We don’t know how to bowl Yorkers, that’s why

Australia vs Pakistan: T20 Tri-series cricket live scores, blog

Hi Nemesis, I suppose you have zero regard fo football fans in australia like yourself. It wasn’t all that long ago that the NSL was being played in locked stadiums due to racially aligned clubs and ethnic violence.
Or, more recently, we talking about our very own Black’n’Red bloc who relish confrontation with authority and putting their fellow spectators at risk?
I know a lot of Australians have zero regard for football given the historical drunken and racist nature of the fans who attend the game.

See what I did there?

Dear Neymar da Silva Santos Junior

I’m surprised he hasn’t been selected at second row for QLD. Kaufusi has been oh so very mediocre and cost us two tries in game one. Gavin Cooper was anonymous in both games.
People notice Kaufusi due to his fro, his involvements aren’t great but when the hair flies back when he hits contact; you notice. He had 7 missed tackles in one game – do we really think Oates doesn’t offer morethan either of them?

Corey Oates may leave Brisbane for back-row spot

Is it raining in this hypothetical game?

If it is; I think WR stand a chance purely because Sexton will be the one kicking corners & GaryOwens to Folau.

You can’t deny that the All Blacks kicking game is a shade of grey below. That pack would feast on wet weather rugby.

But on a dry track; WR’s backline is simply too weak defensively. Not even Brad Thorne would field that at super level.

All Blacks vs the Rest: Could a ‘World’ team actually win?

He should be batting at 6 in tests. We’ve left runs off the board too many times because he’s run out of partners.

Tim Paine must be axed from ODIs

It was a pretty big oversight by Paine to pass over 5 overs of frontline spin, especially after Root managed 44 from his 10.
Our biggest issue is; if we don’t train against any decent wrist spinners, how do we expect to play against them?

Australia should play two spinners in ODIs

He hasn’t been dropped. He’s been out for the last few weeks due to a concussion sustained against the Sunwolves

What will Ireland bring to Australia in June?

“Rona can hit a hole, for sure, but he also knows how to draw a defender and put his outside men in space.”

Pretty much sums up the state and standard of rugby here at the moment. We should be saying this about every 10, 12, 13 & 15 in contention for a Wallaby jersey.

I’d be surprised to see Kuridrani dropped, he’s been on the receiving end of a feeble and clueless Brumbies attack. As you mentioned, Cheika knows he lifts in the Wallaby jersey with better players around him. He did it last year in the Spring tour, and he did it the year before too when his form was waning.

I think the Wallabies should shelve the idea of Beale at 12 and just play him at fullback. If we want him as our 2nd ball player we should look at how the Chief’s introduced Damien McKenzie – playing him at 15, often slotting into first receiver and setting up his 12 & 13. Give Folau roving commission on the blind wing and let him play fullback in attack.

The Wallabies bolters: Have they done enough?

the same accountability that saw Australian tax payer $$$ for a WC bid be wasted on bribes?

How much more will our Congress impasse cost football?

Fionn, he’s actually got a point.

Against Australian teams +chiefs; the Reds have lost 4/5 with a combined deficit of 83 points.

Their only win’s have been over a lacklustre brumbies outfit, 2 south african teams on tour and a Jaguares outfit that has been infamously hot & cold.

Whenever they come up against a coherent attack they get spanked.

When will Michael Cheika start to see Red?

Jameswm, he won a world cup and never played in the NRL. He did win the Super league & World Cup though, so he’s made your benchmark; although I don’t quite understand your objections

Reds tame the mighty Lions, thousands left disappointed

Is it better for the players? I’d probably say yes. Each team still plays at least 5 games a year at test venues.

Considering our general ineptitude in any conditions that doesn’t resemble a bouncy road; I’d say the more cricket we move away from the Gabba the better.

Sheffield Shield final: Queensland vs Tasmania preview and prediction

I’d prefer to watch a Sheild game at AB Field sitting on a grassy knoll than at the Gabba where you’re restricted to one section in the baking sun.

Although I am biased: you’ll see me on the hill all weekend as it’s a five minute walk from home

Shane Warne is a completely different beast when he’s away from the Channel 9 boys club; it is known.

Cummins tears apart South Africa

Sorry, but Mitch Marsh’s bowling in T20’s is actually VERY bad. RR of 8.4, which is the highest of all of Australia’s pace options bar Stoinis(8.5).

He hasn’t got the variation required to succeed in the shortest format. Fingers crossed he can develop it; but as of yet he’s 12th man behind Stoinis who has shown true grit in the short formats; averaging 65 with the bat.

A spinner is putting Steve Smith's spot in the T20 side in jeopardy

It also guarantees that the players are getting paid from a revenue source that isn’t dependent on good club management, it’s dependent on the broadcast revenue from the 16 teams.

Clubs can go bankrupt but the players are still going to get paid.

It is time to kill the salary cap and let the market decide for itself

Tim, it’s a pretty sweet deal that Joe’s highlighted, especially if you think of it from a club development perspective. If a youngster comes through your ranks and debuts at 20, by the time he’s in his prime at 26/27 he’s going to have a %50 discount to the cap. That’s a pretty sweet deal for Clubs who invest heavily in youth development and can’t retain players due to cap restraints.

By the end of a 300 game players career, he’d be on a 75% cap discount, which could really help for future planning and player retention.

Cameron Smith wouldn’t count towards the Storms cap this year because he’s played 16 years.

It is time to kill the salary cap and let the market decide for itself

Philander bowls 5 outswingers hitting the 3rd off stump and the 6th is an off cutter that crashes into the batsmen’s front pad.

Philander runs straight to his teammates, why bother turning around to ask the umpire, he knows it’s out.

Jhye Richardson is a rare talent

I think the MCG test could be used as a pretty firm argument for Sayers over Bird. Bird played poorly there. You can blame the pitch all you want but he bowled too short, too wide, too often and was punished accordingly. Only Cummins was worse RPO wise and he bagged 4 wickets. Bird had a hundred* as bowling figures.

Sayers is much more capable of extracting life out of a dead pitch due to his variation of cutters and his ability to get reverse swing.

Jhye Richardson is a rare talent

It’s pretty hard to be a poor captain when your four frontline bowlers take 20+ wickets each in a 5 test series.

Smith wants more from himself at SCG

Most worrying thing is the line “works with a World Cup winning Australian All Rounder”

UPDATE: James Sutherland, ICC react to third Ashes Test spot-fixing claims

hear hear Eeds.

Anyone calling QLD’s desal plant a “waste” is seriously thiccc.

Our combined water storage in dams was below 15%. We were in a decade long drought.

Had the drought continued another year, and there was no Desal plant…. I’m sure you’d be even more furious.

Doomed if you do, doomed if you don’t.

Nine things you can buy with $2 billion that aren't new sporting stadiums

The way he spells “Straya” , “Strayia”…

I’d guess he hasn’t spent 13 years here.

Have England psyched themselves out of the Ashes?

hear hear

Rejoice the Spring Tour bolters; lament the flyhalf and fullback headscratchers

Eales also thought it was a good idea to punt the force

Michael Cheika must relieve Michael Hooper of the Wallabies captaincy
