Good comment on Eurosport about tiring out the Leaders team and next day go on the attack. Australian Richie Porte doing and fantastic jon on front second Time trial for the Tasmanian.

I still reckon BMC will work to make Team Sky protect Wiggins. Taking the yellow to early in a stage race cannot always be beneficial. Evans last year won the TdF in the last stage!

STAGE 5 Critérium du Dauphiné: Live updates, blog

Porte and Rogers on the front again. Big day for Team Sky. They will be up for it. Forget foxing for TdF, riders love to win!

Europacar going on the attack! There are some many gaps and group. Love terrain changing the deal for a race. Sky being isolated a fraction by defending the Jersey

STAGE 5 Critérium du Dauphiné: Live updates, blog

In the downhill of col de Richemond, the chasers are closing the gaps and it’s been a great display of downhill riding to try to cross the gaps. It’s only a 35 km’s to finish and if they can come together to form a solid group they could stay away.

With 9 riders only getting 30 seconds on the yellow jersey (wiggins), they will probably be caught despite heroics of the decenders.

The decent experts are showing their magic down and fortitude

Australians Porte and Rogers working hard to Catch Evans (BMC) for Wiggins (Sky). In an interview with Matt Wilson with http://www.theroar.com.au/2012/05/31/exclusive-interview-matthew-wilson-greenedge/ Wilson mentioned Australians watched the tour on TV can be confused by multiple Australians on different teams there is a perfect example

OK back to cycling. Wow is that Cadel Evans in front of Wiggins? Evans and 3 teammates have 1 minute. If you look at my preview I ask whether BMC will try to break or tire Wiggins. Boy, they have done it and great job! But not on the climb on the descent

STAGE 5 Critérium du Dauphiné: Live updates, blog

OK switching over to cruddy lap top, to be in front of TV and fire that I lit 3 hours ago for the family, hope it works but at least, I leave this cold room!…PS have to put some little ones to bed too!

STAGE 5 Critérium du Dauphiné: Live updates, blog

Any chance that a race that rivals the big European tours like Giro/Tour or classics like Paris-Roubaix and Liege-Bastogne-Liege could develop outside of Europe? or are all big races going to be always in Europe? I would like to hear your thoughts!

STAGE 5 Critérium du Dauphiné: Live updates, blog

OK live coverage is coming up. Any votes on Eurosport who is the best. I like Matty Keenan. On SBS I like Dave Mackenzie’s comments. Anyone else have an opinion?

STAGE 5 Critérium du Dauphiné: Live updates, blog

16 riders away with only 30 seconds between the 10 in front and 6 chasing. Gosh I would love to see this climb but alas its probably going to be all over by the time coverage starts 😀

STAGE 5 Critérium du Dauphiné: Live updates, blog

I made mention in my interview with Simon Clarke http://www.theroar.com.au/2012/06/08/simon-clarke-opens-greenedge/ about his electronic shifter issues in the Haut Var http://www.steephill.tv/players/youtube3/?title=Final+Kms+of+Haut+Var+Stage+2&dashboard=2012/uci-world-calendar&id=yAYVnlM-Z7U&yr=2012 goto 6 minutes and see how hard he works and the cadence! he busts his way all the way to the end respect!

Dimitri Fofonov (AST), Alberto Losada (KAT), Kevin Reza (EUC), José Sarmiento (LIQ), Rémi Di Gregorio (COF), Egoi Martinez (EUS), Arthur Vichot (FDJ), Daniel Navarro (SAX) Maxime Médérel and Fabrice Jeandesbosz (SAU) have an advantage of six minutes. They have just started the climb. Daniel Navarro is a faithful lieutenant of Contador and an excellent climber, Egoi Martínez is an excellent climber wow they have 6 minutes!

Amaury Sport Organisation orgnaises the Dauphiné, Tour De France and the Paris-Roubaix etc its show casing of the French countryside must be phenomenal to tourism…cycling is great..cycling is a worthwhile business! Get on-board!

STAGE 5 Critérium du Dauphiné: Live updates, blog

Contador signs a 3 year deal with Saxo http://www.feltet.dk/nyheder/alberto_contador_vender_tilbage_til_riis/ use google translator. For cycling info Google Translator is fantastic! My view on contador/clenbuterol is on my blogspot… if you can’t find it your not looking hard enough 😀 Gap is out to 5 mins!

Fofonov, Losada, Reza, Sarmiento, DiGregorio, Martinez, Vichot, Navarro, Jeandesboz, Mederel lead by 3:25 at 75 km’s. I’m leading 3 glasses to 2 against my wife!

Frst KOM has come through on the cote de Corlier – 1 Kadri, 2 Edet, 3 Moncoutie, 4 Pauriol 5 Feillu, 6 Moinard that puts David Moncoutie is 2nd place equal with Nicolas Edet. So certainly Cofidis are out to try to take the Mountains Jersey after today.
Total KOM standings after first climb Kadri 36, Edet 37 and Moncoutié 37. Can the two Cofidies riders work together to spoil Kadri’s party

On another note Orica-GreenEDGE will be starting the Tour de Suisse on Saturday with Allan Davis, Baden Cooke, Cameron Meyer, Jens Keukeleire, Michael Albasini, Mitchell Docker, Sebastian Langeveld and Stuart O’Grady. They raced last night with the GP Canton d’Argovie. Defending Champ Swiss rider Michael Albasini came 4th

Wow fast first hour at 48.3 km/h. 6 man break has only 6 seconds..doomed and Sky is controlling the peloton. Its hard for non-cycling people to understand how important it is to defend the leaders jersey. Teams will generally do their chances a disservice in order to honour the jersey. This is very important in races like Grand Tours. Tommie Vockler’s defence of the Jersey at last year’s TdF made him a national hero in France. Its often not about winning either, teams will honour the jersey by fighting for it even though their chances are slim. Cycling rocks! If I was in the trenches I would want a cyclist with me.

STAGE 5 Critérium du Dauphiné: Live updates, blog

just to make a fool of me a 4-man breakaway has been formed at the 16 km mark, Manuel Quinziato (BMC), Jurgen van de Walle (LTB), Edouard Vorganov (KAT) and David Tanner (SAX). David Tanner is an Aussie rider with Saxobank started out professionally as a stagiaire with barlowworld before slipping into Pro-con with red Rock and fly V before Bjarne Riis took him up. Riis seems to have a healthy respect for Aussie riders.

STAGE 5 Critérium du Dauphiné: Live updates, blog

over 10 K’s done and no one is interested in a breakaway…its raining! How many going to drop their bike on way day the climbs of the day.

STAGE 5 Critérium du Dauphiné: Live updates, blog

A few more additions to non-starters , Simon Geschke (Argos-Shimano), Seb Rosseler (Garmin) and Seb Vanmarcke (Garmin)..2 talented Garmin riders out…saving themselves for Ryder Hesjedal to do the Giro/TdF double….can anyone do that?
