2014 NBA All Star three-point and slam dunk contest – live blog
I really don’t think Richmond have that difficult of a draw. They play St. Kilda, Brisbane and GWS twice. The only finalist from 2013 they play twice is Sydney. I can see Richmond pushing for somewhere between 4-6 on the ladder, a lot of that depends on whether Dustin Martin can take the next step and be a consistent threat though.
Season preview: Richmond
Maxwell loved to talk, but he was never a great footballer. I’d prefer a captain that leads by example.
In defence of the much-maligned Nick Maxwell
He’s in a moon boot at the moment so his health is a big question mark. But I do agree, if he can stay healthy he’s definitely a good chance. Also helps that the umpires love him.
Can Ablett make it back-to-back Brownlows in 2014?
“Rajon Rondo will be terrible when he returns” is a completely ridiculous statement. Even if he isn’t his old self straight away he will be far from terrible. Chris Smith is terrible, Rajon Rondo isn’t and won’t be.
Rondo makes his teams better and I’m betting he will relish being the leader of a team and prove you wrong.
Rajon Rondo: The comeback worth waiting for
Let’s not forget how badly Australia performed in England. Things can be turned around very quickly, but hopefully not in England’s case.
I can’t wait to see how the Aussie’s go in South Africa, that will be the real test.
Is Australian cricket really back on top?
I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised when does return. His shooting woes have been blown out of proportion for a while now. If you look at his shooting percentages they aren’t too bad at all.
Rajon Rondo: The comeback worth waiting for
Can’t wait to see how channel 10 goes, I just hope it is better than channel 7’s attempt.
Back to the future as V8s return to Ten
This was an absolute joy to watch! Made it very easy for Clarke to make the decision to declare.
Bailey slogs Anderson to equal most expensive Test over - ever
I could care less who Jake King hangs around with, as long as he is performing on the field.
Surely AFL clubs can’t control every facet of every players life!
King 'defies' Richmond on Mitchell links
Certainly one of the best ever in the sport. When he needs to turn it on he does. Whincup certainly deserves this Championship, what a fight it was in the end.
Whincup joins V8 greats with fifth title
They are certainly a powerhouse of the AFL. In 2009 (the year before Hardwick arrived) Richmond had under 37,000 members. In 2013, they had over 60,000 – the third most in the AFL.
Hardwick’s contract extension a no-brainer
I think it is smart by the club to get it out of the way early. Now Hardwick won’t be asked about it by the media during the season – no distractions.
I know that Hardwick hasn’t been the sole man responsible; Gale deserves a lot of credit. But the decisions Hardwick has made on-field, has made this club a into a powerhouse.
Hardwick’s contract extension a no-brainer
These crowd figures are very concerning! I really hope the NBL steps in before it is too late. No one wants to lose what could be multiple teams at the conclusion of this season.
Regional crowds easily forgotten by all sports, but NBL must be proactive
Can’t wait to have another Aussie in the NBA! Exum should go top five and then who knows what he could achieve in the league. I think the millions would woo anyone towards going straight into the NBA.
Bogut expects Exum to skip college for NBA
I really hope Tomic finally knuckles down and realises that he isn’t going to be the best without hard work. If he does do what Newcombe has said he could be as good as anyone out there when he’s on.
Newcombe wants Tomic to train harder
It was very clear they were out to avenge for their 2008 loss from the first minute of the match. They were a pleasure to watch, not just in the Final, but throughout the whole tournament.
Kangaroos now sit alongside Hollywood's greatest villains
Campbell Brown is meant to be a veteran and leader of this club. Surely it’s about time he pulls his head in and lets his game do the talking. Then again he is 30, and his game hasn’t been much since he left Hawthorn.
No Brown decision yet for Suns
Bias is a wonderful thing. I don’t think there is anything awesome about a 3-10 record though.
Knicks and the Nets: what's gone wrong for New York?
Warner will be Warner. I do agree that Australia will look like fools if they don’t continue to produce over the entire Ashes series. I think keep the smugness and confidence going on the field, but I don’t think it’s that necessary off the field.
It's far too early for Australian Ashes arrogance
It would be great to have another Aussie in the NBA. I really hope Motum makes it; he certainly wouldn’t be the worst in the league today.
Aussie Brock Motum eyes NBA dream
Tomic and Hewitt have completely different mindsets. If Tomic doesn’t change his mindset, he could become a ‘what if’ very quickly.
Hewitt challenges Tomic to step up
Keep it up, Pup! It’s great to see some fire back in the Aussies for the first time in a long time. They are playing as a team and hopefully another belting of the Poms is just around the corner.
Clarke fine won't stop Aussies sledging
The Shooting Stars contest is done and dusted. Team Durant and Team Bosh contested the Final, and it was Bosh who came up big in the clutch. He hit the half court shot to give Team Bosh the win, for the second consecutive year!
