Haven’t they only got 10 spots left to fill? With Folau off to AFL does anyone else know any big names on their radar?
Melbourne Rebels lack star quality, says Cannon
Based on his Super Rugby performances, look at how the players he picked last year have already improved, you can’t deny the player depth is vastly improved from last year.
Also look at how long it took Woodward to get the RWC, Robbie’s star is on the up and so are the Wallabies..
That’s the appetiser done, now for the main course
If anyone can get it right it’ll be Robbie…
That’s the appetiser done, now for the main course
The team is at least looking in better shape than last year, once all the injuries are behind us and the players return, will make for some good games!
Will see tomorrow who the first 15 are?
Wallabies backs on the up, says Giteau
Will kicks the ball as a last resort (rem Higgers try v the Bulls from Will’s kick) with the new law interpretations I don’t think it pays to continually kick the ball away.
Deans has the players, now for the team
Skip – Last I heard of Dunning was that he was enjoying Perth and wanted to stay but his wife and kids were still in Sydney and she was pushing for him to come back?
McKenzie adds three more to Reds list
Bear in mind this squad is only for the upcoming Tests against Fiji, England and Ireland. There will be a few changes for the Tri-Nations!
How much will the Wallabies improve?
Can’t wait for the first test – what will I do this weekend with no rugby?
How much will the Wallabies improve?
More rumours…Think I’ll wait until it’s announced. Wasn’t that long ago that the Chabal rumour was doing the rounds?
McKenzie adds three more to Reds list
Slightly off topic, but does anyone know if the Barbarians games over the next 2 weekends will be on Foxtel?
Sonny Bill could be rugby gold
Did enjoy watching him play for the Barbarians last year, I think it would be good for SH rugby if he did come back.
Also think, as mentioned in the article, Vito and Ranger should be given a crack they’ve played well.
Sonny Bill could be rugby gold
So much depth in the backs, but still think the forwards are of concern with all the injuries at the moment!
Still guess we’ll find out more on Thursday when the team is announced..
To Barnes or not to Barnes? That is the question
There’s just to many permutations in the backs – pity we don’t have the same problem up front!
Personally I don’t rate Turner, I’d rather see Digby or Hynsie on the other wing!
Deans cagey but confident about Wallabies potential
2 weeks – he has one week left and will be available for the final if they get that far.
Bakkies Botha banned for four weeks
Don’t know about that Kidney – reckon the Lions are deeply embedded in the wooden spoon spot have been for a while now so at the very least that will be one win for the rebels..
Rebels add trio to Super 15 squad
While I see the Stormers as having a better chance of winning their game, Lawrence will have all 50/50 calls disected post match.
All I’m saying is to eliminate all that post match banter/ref bashing, install a neutral ref.
If the Tahs do win there won’t be as much, but if the Stormers win, there will be plenty of “home town ref” calls.
And again, post game the focus should be on the players and the game NOT the ref!
Where the Super 14 Semis can be won and lost
Fair enough point there guys, but history dictates that the ref will get some of the attention post game in a “home town ref” scenario.
There are only 3 games left to play over 2 weekends, as opposed to seven games last weekend alone. How hard (and expensive) can it possibly be to get neutral refs for the games so that the focus is on the players, which is were it should always be anyway!
Where the Super 14 Semis can be won and lost
That squad is coming together nicely, with three teams in the top half of the comp this year the Rebels should be competitive from the go.
Rebels add trio to Super 15 squad
They are the only side in the Semi’s that do not have the momentum of winning their last game going into the semi’s, and are not playing at home.
To many times have the Crusaders been written off this year, but they’re still there. They’re not the Kings of Super rugby for naught! Crusaders in a tight one.
The Stormers have had one solid game (v Crusaders) since they thumped an ordinary Chiefs outfit. The Tahs have been on the up since they were owned by the Highlanders. So this game will be very close and could go either way.
Either way Brett I think the last sentence summed it all up perfectly:
“Whatever the outcome, it’s sure to be an outstanding finish to a Super season.”
Where the Super 14 Semis can be won and lost
How is this “well done for getting it right”? With an all SA ref panel for the Stormers v Waratahs game history dictates that should the ref have an average or below game all attention will be drawn away from the players and onto the ref ala Bulls v Crusaders with Jokers..
Bulls shouldn't have the right to throw a match
Peter K – no worries there, with regards to the animosity – have you ever been to Pretoria, JHB or Bloemfontein? Trust me if you had to live there you’d also be very angry all the time 😉
Bulls shouldn't have the right to throw a match
Wooded – The point being made isn’t if it’s ok to rest one or two players but that it’s the entire first squad – 14 players! Big difference there (13…)
I sincerley doubt there would have been so much attention on this game, with regards to throwing it, had the Bulls come out and only rested 3 – 4 or even 5 players!
Bulls shouldn't have the right to throw a match
Well said Brad, was wondering where Peter K got that from! Can Caapies even speak english?
Interesting piece by John Eales in the SMH this arvo with regards to all teams bar the Bulls having momentum going into the semi’s with their last round (convincing) wins…
Hope he’s right…
Bulls shouldn't have the right to throw a match
You’re right there with all those points but it’s still going to be interesting to see the how the players gel, and esp how QC goes getting ball from LB instead of King Will!!
