Have to agree mate. I think it’s where they need to play a lot of their rugby but Peyper is missing a lot of things here.

How he thought he’d get away with that is beyond me. Was very blatant in my opinion.

36′ – NO TRY! – George Pisi is penalised for pulling Greg Laidlaw from making a tackle as Peyper goes back for a penalty advantage for Samoa. Penalty right in front of goal for Pisi as he split the sticks to make it 26-23 to Samoa.

34 – TRY Lee Lo is running through the Scottish defence as he continues to make great middle and bounce of Scottish tackles. Samoa work the phases and go from side to side as Sakaria Taulafo secures the bonus point for Samoa. SCO 23-28 SAM

30′ -TRY! Scotland win a penalty after Filo Paulo is penalised for coming in at the side as Finn Russell pins the ball down into the corner. Scotland go straight into the maul and after Scotland commit most of their team into the wayward maul, John Hardie touches down to put Scotland back on level terms. Laidlaw converts as we’re all square once again. SCO 23-23 SAM.

28- Pisi knocks over another three points form the ensuing penalty but it’s not all good news for the Samoans as Kane Thompson is replaced by Faifili Levave. SCO 16-20 SAM

Just the one replacement with Reid replacing Dickinson.

27 – Pisi nearly connects with his inside centre Lee Lo after stabbing through a grubber. Nanani-Williams fields the Scottish clearance but it looks like Ryan Wilson’s day may come to an end for a stamp on Maurie Faasavalu. Wilson is given a yellow after a TMO review SCO 16-20 SAM.

24 – Laidlaw tags on another 3 points for Scotland as Samoa are penalised for not releasing. Frantic pace as we pass the halfway of the first-half as Ryan Wilson is taken out in the midair. Meanwhile Alaisdair Dickinson has been replaced by Gordon Reid. SCO 16-20 SAM

20 – Ray Lee-Lo touches down in the corner as this game has developed into a complete end-to-end affair. Samoa did well to go deep into Scotland’s half and are playing with a level of dynamism and execution that we have yet to see from them this tournament. Apologies for the delay in updates, dealing with my own connection issues here. SCO 13-SAM 20

15′ – Scotland win a number of penalties in a row as Laidlaw converts from close range to make it a 2 point game. SCO 13-15 SAM

11- TRY! not even 10 seconds after scoring and it looks like Scotland have come right back and scored. Tommy Seymour looks to have answered back for the Scots as for the second time in a space of a minute Peyper refers to the TMO. The TMO once again awards the try as Scotland come roaring right back. Laidlaw converts as we’re all tied up again. SCO 10-10 SAM

10 – TRY! Samoa go right down the other end as Tusi Pisi crashes over in the corner from a Census Johnston pass as Samoa take the lead. Maurie Faasavalu reclaimed the kick-off and set up a great platform for Samoa. Jaco Peyper refers to the TMO to check for the grounding but there’s no problems as Tusi Pisi converts his own try to make it 10-3. SCO 3-10 SAM

6′ – Samoa win a scrum after holding up Richie Gray at the breakdown. Samoa turn the ball over but referee Jaco Peyper signals for a Samoan scrum for the maul not progressing. Probably should be a Scottish scrum but the Scots win a penalty at scrum time after Census Johnston is penalised for going down.

4′ – Samoa get the first shot at points as they win a penalty about 40 metres from goal as outhalf Tusi Pisi knocks over Samoa’s first points of the game.

No problems riddler, should be a cracking game if Samoa can play like this for the whole game.

1 – Samoa start on fire as they are playing with the freedom and determination of a side with nothing to lose. Samoans offloading,, running great support lines and putting the pressure on the Scots early. Veteran flanker Maurie Faasavalu surges up the middle but is brought down about 30 metres out as Scotland win a penalty for obstruction.

Good Evening everyone,
Welcome to tonight’s coverage of Scotland v Samoa as Vern Cotters side loo to book a place in the quarter-finals with a win over Samoa here in Newcastle. Both sides have made seven changes as Samoa look to restore some national pride after consecutive losses to South Africa and Japan. Should be a tough physical game here at St. James Park as we get ready for the penultimate game of Pool B.

80′ – FULL TIME – Not the greatest Irish performance but four points nonetheless as Italy’s World Cup run comes to an end while Ireland secure themselves a place in the quarter-final. Ireland got embroiled into a dog fight as Italy were far superior in the scrum but severely lacking in the line out. Ireland showed poor discipline throughout the game and finished with 14 men after Peter O’Mahony’s needless yellow card ten minutes from time. The Irish back never really fired outside of Keith Earls try and relied far too much and winning up and unders as a source of penetration. Conor Murray was probably the best Irish back and was smart and calculated when Ireland started to lose their direction. Italy cost themselves with a lack of territory and some poor decision making towards the end. Ireland now shift their attention towards France where the winner will more than likely meet Argentina while the loser will have to contend with a quarter final showdown with the defending champion All Blacks. Not the most scintillating game of the tournament but we hope you enjoyed the coverage nonetheless and we thank you for tuning in! Cheers and Goodbye!

79′ – With all the pressure on Sexton shanks it wide left as Italy can still tie this up with a converted try. Nervous for Irish fans as it’s not the first time Sexton has shown a propensity to miss a kick when the pressure is on. IRE 16-9 ITA

77′ – Ireland seem content to work the phases and try and grind this one out but in a brain snap Leonardo Sarto impedes Tommy Bowe’s run as Ireland are awarded a penalty right on the sideline as Sexton can seal the win if he knocks this over. IRE 16-9 ITA

40′ – Samoa have one more chance of scoring as they tap it quickly from a full arm penalty but as Paulo tries to spread it to the wing with a pop pass it’s too much of stretch for Taulafo who knocks it on. Seymour picks up the loose ball and boots it to safety as Samoa heads into halftime with a three point lead.
