Don’t patronise me about my knowledge of the game, I know whats been going on and my article is just questioning the system. I don’t agree with it and I am just using Liverpool as an example.

However, you can’t deny the influx of owners has changed the amount of time and the feelings managers are given. Newcastle and Tottenham while you point out rightly are English owned were for years riddiculed at for their trigger happy approach to managers. Now all big clubs are like that and it’s commonplace and nobody really questions it. That’s the crux of the article; culture has changed so that managers do not get time.

Also the best managers Wenger and Ferguson have been given time and deliver results.

Roy Hodgson's sacking a sign of the times

Art Sapphire
Look at Man U and Arsenal Wenger has gone 7 years without a trophy and Ferguson went 5 years before getting glory. Even at Everton, they are giving David Moyes time.

While you point to Real Madrid, that is a different culture. In England for so long Managers were given time because the owners were English and understood the need for time. That has changed and foreign owners don’t understand that

I’ve supported the game for a long time so I don’t need to do any research on it. Maybe you should do some research also

Roy Hodgson's sacking a sign of the times

Nope, just an article not gushing about the Premier League

The Championship is gripping football

As mentioned in the article Midfielder I feel its all to do with the divide in our sport and nothing to do with Lowy’s riches. Too many football fans wear European shirts, support Sydney Olympic and Adelaide City and don’t have an interest in the A-League (My Dad is one). Converting 20-30% of those to A-League would just make so much of a difference to the A-League crowds and TV Ratings.

A-League revival to be led by Frank Lowy

Checked the version i have on word Fussball it has been edited wrongly it should say

To put this into perspective that is just above the combined participation figures of the Aussie Rules and Rugby League and 100,000 more than the population of Qatar

Dont know went wrong

A-League revival to be led by Frank Lowy

I understand why the Oz Open is in Sydney (Govt provides the cash to keep it running), but I’d like to see the Oz Open travel around Australia. Australia has so many great golf courses (The Vines, Royal Adelaide, Royal Queensland etc.) that are devoid of tournament golf.

Australian golf needs Masters and the Open

Again this article is just IMO. I have watched Boca-River on SBS before and that can be nasty.

There are two other underated derbies that i really should mention
1. The Edinburgh Derby (Hibs vs. Hearts), so much is similar to the Old Firm
2. The Welsh Derby in England (Swansea vs. Cardiff City). There have been some cracking games of soccer

Old Firm rivalry simply cannot be beat

I’ll be honest, I havent seen Linton much. But that just adds to the intrigue of the carnival

Spring Carnival's Guineas Day has us raring for more

PeterW stay out of this, your first comment was just revolting.

Apaway is there was a comment of the year, you would win hands down. This is not a debate about the morals of girls who throw themselves at stars; thats another debate. This about the revolting comments made by Everitt.

Spider shows he is really a dinosaur

You have got it wrong, in the example Im not saying someone got raped. What I am saying is yes both I and spider know at 3am your not getting Milo but no matter who it is, they do not deserve to be sexually assualted.

I am not bowing to PC I am bowing to what is good taste and the spider comments along with your comments are sickening. If those girls are found to be making it up, they will be charged with “Wasting Police Time” so, there is no drivel from others its fact.

Agree also with Caranda though girls have to be careful but as redb said boys need to show restraint

Spider shows he is really a dinosaur

How can John O’Neill build up the sport to a comeptitive level between 1996-2003 and then Flowers comes in and within 3 years Rugby is a mess. I beleive the self servers helped but Flowers is CEO and gets the blame for me

Aussie rugby climbs out of mess Flowers made

I would like to say a couple of points
1. I DO NOT agree with Johns’ comments, I thought they were selfish rude and ignorant
2. Andrew Johns I know for a fact is not racist.
3. I feel that if there was a problem with the comments Tahu should have first spoke to Johns and cleared it up, Johns is shattered about what happened.

I also feel that to sack Johns from Media commintments would be unfair.

Who leaked Johns' comment to media?

Baz 35 “Opinions are like arseholes evereyones got one” we will have to agree to disagree. May i ask some questions to the roarists who are from NRL loving Sydney
1. Have you ever attened an AFL game? Why/Why Not
2. Will you attend an GWS AFL game when they join the AFL in 2012? Why/Why Not

Australia needs to widen its sporting pallet

To all my critics prove me wrong

Through your network of friends:
Get 40,000 people to the Swans each week. Have the Warathas and the NRL sides draw 30,000
Fill out AAMI Park for the Melbourne Storm matches and have the Brisbane Roar draw 20,000 each week.

None of this will happen because as long as the Media (Tele, Herald Sun), write paranoid articles people will limit their sporting pallets. Dont be critical just prove me wrong

Australia needs to widen its sporting pallet

I have to agree with fatboi on the free tennis courts. I know so many people who love tennis but dont play. It costs too much for kids to have a go and the courts are in bad states. Tennis is appratently Australia’s most popular sport based on TV Ratings and participation (Roy Morgan). But what ruins it is the outdated facilities. Lets get that in place beofre we worry about champions cause its going to take a while

Tennis Australia enter brave new world

If you read the article i said TV ratings were fantastic not the series. I didnt like the series but in India they did

Rescue ODIs by playing them in November

You dont have to agree but thee are better things in life to do than bag people on TV on the internet. Do something else with you life

Australian fans can be bad sports toward the media

I feel sorry for Seven. If they had stayed with the tennis, there would have been compliants from Today Tonight and Home and Away viewers. Tennis fans must remember there are people out there who dislike tennis and like Home and Away. They are in an impossible position as it could not be shown on Seven TWO due to legislation (So stupid people, stop ranting about Seven TWO as it was impossible) . Also becuause of the Davedenko match going so long, the schedule went out of sync. Sports fans are so selfish and forget a network needs to keep all viewers happy. However, for a major tournament like this, Seven should have had backup plans.

Fans give Seven a serve over Stosur no show

1. I am sorry to anyone who thinks this is AFL biased. I have just gone on my opinion. While I live in SA, I have tried hard to award those who deserve it from all codes (And yes Billy Slater should be in there somewhere you are all right)
2. Yes the Aussie cricket team lost 3 series but remember they won in South Africa when they were not expected to.
3. The only reason the Enlgish don’t win an award is because there English (Just kidding, just wait and watch them fall again)
4. Garry Ablett may not be known Nationwide but neither’s Billy Slater

Anymore comments from now can you suggest people who deserve an award who i didnt mention (You can creatre a new award) I would love to hear them.

Thank you to Pippinu for you Roarer of the Year Award

Benaud's the best commentator, daylight second

I did forget Jim Maxwell. He is quality and looking back he could have taken some other person. I am too young to talk about Bill Collins but on Youtube his call of Bonecrusher’s 1986 Cox Plate win was brilliant. I like how you keep comming up with your lists it makes for intesting debate.

Brian Martin Tyler if I was doing a global best Martin Tyler would be top 3 at least.
