i disagree but the board/club may not have the money to settle his contract (when was the last contract not paid out because of non performance?) and hangin on to Neeld may be out of financial pressures than what is next for the club for the remainder of 2013.

To me the board should take most of the blame. How does a chairman give an unproven/inexperienced coach such Neeld “carte blanche” to change the culture of the footy club. That is not the coaches job, particularly someone so green as Neeld. Maybe a Kevin Sheedy but not many other career coaches.

The tanking saga also goes back to McLardy and unfortunately when Jim Stynes was in charge. I believe the club has been rotten for some time.
As a long suffering Dees fan, the AFL needs to step in and provide resoruces ot assist Peter Jackson with his review. Its almost a Fitzroy all over again.

Mark Neeld deserves to stay on with Demons

I am a Dees fan from the late 1990’s and have watched the ongoing, ugly demise of the club I love.
No overnight solution will fix this problem but it seems the club is bereft of a “winning attitide”. I heard mark Neeld announce his desire against the Bombers was to be “competitive”. How that word can be then coached to a team and that team expected to win defies belief.
There is no silver bullet here as the Board, Management and coaching staff are all to blame (each to some extent) The players are not blameless but guys like Nathan Jones and Jack Grimes are at least having a crack.
However ultimately the board are accountable to steer the club in the right direction so McLardy must go.
In terms of coaching – Mark Neeld was the assistant to perhaps one of the greatest coaches (and high performing team) and is not equipped to coach such a young team. This team needs a Sheedy or Bomber Thompson to begin the clean out
It really pains me watching the team ATM. They can do better but are not being guided or motivated how to.

Melbourne Football Club: rotten to the core

Swans will not win, the post above is correct: Collingwood vs Hawthorn

Here's to the Swans winning the flag

problem is our rugby talent is spread too thin. Makes us look like we are lower in quality. Only grade and national when campo played as a state team would occasionally be cobbled together for a touring team. I think the players of today are better athletes but it is theri job so there is routine in what they are doing. How many tests ayear when Campo played? Maybe 4 or 5? How many now on top of Super series. Yould still argue Pocock, Genia, Cooper would make the team back then at least. Different game today as well

CAMPO: Few modern Aussie players would've made it in my era
