Where? Not saying you’re wrong but after a quick look I can’t see any comments from him that reflect what you’re saying. Also, regardless of what he said that was the situation that Australian rugby was in at the time and is relevant to what was happening with re-signings in 2020.

'Eye-opening': How discarded Tah could come back to haunt old side after stint with new England coach

I think this is reinventing history slightly. He signed to play for the Highlanders in 2020 when the contracting situation for Australian rugby was very unclear, everyone was on a paycut and no one knew how much money for salaries would be available. He signed before that was sorted, I’m not sure that means that no one wanted him. I think criticising this as an oversight on Australian rugby for letting him go is a bit much and doesn’t really reflect the context in which he left.

Fines-Leleiwasa isn’t a developing player. Neither is Strachan (I know he’s finally starting this match). Would it hurt to start someone like Tapine, who’s been in a professional environment for like four years over someone who’s been playing average like Tiatia?

Complete Super Rugby teams: Tahs welcome back Wallabies enforcer for Force clash, Reds lose key men

Oh ok, so because the Force have only been back 3 years and Cron is in his first season, that means nothing about the team can be questioned and debated in a reasonable manner?

But they are losing pretty close to every weekend, so it’s not like stacking the starting team with foreign players is proving hugely successful.

The original list under discussion was clearly about the 2017 team though, when he was brought over from the Tahs.

Your comment here rehashing the grievances of 2017 is standard on this site whenever anyone questions anything about the Force, but really isn’t relevant to the discussion at all. It’s possible to criticise the current approach of the coach without it being part of a broader attack on the existence of the Force.

I get why they have more imports. I’m questioning why those imports seem to get brought in and favoured to the detriment of Australian qualified players despite indifferent form, better Australian options or being very short term options. My questions were also in response to your claim that my criticism is not fair – I think it’s perfectly reasonable to ask questions here because there are clearly other options Cron could be taking.

What’s the point of playing Gareth Simpson so much and making him captain when he’s ineligble and is leaving at the end of the season? Wouldn’t it be better to invest more in Fines-Leleiwasa? Why has Jake Strachan been so neglected until the last two games? He was one of the Force’s best last year but has been largely overlooked. And Tiatia and Mataele have been pretty underwhelming. Also where are all of Grason Makara, Daniel Ala and Reece Tapine? All have been basically/completely absent. Surely they haven’t all been injured the entire season so far? I get they’re also bringing through Australian players, but I don’t think it’s unreasonable to question Cron’s approach at all.

I am awake. Calm down. I’m not trying to suggest the Force should have been cut or that they didn’t also bring back good Australian players (though Peni was a liability tbh). But it was strange of the poster above to respond to criticism that the Force have too many foreigners who aren’t eligible by citing a list of past players which included five who also weren’t eligible for Australia. I have no issue with Australian teams using foreign players to plug gaps, but tbh it seems a bit like Cron is doing it out of desperation now, hoping for a short term hit, but at the expense of developing his squad longer term.

And Brache, Grant, Louwrens, Masirewa and Ruru were not Aus eligible..

That’s the gate to the Ballymore carpark, right?

Moment of truth: Thorn's job firmly on the line against Moana as Reds plot plan for ex-Wallabies boss

That should read “it’s the fault of rugby itself, right”?

Rugby news: Blyth ban confirmed for Toole hit, first AB commits to next RWC cycle, why Nigel Owens rejected Rassie

There’s no anger mate. Just bemusement at how sad your life is.

'Messy and unclear': Skipper launches staunch defence of Thorn as Quade, Horwill question Reds' game plan

Lol, I knew you’d need some piss weak excuses to deal with that Reds loss Jimbo. When the Reds get pasted it’s the fault right itself, right? Can you tell us again how the Reds have the best forwards program in the country mate? What’s the Reds record against NZ teams again? It’s really good, right? Have you looked up salty in a dictionary mate? You might find that one gives you something to reflect on..

Sure mate. I look forward to the next time you don’t respond when Dave Rennie or Brad thorn are mildly besmirched. It’ll never happen, but oh well..

'Messy and unclear': Skipper launches staunch defence of Thorn as Quade, Horwill question Reds' game plan

I didn’t lie about anything. Good to know you’re sad enough to once again bring up grievances from a previous thread onto a new one. You really are a sad kiwi aren’t you petal (here’s a hint, you still need to get a life if following me around is all you have to do)?

'Messy and unclear': Skipper launches staunch defence of Thorn as Quade, Horwill question Reds' game plan

You are perfectly capable of critiquing anyone. But you don’t, you just hammer in on anyone who criticises a New Zealander. You do have form here friend, deny it all you want, but it’s true.

'Messy and unclear': Skipper launches staunch defence of Thorn as Quade, Horwill question Reds' game plan

But I don’t relentlessly attack anyone Jacko, so that doesn’t work…

'Messy and unclear': Skipper launches staunch defence of Thorn as Quade, Horwill question Reds' game plan

True. For Jacko’s purposes he is though. I guess from a rugby union perspective he is too given he has no history of playing for Australian teams outside of League.

'Messy and unclear': Skipper launches staunch defence of Thorn as Quade, Horwill question Reds' game plan

Cooper may have won nothing as a coach, but he’s played in excess of 200 professional games as a flyhalf where one of his core roles is implementing a game plan. And his comment is solely about the Reds implementation of a game plan, so it’s clearly an area he’s experienced in. And given how badly the Reds are playing and how badly they were pasted that game it’s pretty fair comment delivered in a pretty reasonable fashion, so not sure his history with Thorn matters hugely here.

In the same way you’re making an accusation of bias here, anyone who’s read your comments over the years could also just make the point that you’re basically doing the same thing and expressing your own personal biases – relentlessly defending a New Zealander against any form of criticism as is your raison d’etre on this website.

'Messy and unclear': Skipper launches staunch defence of Thorn as Quade, Horwill question Reds' game plan

You are the only one who brought your personal grievances over to a new article though. Which is why I suggested you need to get a life, Sad Kiwi.

'Really stings': Walking wounded Rebels hammered by Barrett's Blues in statement second half shut out

It’s quite sad that you feel the need to come onto an article other than the match thread to have a go at another poster who hasn’t even commented here about comments they made elsewhere. And at nearly midnight too. And looking below, you’ve done it more than once too. I think you need more going on in your life wig the sad kiwi.

'Really stings': Walking wounded Rebels hammered by Barrett's Blues in statement second half shut out

You’re correct mate, but I guarantee you they’ll search the carpark at Ballymore for a coach rather than looking to Europe. Heenan is already anointed, basically.

'Gutted': Thorn's Reds fall at home again as brilliant Brumbies march on by ending Brisbane hoodoo

Where does it say he’s being paid $800,000? The only time that figure appears in the article is in relation to an offer to Tolu Koula. No $ amount is given for this kid.
