director at Feyenoord. Louis van Gaal is the less of the more likely being manager at Bayern, but the others are not out of contention.

Rijkaard is under media pressure at Gala, and the Australian soccer chiefs have already targeted him as a priority pick up. Rijkaard is very familiar with two Australians already (Kewell and Neil) which may make his decision easier.

Next Socceroos coach has to be Dutch

Its not everyday you kick 926 goals. Give the club a break. Joe Blogs throw one good pass in the Superbowl and his name is carved into every sporting arena around the state. This was a one off lets remember that. Stevie G you are obviously not a bombers fan therefore cannot appreciate what this man has given to our club over the duration of his 15 year stint.

And for goodness sake dont bring Eddie McGuire into this. This is the man whose media cv looks about as appealing as Richmonds style of football. Im contemplating putting forward the idea to name one of my school cubicles the “McQuire End” to highlight the crap that he has given us over the years.

The Matthew Lloyd End? Give me a break!

If you asked me the run of lynch across the ground has dictated the level of success for the eagles to some extent over the years. Nicoski may have more in the tank, but from what ive seen he may as well be wearing the oppositions jumper. The axing of Lynch contradicts the WCE forward line structure in a sense. With a tall forward line and arguably one of the games best small forwards to feed off the scraps, the deep ball is better suited to the eagles style of play. Now I’m no genius but who would you rather Butcher Nicoski or Big Q Lynch to be delivering long balls from the center line, i’d be inclined to suggest Mr. Lynch was the more capable option.

People are turning down a day at the cricket mainly due to a number of reason, one being television. It is easily accessed and requires little movement. In today’s society, humans are being overpowered by lazy traits that in this scenario are holding them back from going to a live cricket match. Television has sponsored and promoted laziness for years, this you cannot argue.

In regards to broadcasting rights, yes, this is bolstering television test cricket, but it’s deterring crowd numbers. Test cricket cannot continue if every year numbers are continuing to drop.

I believe another reason for a lack of interest in Test Cricket is the lifestyle of today’s average person. With technology advancements comes a demand for things to be done quickly and efficiently, we are basing a high percentage of our decisions and investments on how quick it can be done. The speed of the internet and cars, the time it takes for household appliances to get the job done, how long it takes to get somewhere, these are common question that we are asking today.

This need for speed has rubbed off on the things we do, the things we enjoy. Test match cricket last five long days, twenty20 is a compromise that gives this inpatient society a variety of the game that’s based around speed.

Television is killing Test cricket, not Twenty20

Yes, they still have table position and a number of good results in European tournements, this i am not doubting. What i am suggesting is that its far closer in terms of competative matches. In years gone Man Utd, Chelsea, liverpool and Arsenal have gone through nearly unscaved, this year in the Premierleague as well as many Cups, they have seen far improved opposition, this you cannot argue, i do watch the majority of games and have done for years, i just dont think you understand the point im trying to make.
