Definitely should play a game a season in Cairns. look at Wellington, playing a game in Christchurch getting 14k fans. interestingly after last season, wellington (one of the expansion clubs) had the fourth worst average attendance until the christchurch game.
also interesting, the clubs with the 3 worst average attendances this season are the other expansion clubs (if you take out M Heart’s derby figure).
Do the FFA actually want to keep the Fury?
Far point about the talent which comes out of the region ,but they’ve all achieved what they’ve achieved without the Fury being in place. is it really necessary? ok, maybe there’d perhaps be more talent, but if it’s a burden on the game, i dont think it outweighs that.
Do the FFA actually want to keep the Fury?
interesting to see what happens.. im not sure what value NQF add, but i guess the FFA and the A-League made a commitment to them when they let them enter the comp 2 years ago. the FFA pumped heaps of cash into the region and it hasnt really worked out. but is it too soon to give up? not sure, maybe they’re trying to pull the wool over the eyes of the Townsville public or maybe theyre really broke….

where did you hear that? bout 2015 asian cup being held in january….
Moyes resentment over Cahill’s Asian Cup ambition
decent point. so you’re saying the a-league needs more marquee players. beckham is one hell of a drawcard and the example of robbie fowler shows the novelty value of these marquees can wear off.
Galaxy friendly to be a wasted success
VPL players couldnt be worse than ricardinho, who i thnk is a joke. is his role in the team to turn over the ball?
Victory desperately needs Danny Allsop
why doesnt mate dugandzic get more of a run.. whenever he plays he’s dangerous.

“more than 130 years of history suggests football will stick around in this country for many years to come.”
I dont think the existence of the code is in doubt. but the A-League isnt 130years old. it is barely six years old. i’ve got my doubts bout the competition being sustainable in the longterm and this argument doesnt really sway my opinion.
World Cup bid won't seal A-League's fate
Isn’t that called drawing a long bow or something? Seriously anthrax?
Jeffers strong start a lesson for the A-League
You could be right, but Williams hasnt played international football for years… I’d be happy to see him have a shot, but Garcia does alright at international level, not yet certain bout Williams.
Egypt defeat raises questions ahead of Cup
it’s a problem cos Australia missed out on a talent. had we handled the situation better, we may not have missed out.
What have we learned from the Ersan Gulum saga?
Maybe Damien should be on the payroll at the FFA. he does a great job!
What have we learned from the Ersan Gulum saga?
To be fair, he’s a midfielder and has been played out of position most of his international career.
What have we learned from the Ersan Gulum saga?
Is it that simple? I thought you had to go through a FIFA process. i’m not certain its as easy as saying i pledge my allegiance here now… correct me if im wrong???
What have we learned from the Ersan Gulum saga?
I guess its also the downside of being such a multicultural nation too…
What have we learned from the Ersan Gulum saga?
and it was one of those games where it didnt really matter to the players. it wasnt in australia. it was difficult circumstances and the players may’ve lacked motivation. these things happen.

The Lions management who fronted the media yesterday seemed pretty shattered. im beginning to think they wont even ponder the salary cap implications of this decision.all these theories floating around seem off the mark. ie. Voss wont want to cut him considering what he’s given up, bradshaw, rischitelli, henderson. but the Lions wont want this guy.he’s a disgrace.
It is all over for over-exposed Brendon Fevola
Interesting comments Michael C. inciteful much?!
Don’t knock North for looking at Hobart
Can’t agree with this. I don’t see how the old ‘head count’ rule, which was hardly, if ever, used let alone imposed successfully can be compared to the new rule. They are not relative.
AFL needs to revise 'harsh' interchange infringement rule
Tend to agree, Bayman. It’s a crazy rule. Why don’t the AFL focus on what’s affecting the actual field of play. Seems ludicrous this rule and surely there’s a better way to ensure clubs don’t do it, without creating confusion, ruining the spectacle and handing out pointless free-kicks with a 50m to boot. It’s a joke.

People did have to pay a $1 transaction fee. and use their credit or debit card. its not just like claiming a free ticket off a shelf…. but i take your point
