7′ YELLOW CARD for Clint Dempsey, for pulling back Raul Meireles as her surged down field.

5′ Torres is collected by a high boot from Danny Murphy on half way. No booking for Murphy though. From the freekick Sturrdge takes the ball down the right and spits in a cross towards Torres, but Senderos wins the struggle and its a goal kick.

3′ Chelsea have settled quickly and commenced bombarding the Fulham goal with fairly straight long balls.

1′ Fulham kick off and begin with the ball. They look sharp early on but their first attack ends with Cech huddled over the ball.

I failed to mention that Orlando Sa will lead the line for Fulham, starting for only the second time. He signed, ironically, from Porto under the management of Andre Vilas-Boas.

Well Chelsea have graced us with their presence and the teams are on the pitch and it’s just about time.

Fulham are in the tunnel and we’re just about to go. That is when we find the home side. There’s a bit of an anxious look on the faces of these Chelsea fans, they know failure to win would be a catastrophe.

Well well. Fernando Torres starts.for Chelsea. So does Frank Lampard. Fulham persist with that back four which their fans keep griping about, Hughes stays on the bench. Might be Torres’ last chance today, remember we’re getting awfully close to January. Incidentally that Classic Match was a belter! Spurs 6, Reading 4. Something like that would be alright tonight!

Fifteen minutes from kick-off and while I’m enjoying this Premier League Classic (Spurs v Reading 2007/8) on the telly I better go search for the team news…Perhaps we’ll get another Premier League Classic here today.

Yeah I just think that it is perfectionism gone mad. There has been no suggestion of match fixing by an international umpire for at least ten years, for one thing there is too much scrutiny on them to get away with it. In reality umpiring mistakes are not turning people off cricket. Look at today for example, where Hussey and possibly Cowan were given out mistakenly, and then Haddin was given not out when he was absolutely plumb LBW. These things have evened themselves out for 130 years of test cricket, and I think the natural order should be allowed to remain. Incidentally, I notice Channel 9 were unable to show a hawk-eye for that Haddin appeal because the ball passed from light to shade. One of the many reasons I am doubtful about reliance on hawk-eye.
No Decision Review System? Good riddance!
I totally agree with the atricle. You can’t cook up teams out of nothing and serve them up to people saying ‘there, eat that.’
Thank you for ignoring the Big Bash
A game full of class, drama and suspense ends with City back on top of the league. Arsenal just lacked the final ball, where by contrast City always looked likely to find a goal from somewhere. In the end City probably deserved it on balance, but Arsenal gave them a shake. Man of the Match for me would have to be Silva, who pulled the strings and was always a threat. Zabaleta and the two City centre halves were good also, as was Robin van Persie.
Right, that’s it for me, I’m off for some sleep. Would love to hear from you with your thoughts on the match though. This is a big result, and we’re getting to a pretty meaty part of the season. See you next time for another Premier League Match of the Week.

90+3′ Arsenal surging forward now in a final charge, Arteta pulling the strings. Now the ball falls again to Vermaelen, who hits a pile driver just wide from 25 yards. Plenty of hearts in mouths there! But that might be the last chance!

90+2′ Song commits a foul which gives City a freekick five yards from the byline. Aguero and Silva roll it between them wasting time, before Silva spots the run to the near post by Dzeko, who fires his shot into the side netting.

90′ Arteta plays a short, square pass to Vermaelen, who drives in a thunderous shot which is parried brilliantly by Hart! That was a big chance, good football all round.

90′ Foul by Richards on Chamakh. Freekick to Arsenal just to the left of the box, Arteta to take.

89′ Now Sczeszny comes up to take a free kick from halfway. He launches it forward, and again Koscielny crosses. It’s taken down on the left by Van Persie, but Arshavin’s shot is dragged wide. He’s been listless since coming on.

87′ And now the Arsenal push comes. Gervinho passes to Koscielny, but that’s a poor cross. Too high, too loopy. They’ll need better than that.

9′ After neat play between Ruiz and Dembele, Dempsey blasts a shot from 30 yards. It’s poorly hit but bounces awkwardly in front of Cech who has to tip it wide. Murphy’s corner is punched away by Cech. Bright start from Fulham though.
