Looks like he’s going better than the test picks in the second dig too. Labuschane seems to have bowled OK with 2-27. Might be worth educating, but are the coaches adequate to this task?
Patterson ton versus Sri Lanka upstages Test rivals
Enough was known you say. Enough to make me wonder at the selections.
Patterson ton versus Sri Lanka upstages Test rivals
The present test batting coach didn’t either. Back of a length, off or just outside no runs.

Not to good for the future then. All failures except Patterson who isn’t in the squad. Probably says a fair bit about the quality of wickets and bowling in the shield. Both too easy. Very disappointing. But everyone seems to think Pucovski is the right one and Burns and Labuschane as well, so come on coaching staff. No other recent coach has improved the quality of the new players, rather the opposite.
Australia's batting future on show in Hobart today
Still Siddle??? Stanlake could be very expensive. Let us hope not.
Cricket Australia unveils ODI XI for series decider
Maxwell should have come in sooner. But bugger me, with all the hard work done, Marsh and Maxwell get out together! There is a directional issue at the coaching level here it seems to me. Also to a point with the variation in bowling Siddle? Just shoot me.
India square the ledger but Aussies go down fighting in ODI thriller
I agree. Agar is useful at T20 and he seems to be a thinker about how he bats as well. Looks at the game. Uses brains when many do not seem to have them.
Ranking Australia's ODI quicks
Yes they are very rare indeed. You could argue Faulkner was or Stoinis in 50 over. But in this position I have perhaps seen one in 40 years from Australia, 2 from Pakistan maybe and of course Kallis.

Except that he has no business being in the team at present.
Ranking Australia's ODI quicks
There is no point in Maxwell at all if he is 7. He must be allowed to build an innings so that he can get into it later which he can surely do. He is an enigma no doubt, but worth perseverance. Siddle????
Jhye Richardson and Jason Behrendorff paper over the Australian selection and tactical cracks
I think you better reread Don. That was sarcasm methinks.
Jhye Richardson and Jason Behrendorff paper over the Australian selection and tactical cracks
Indeed. I am inclined to think CA require defenestration from the top floor of their ivory tower. Mind you based on the tests they may not have a long term product. I am bitter about the ruination of my favourite sport.
Jhye Richardson and Jason Behrendorff paper over the Australian selection and tactical cracks
This is due to the stupidity of CA in halting the shield for a third of the season. It has the added impact that batters can make a lot of runs without ever being really tested. Maxwell has a great ability, but can implode alas. I would welcome a slightly more stable version.
In the face of public anger, Australia's selectors finally back down
He came to the season with one shield game. He then bowled on heartbreak pitches. HE might well be fatigued, but there is another story here. None of the top three swung the ball. Why? They all could previously. Coaching?
Chris Tremain and Jhye Richardson must play Sri Lanka Tests
Always struggling and rarely looks like he is into the groove in my view. I had hopes, but no longer
Chris Tremain and Jhye Richardson must play Sri Lanka Tests
I am reminded of one or two players who score just before they would be axed and then do nothing for three tests and we persist with them for another series in which they underachieve.
