I meant a nine out of 10.

Maroons Player Ratings: DCE delivers, unsung heroes galore in the pack and Billy's big bench gamble pays off

No doubt about it – the real victims are the poor NSW fans.
How dare the ref send off a player for a hit like that.
It was clear Walsh was fine – it was all a plot to get a NSW player sent off.
And Slater was in on it – he masterminded it – by selecting Walsh he dangled him as bait – his selection of Cobbo was all part of his master plan.
Damn you Slater!
I blame the NRL too – how dare they try to protect players in this age of a focus on the dangers of concussion.
What a cheek.
Don’t they understand NSW fans had to leave home and travel to Accor and buy tickets and queue for food?
What a betrayal.
They deserve to see 13 v 13 no matter what happens on the field – no one should be sent off – for anything.

I am deeply uninterested in Gorden Tallis and his opinions.

Great to see.

'It wasn't pretty': Flanagan's half-time spray propels Dragons to improbable comeback win over Panthers

More garbage served up by Cronulla.
Apparently they missed “the jump” again according to Fitzgibbon.
I reckon it’s a disinterest in tackling but there you go.
Either way – dreadful.

PS.
Any Cronulla fans know what the situation is with Hamlyn-Uele?
He came back from injury briefly but now gone again.

It’s Parra at Comm Bank Thursday.

Hynes limps out and Martin tweaks hamstring as Luai stars at seven in Panthers' beatdown of Sharks

Here is a partial answer to your question – Cronulla never came close to scoring and Penrith made almost 1000m more – wow.
Paper thin defence.
Lack of effort at times.
Nicho found out under intense pressure.

'I like the club and what it stands for': Bennett confirms his return to Souths on three-year deal

On NRL 360 last night the boofheads Graham, Tallis and Anasta wasted heaps of time with Bennett conspiracy theories and followed their “gut” in claiming he would sign with Parra. Rothfield was right of course. What a disaster that ‘show’ is now.

'I like the club and what it stands for': Bennett confirms his return to Souths on three-year deal

Great game, great win.
Plenty of posities for both sides.
It was, as some commentators said, a shootout.
On the night the Sharks had a touch more firepower – they can attack as well as they can defend.
The Roosters were indeed missing Manu – a big loss sure – but Cronulla was missing Trindall, Rudolph and Hamlyn Uele (though I’m not sure both of the latter will be able to get back back in the side the way the pack and bench are going).
The loss of Trindall is significant – without him it all falls to Nicho – though Atkinson kicked quite well and defends very well – the attack came off Nicho – he needs a partner in crime.
The Roosters had Keary and Walker and still coldn’t conjure a win.
Nicho was superb, he’ll be even better when he has an experienced hand in the halves.
Now on to Penrith.
Up up.

Spot on farkurnell.

NRL Power Rankings: Round 10 - We have a new leader with Panthers hamstrung, Eels getting desperate, Storm lack oomph

And Cronulla missing half its spine too – Hynes and Trindall.

NRL Round 10 Talking Points: Sharks' statement win - and can we stop it with the North Sydney Bears talk?

What a player, what a career.

Anderson names retirement date after McCullum tells him it's time: 'It's been an incredible 20 years'

Plenty of focus by commentators and media about the missing Storm players before and after the game – Hughes, Paps.
It seems that while they’ve heard of Hynes, they have no recollection of Trindall or Rudolph.
Cronulla played with just one half – that is rare.
I was stunned pre-game when Dykes wasn’t slotted in to replace Nicho.
But the plan sure worked – dominate the Storm pack – which they did – kick and defend well and take their chances.
It worked a treat.
Brailey had one bad miss defending three in – led to a try – but otherwise rock solid taking down big Storm forwards close to the line with regularity – one tackle in particular saved a try.
Got to congratulate the Cronulla brains trust in coming up with the plan – going into a game with just one half is taking a big risk.
The game may be the making of Atkinson – he was superb.
If someone told me Cronulla would beat Melbourne with no Nicho or Trindall and just Atkinson in the halves I’d have thought they were crazy.
Overall a fantastic win considering the Storm still had Munster and Grant and were playing at home.
Someone wrote “in Fitz we trust” – I must say I do a lot more now after seeing this game.
He has a fine side to work with – the spirit is off the charts and their defence is the best in the league – Bellamy said he thought Cronulla wanted it more – maybe – and if that’s the case that’s a huge plus.
It’s a formidable side – some huge forwards, lots of class in the pack and bench, a strike weapon in Talakai, a young gun in Iro, a back five that is one of the best in the game if not the best.
And then there’s McInnes – one of Cronulla’s best ever buys – top 10 easy.
What a player.
Roosters, Penrith and Brisbane await – big tests all – but I have a lot more confidence they can pass those tests after Saturday night.
Up up Cronulla.

Well put Dumbo.

Sharks too smart in the wet for hot-and-cold Dragons to make an unhappy homecoming for Flanagan

Flanno is a legend at Cronulla and not just for winning the title – not for me anyway.
The club had no money and he took on a heap of jobs that other clubs had staff to do – not the coach.
He worked on the change rooms using his skills as a plumber.
He borrowed a mate’s truck and drove to Melbourne to pick up cheap gym equipment he’d sourced.
That’s the stuff I will never forget him for.
The sort of stuff Bennett and Bellamy have never done and never had to do – and rightly so.
A legend indeed.
But while I wish him great success at the Dragons I was delighted to see him and his mob leave PointsBet as losers.
Flanno played the media big time when, after having 60 put on his side, he turned the focus to the Cronulla game and made the point about the lack of a premiership since his departure.
The dumb media, that is distracted by shiny things, let him get away with it – the headlines were exactly what he wanted – the Cronulla game was the story – not the fact the hapless Dragons had the Roosters put 60 on them.
Well the story now is the Dragons lost, Cronulla won.
Sometimes reality can’t be wished away.
A tough, difficult and grinding match like that is just what Cronulla needed before facing Melbourne, Penrith and the Broncos in next month or so.
Thanks Flanno.

Sharks too smart in the wet for hot-and-cold Dragons to make an unhappy homecoming for Flanagan

I can’t bear Kent as a person but the show suffers greatly without him.
Tallis?
No thanks – dull, poor communicator and not interested in his views.
Did laugh when Anasta told him once that viewers weren’t interested in hearing about “the old days”.
Hear, hear.
The show has gone downhill in a big way since Ikin left – he did heaps of research and had credibility in spades.
Anasta?
A big head and smart alec.
But still preferable to Samson.
The journos at least bring info to the table and most can utter proper sentences – Ricio the best of the lot.
I watch it because I love the NRL but I sure wish it was better.
If only Sterlo would come out of his well-earned retirement …

Full of himself, prickly and easy to rile. Is there any point to NRL360 without Paul Kent?

I am not crowing.
They are indeed playing “beautiful” football – fact.
They have scored all those points – fact.
I then point out that the “big tests are coming” – fact.
Blowing away a pathetic Raiders means little – except to the sad Raiders supporters.

Hynes states claim for Origin with perfect performance as blood-thirsty Sharks devour 'embarrassed' Raiders

Cronulla are playing beautiful football.
They’ve scored 152 points in fours games and the defence is positively stingy – which is what I am mostr excited about.
The big tests are coming but they are in good shape – pity about Trindall though – these days he’s actually a big loss.

What a disaster.
