‘Losing the AFL grand final is tipped to cost Victoria’s economy between $50 million and $100 million.’

This is perhaps one of the main reasons the current deal to hold the GF at the MCG beyond our lifetimes : money.

Confirmed: AFL locks in night grand final at The Gabba

Here here! Richmond having to play Geelong at the Cattery and then potentially Adelaide at AO in 2017 creates a very different pathway. Clearly harder than playing all finals at the G.

Gift of the Gabba: How AFL's grand final decision will shape the 2020 premiership

You needed a WA team to save the VFL so you can’t have it both ways as that would make you a two-headed goat!?

Gift of the Gabba: How AFL's grand final decision will shape the 2020 premiership

Wrong it’s a national comp and the interstaters saved ‘your comp’s’ bacon.

You’re being tendentious Spruce Moose. The argument has always been about fairness and recognising a National competition. That the AFL did a deal with the Victorian Government and the MCG and did not consult the other stakeholders i.e. other State Governments, other grounds i.e. SACA remains scandalous and unethical.

It has a hill. Remember those? Heritage mean anything to you?

‘The Lions, obviously, head the list of clubs who will be benefitted by the decision. If they finish the season in good form they could yet play out an entire finals series at their home ground.’

As did Richmond in 2017 and the five other MCG tenants may well at some point in the future: Collingwood, Melbourne, Hawthorn, Essendon and Carlton.

Again reinforces the inequity of the VFL/AFL.

Highly disrespectful post! You guys at Port are all big on history, but it seems no-one else’s. Let me remind you,of what seems to have been forgotten: Tex was voted by his peers best Captain in the league two years running. That any player should have Tex as a mentor should be so lucky.

What has happened at the Crows since 2017 is reminiscent of what happened to Port after 2007. So based on your argument, Tredrea destroyed your club culture after 07?

This article itself provides no sources and yet says it is highly likely Tex will move -‘no basis in fact’ is the only thing we can agree on, and like the rest of your post has ‘no basis in fact’.

Where will Taylor Walker go if he leaves Adelaide?

It was primarily ball handling errors that’s skill and confidence.

My solutions to the maddening malaise at the Adelaide Crows

Best Captain in the league voted by his peers, two years running, 4 goals short of Modra’s record. Tex will go down as one of the greats of the Crows, no questions

My solutions to the maddening malaise at the Adelaide Crows

Don’t agree with much of this, unfortunately. Hartigan and McKay were two of the Crows best players against Geelong. The Crouch brothers provide invaluable experience in the middle. They need to recruit a couple of quick midfielders, ruckman and high flying forward.

Port are a seriously good team. Against the Bulldogs they were smashed around the ball but their defence held firm. Once they started winning the ball they were brutally efficient. Port West Coast GF for me with the latter just prevailing in a thriller.

How each side wins tonight's grand final preview

Everything is political. Saying it is not is political in itself.

The AFL's grand final venue choice might decide the premiership - just like any other year

That was when there was some honour and accountability. You never see the Lib Feds taking responsability for anything.

The AFL's grand final venue choice might decide the premiership - just like any other year

For all those smug supporters of the MCG forever holding the GF this article confirms two things: The home ground advantage it gives in the most important game of the year and YES a contract can be broken. The GF should rotate between Mel, Adel, Perth, Bris and Syd. Until it does it will never represent a truly national competition.

No Walker is still valuable and the Lever reference irrelevant.

Crows' resurgence to begin with 2020 AFL draft bounty

Crows need to play 2 ruckmen. RoB while good around the ground gets beaten too easily in the middle. So need to recruit another ruckman for next year. Their first 2 draft picks should be quick and skillful midfielders. They also need a tall forward who can crash packs. Another nippy small forward wouldn’t go astray either. Quiet a list!

Adelaide Crows season 2020: Plenty to crow about

Isn’t this the same advantage Richmond have had over the last 3 years?

An MCG grand final probably can't happen - but where else works?

Straight thru to the keeper that one 😉

An MCG grand final probably can't happen - but where else works?

The contract done between the AFL, the Victorian Government and the MCG was not representative of a national competition. No other State Governments or Grounds were consulted.

In what world is it equitable for four clubs to be guaranteed home ground advantage in a national competition?

The interstate clubs should meet and declare the contract void given it does not fairly represent teams from outside of Victoria.

The AFL GF should be rotated between Mebourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

Until that is acheived it is not a truly national competition.

The rotation can start this year.

An MCG grand final probably can't happen - but where else works?

Do you mean the sanfl and wafl who propped up a bankrupt vfl?

An MCG grand final probably can't happen - but where else works?

They played grand finals in other states as well. And their are other states in Australia too.

An MCG grand final probably can't happen - but where else works?

No incorrect. Tex was voted best captain 2 years in a row by his peers.

How to rebuild the ailing Adelaide Crows

Have a look at some past Showdowns champ and you will see that TEX has towelled you up on occasions. If he is a ‘big flog’ was does that make your mob?

Four burning questions for Adelaide ahead of the AFL restart

What a load of rubbish. Clearly you’re a Crows Hater.
Let’s take apart these opinions one by one:

Tex is still a very good player. Fogarty is one of the best kicks in the AFL which he showed when he kicked a number of goals against West Coast in Perth. Lynch is still there. They do miss Charlie Cameron.

‘Manufactured club culture’? A culture is determined by the people at the Club. The Crows have had some great people in their 30 year history. They demonstrated their capacity for change when they made a number of changes last year to coaches and players.

The training mishap has been blown out of proportion due to a lack of anything happening in the AFl. Hardly part of any so-called pattern.

We haven’t seen enough of the Crows on-field to make any judgement on Nicks. However the players have revealed his team first get to know you approach. And he was an integral part of the Swans culture – that’s with a capital C in case you missed it.

As for your last claim sounds you like you’re still haven’t got over the Crow coming into the AFL before Port and remember just like the ‘Power’ the Crows were formed from the best of the SANFL>
