The difference between what is possible and impossible, is merely the determination of a man’s mind.

Great to see you back Geoff, and a much needed truth about the ins and outs of the problems facing the Rebels and RA.
For me the Rebels have started to put in place much needed reforms that showed success both on and off the field last season, my concern with some journalists and media outlets in general is them re affecting players minds after last season.
Unity and integrity is needed more now than ever but RA are still not showing this particularly towards the players, if players leave it costs the franchise a large amount first by having signed them through to providing their training plus other factors cost more than many realise.
The Rebels have invested and developed players for the long term which RA should take onboard, players are now coming through there into the Wallabies setup.
I do not believe in dropping a team but it is more about Waugh and co investing properly in young talent both in players and coaching, a holistic approach is needed in Australia for the game to reach its full potential.
Rather than talking to the franchises individually RA should sit down and talk to them together so everyone understands and can contribute more effectively, like with any relationship you need proper communication without it being leaked to a third party.

The Wrap: Unity, integrity and the other casualties of shameful leaks aimed at the Rebels

Thank you WL, I hope that this year is a great one for you and your family… 👍

COMMENT: In trading Greatest Showman for 'boring' and 'pragmatic' Sleepy Joe, RA gambling with game's future

Scott Barrett is a lock in so Shields will need more than one great season.
It is great to see the positive reaction from the Wallabies players with the new coach in, a breath of fresh air for them moving on from Jones and his it’s all about me attitude.

Rugby News: 'Good to have someone with that success' - Wallabies welcome Schmidt, SA referee calls time

Personally I think that it is a positive that Aussie now has a coach that is not about feeding arrogance, he will provide a point of difference with the media compared with the likes of Cheika and Jones.
A certain personality does not mean success and Schmidt has proven this with his success in the past with Ireland, personality and the right attitude is saved for development of the team and individual players.
After Jones I am sure that Wallaby supporters will appreciate a coach that is not media driven but focused on the team and driving for success.

'We'll sack him and be in the same position': Ex-Wallaby condemns Larkham snub as Schmidt deal CONFIRMED

He has had a proven track record with Ireland leading them to number one and winning the grand slam also.
A few mentioned about Razor not having International experience so I wonder how many of them supported the move for Larkham? At a time when the Wallabies need stability then Schmidt is a great choice and having a two year contract provides less time for the knives to come out, it also provides more time for RA to keep looking at other coaches also if this appointment does not work out.

'We'll sack him and be in the same position': Ex-Wallaby condemns Larkham snub as Schmidt deal CONFIRMED

It would have been tough for him to come out in public and being so open about his mental health issues etc.
Full respect to him and his family and I hope that he finds his peace and returns to form, more importantly I just wish him well.

G’day JN, I agree.
Look forward to catching up soon… 👍

Broken promises, sacrificial lambs and a monumental low blow - goodbye, good riddance to 2023 for Wallabies fans

G’day Harry, thank you for that.
Everything is fine here cheers, I cannot believe how quick 2023 has flown by! It was a year with so much Rugby news both good and bad, 2024 should be a more settled year on the news front but hopefully Rassie does not let it be too settled… 😛

Broken promises, sacrificial lambs and a monumental low blow - goodbye, good riddance to 2023 for Wallabies fans

A great read Harry, thank you as it got me thinking.
For Aussie they need a strong leadership group in regards to coaching, everyone needs to be onboard with the same approach and goals. Also a proper leadership group has been missing for too long on the field, this has also been the case for NZ since 2015.
NZ and SA are in a good position for development and will rebuild the talent that is lost post RWC, as they always have players that are ready for the next level.
I worry that France could go backwards as they did in 2011 after making the final, Wales have me doubting their plans moving forward which would effect their on field performance.
Scotland are building and could progress similarly to Ireland with more time, Fiji IMO are the most improved team with previous weaknesses now being their strengths.
It will be an interesting and exciting time for us Kiwis with Razor taking over, I expect that it will not take long for the players to adapt to his style and path moving forward.
Have a great New Year my friend… 👍

G’day Ben.
Hamish has just announced his intention for running low performance, he stated that he is confident of making it even lower but just needs more time.
He is the leading candidate only because Jones has taken up his role as head coach in Japan.

CONFIRMED: 'I doubt it' - Nucifora returns to the fold after backflip, as new head of HP locked in

Great news with the appointment of DN for Australian Rugby, he played a pivotal role for Ireland and will bring that experience to Australia.
With a change at the helm of Australian Rugby he will have more freedom to help to impose positive changes, DN would not work under Hamish but shows that he has the desire to work under a positive hierarchy who have the good of the game at the forefront of their thinking.

RA to begin hunt for Wallabies coach imminently after securing key man, Schmidt keen as Nucifora talks continue

A very good list.
I would put Jackass Jones as number one though, why? Because it is Eddie Jones and his betrayal for Aussie Rugby supporters is unbelievable, well not quite unbelievable as this is Jackass Jones after all… 😱

I agree JN, what happened to Barnes was a disgrace.

Culture, style, identity.
Crap! I forgot that Hamish and Eddie destroyed these, but I still have belief that these will be back with the right person in.
