Dude, Id be having a good look at Peter Sumich if I was a Melbourne club. He has the pedigree as a player and coach of winning premierships and he coaches a youth side over in WA now and they all say good things about him. Carlton especially could use a guy like him now.

He’s played under some of the best coaches in the business and when you hear him speak, he knows his stuff.

Five talking points from AFL Round 10

Mate, Eddie Betts and Taylor Walker both pushed guys in the back in the first half in the lead up to Crows goals… they weren’t called . I think you guys had 15 scoring shots in the second quarter or something crazy to the Eagles 1… you could have iced the game then and there.

Five talking points from AFL Round 10

”Pretty solid comeback win on the road.”

ANY win on the road is a good win. As Simmo said, their worst is pretty abysmal… but their best is simply sublime. Hopefully they wont lose any more games before the break and if that happens they are right back in contention.

Well I think theres more to it than meets the eye, wouldnt suprise me if Scott was given the job at Carlton by the mid season break.

Brad Scott bows out: Roos coach to forego final year of contract

Rebuilds are code for we have no idea what we are doing but will cross our fingers and hope all the other sides are as equally as clueless as us.

Are Carlton's young players actually improving?

Who told you that?? If you are wrong will you make a pronouncement?

Five talking points from AFL Round 9

Whatever Alan Jones preferences, he is a supporter of free speech.

I guess you have never heard the Voltaire axion??

Folau's contract officially torn up by RA, but court challenge looms likely

looms likely?? surely you jest?? Every lawyer from Moomba to Mukinbidin is queuing up for this.. Folau will win, get awarded damages and whoever represents him will do quite nicely.

When all is done and dusted the person looking for a new job will be Raelene Castle.

Folau's contract officially torn up by RA, but court challenge looms likely

Michael Voss still wants to coach according to his latest interview. Could do worse than give him a call. He was very unlucky in the first place…the mature recruits he brought in all got injured or did something stupid of the field and they all barely played a game. If they all had of stayed on the park his would have been a different story.

Five talking points from AFL Round 9

Wether anyone has a gay son at all is irrelevant.

Freedom of speech exists, even for Christians, wether you or the ARU like it or not.

Folua will sue, he will win and I wish him well playing club rugby in Japan.

The big question now is where will the ARU find the money to both pay for an expensive legal defence and a large payout, they might have to pay costs as well.

Rugby Australia should have remained neutral on the Folau saga

Like all the others on the bandwagon to condemn Folau you seem to not understand the most basic point… It is NOT Israel Foluas decision that homosexuals well not be allowed into the Kingdom of Heaven… that has been OFFICIAL CHURCH POLICY for the last TWO THOUSAND YEARS. He is simply stating what the scriptures say. So for the ARU to sack him it is saying HE CANNOT QUOTE SCRIPTURE. This is a CLEAR violation of freedom of speech.

Wether or not you agree with the Churchs position it is IRRELEVANT.

Folau will sue the ARU and he will win.

Castle admits Folau saga could have been handled better

Eagles still not getting any love. They were down a rotation after Venables got knocked out…if any other club wins in those circumstances everyone says what a gritty win it was.

I think its time to throw the Guv up forward…Let him play CHF and do the ruckwork in the forward line…..give Oscar Allen a key defensive position along with Will Schofield ..unless Baras is fit then put Will on a flank..hes too good to be playing WAFL… and shift Jack to the flank to play the third tall role Waterman played early last year.

Re the ruck, McCinnes has been serviceable every time he has played, so no harm giving him another run either. I think its just their balance is not quite thereATM… Josh Smith or another midfielder sould come in to give some extra run in the midfield.

Sides are running hard and playing on at all costs…and lowering the eyes to prevent intercepts which is a clever thing to do…. but..and its a big but… there is a fatigue penalty associated with that game style… mistakes creep in , players begin to miss targets by hand and foot..tall guys dont get any shorter when the legs get tired.

Next weeks game is the season defining one for my mind… Crows and Eagles are both going to be fighting for that 4th spot by round 24… I think you can start to pencil in who ever gets the points next week for that spot.

"We're not helping ourselves": Simpson concedes Eagles still off the pace

Brayden Maynard got out-bodied by the smallest guy on the field who barely had 10 AFL games on his career…. I guess blaming the umpire saves you from having to really analyzing how piss weak he really was in that contest.

First, he misreads the flight of the ball and defends the wrong forward, as its clear the ball is going to drop short and be marked by Sheed……. second he doesnt have the strength to move the youngest, smallest and least experienced guy of his position for a GAME WINNING spoil!! Jesus man, if you cant make that play you shouldnt be in the AFL..sorry someone has to say it.

Like the song says ”let it go, let it go the Eagles are Prem-iers,
let it go let it go, we jumped and touched the sky……..
Here I stand, cup in handdddddddddddddddddddd
Let the cont-ro-versy die…
” nobody cares that you cry..”

Musical interlude, fade out 😉

LISTEN: If you're not in the top eight after Round 11, is there any hope of a flag?

Dude I dont know how you came up with that name, but let me say, ”well done” 😉

West Coast vs Melbourne: Friday night forecast

Thats true, and normally I would have run a line through them myself after that. But the Tigers got belted by the Crows in early 2017 and turned the tables in the decider. So they have set a precedent Im happy to see repeated 😉

West Coast vs Melbourne: Friday night forecast

He was the first guy I ever voted for… and the day they knifed him was the last day I ever voted for the ALP 😉

Vote 1: Women's sport

I dont know why they thought unloading Jesse Hogan wouldnt impact their ability to score goals. I know he had a crook foot, but gun key forwards like him dont just drop out of the sky. Freo did great to pick him up.

West Coast vs Melbourne: Friday night forecast

Their balance isnt quite right… Waterman was a great third forward option early last year… ditto the Shuey clone Venables… the latter has been quieter than he was… the former has been killing it in WAFL but cant quite nail it back at AFL level. Barras an All Australian standard defender is injured and Redden also has been out..he gives them a lot of drive in the congestion, …. and little Willie Rioli added a bit of spice to the mix, hes been out all season to date as well.

A couple of others Cripps and Kennedy missed the pre seasons so are still finding theyre feet..But the big one is this time last year they had two All Australian ruckmen..this year they dont have either… Vards was always a solid number two, Hickey was just finding his feet when he got injured as well.

Having said that, if they win their next 4 games… they are a big chance to finish top 4 by seasons end.. and then its a coin flip for all concerned.

So 4-3 with four winnable games to come… its not all doom and gloom.

West Coast vs Melbourne: Friday night forecast

Dude, if they get that free, they win that game… that loss will be the difference between making the 8 and not making it… I think the Bombers are on the wrong side of the ledger now, so , I think that’s how it will play out.

Nine talking points from AFL Round 8

Hardly rocket science, go back to the rules the AFL had before they began changing them. Ditto the length of the quarters…return to only two interchange and you can bring on one emergency if a guy is genuinely injured… in that case he cannot play the following week.

The easy fix to the AFL's scoring woes

If the AFL do pull something like that they will get sued no question.. surely its one rule for all … I cant believe this is even being contemplated.

Tom Boyd announces immediate retirement from AFL at 23

I think both the Suns and the Saints have been good. last time the Eagles played the Saints in Melbourne they lost by 8 points in 2017, so I for one think the weekends result was fantastic for the reigning premiers. Ditto their gritty win over the Suns the previous week… both those clubs I think will win close to 8-10 games, they are no walk in the park.. they are going to claim a big scalp before the year is out.

The Suns aren't the best, but great signs are finally showing

Ive always been an Aussie Rules man but I learned to appreciate the two rugby codes when I moved to Brisbane, in particular, I was very intrigued by rugby union… fast forward nearly 20 years and Ive given up watching due to the constant rule changes, on any given day you dont know how the referee is going to interpret things…. its destroyed the game in Oz, participation rates are half what they were in 2003.

If the AFL dont pull their heads out of their anus’s they will do the same thing to our great game of Australian Rules.

Every time they changed the rules to increase scoring it has had the opposite effect… yet 20 years down the track, they continue to tamper with things.

The AFL’s administration has failed and it must be changed

Yes I think you have nailed with that post…well done 😉

The AFL’s administration has failed and it must be changed

Exactly, they could pay a lot of juniors and amateurs fees with that, provide jumpers, boots, whole bunch of things. Destroyed the Lions attendance figures and presumably it hasnt helped the Swans either.
