Very true 🙂

Why defence is trending ahead of attack in modern rugby

A great article, but sad space for rugby. I prefer games when attack is on top, the professional era ABs way. But you’ve got to change, like the post 09 ABs. Until the rules/interpretations do, anyway!
I’ve mentioned it before, Argentina are the England of the South, without may!

Why defence is trending ahead of attack in modern rugby

I’ve heard the term turgid more often for this 8 Nations comp than I thought possible, yawn inducing stuff

England win with Farrell 'golden' penalty

The puma defence was pretty impressive, and speaks volumes about the team dynamic. Now they just need some one too coach some real attacking nous, because their attack was below par. But a great year for the puma, of SANZAAR Nations, the only ones to come out looking good

Los Pumas against all odds

Gotta feel sorry for the guy, three times he could have turned draws into wins. Ouch

HIGHLIGHTS: Rinse, wash repeat! Another Hodge miss sees Wallabies and Pumas tie again

Savea was our best AB last year, by miles, as witnessed by his player’s player award. But has not been the best this year, which is sad, but neither have most of the forward pack. He is so versitile and so explosive he seems destined for a bench role: Akira, Cane, + big bad 8 (Sotutu looks good, but we have not seen enough of him yet)

Observations from the All Blacks' last Test of 2020

BB was held back by one of the worst half back performances I have seen by the ABs, TJ was utter pants. So, along with the forwards being beaten up, it was very hard to judge BB at 10, Laumape at 12. The ball they got was awful.
Up until this year Goodhue played all his rugby at 13, ALB was both but often 12. I have no idea why Foster saw fit to swap them around. But our midfield is average, but maybe the best idea is to stick with what we have and give them time. I dunno, chopping and changing midfield is really bad for our team.

Observations from the All Blacks' last Test of 2020

Was 5 in a row under Hart in the late 90s, that was the last 3 in a row and went to 5! ABs aura was declared dead. Again.

All Blacks ready for Test of redemption

Very good point but Jerome certainly didn’t start smart. Those guys got there by using the physical stuff and being given time to build rugby smarts. I hope Akira could do that, but frizzell is more of an athlete. With defence so dominant in rugby ATM, the ABs need some beasts to bend the line/draw defences to enable our backs to shine. As much as I love Ardie, his skill set is more and more pointing too a bench role, too

6-6-6: Where is the big beast of the Wallaby back row?

You could replace wallabies with ABs. Not since Jerome has someone done the beast job for us. Squire almost, but injuries and mental health issues stymied that, Akira is probably the closest we have now, but ultra conservative foster sticks with average frizzell

6-6-6: Where is the big beast of the Wallaby back row?

The abs have been poor for periods often, pretty much every decade has had a season or period, that was rubbish. However the 2010s were an exception, and we’ve picked that up in 2020!
Yeah, we’ve got a rubbish coach trying the same stuff that just hasn’t been working since the lions, when a team stands up against the ABs. So he’ll either innovate next year, or get sacked/not get renewed. 2009 was our last awful session, we won the world cup after that. Then you can look at the Boks, too. It’ll be a nasty couple of years for us ABs supporters, I don’t think foster had anything to offer, but terminal decline? Nah.
Edit: I’d be happier if Razor was brought in now. He’s a fish with modern ideas, but still knows it all starts up front. A fair few people I’ve heard looking for the puma to win, cos that would be foster gone, but he’ll stay if he wins the last game

Are the All Blacks staring into the abyss?

Great news for Ozzie rugby!

I betcha we would if they were playing now!

His comments before the match showed someone going into the game with the wrong attitude, the yellow was inevitable

Groundhog day for the Wallabies: Four talking points from Bledisloe 3

Yeah wasn’t that long ago SA were bashed 50 whatever nil by ABs. However they now are RWC champs and world no 1

Groundhog day for the Wallabies: Four talking points from Bledisloe 3

Australia has 270k registered players (477k total players), NZ 155k as all are registered. It’s not numbers as much as what you do with the resources.

Groundhog day for the Wallabies: Four talking points from Bledisloe 3

I’m looking forward to when we have the ABs running a set up with players in their more correct positions later in the game. Aaron Smith – beaudy – Clarke – Laumape – ALB – Ioane – Jordie!

Ngani Laumape and Sam Whitelock return to All Blacks team for Bledisloe 3

With our recent win rate there, not a bad call!

The quick questions: Unlearn all your learned Bledisloe Cup learnings

Yeah Sunday arvo match, not ideal. I think it was 31k. I was joking, thus the 😛

All Blacks don’t cry. Wah wah late hits.

I guess I’m starting to feel like what wallabies supporters did under Cheka. Whining. Putting two 7s in the pack despite back row balance. Random selections regarding player positions. Sticking with the same game plan that’s not really been working for the last few years.

At that to NZR acting totally unprofessional, it’s really a Tasman swap!

NZ accuse Wallabies of dirty play in Bledisloe 1... while claiming 'All Blacks don't cry'

Well if Wellingtonians can’t be bothered to turn up, why should the ABs? Pretty poor effort on the crowds 😛

The quick questions: Unlearn all your learned Bledisloe Cup learnings

Yes sorry, poorly worded. Should be instead of back up ten. Like the ABs, there’s already two on the field, you don’t need another on the bench. I mainly said in that way because I couldn’t remember how to spell Lolesio!
Phone posting is rubbish

What changes should the All Blacks and Wallabies make for Bledisloe 2?

I can see minimal changes for the Wallabies, just the back up ten being Petaia if fit.

I also see minimal changes for the ABs, cos that is the way Hansen operates and (sadly) Foster is just a few extra years of that fading coaching force. Obviously BBBR comes in if fit, maybe Savea gets replaced by Sotutu with baby due soon. I would put Clarke in 11, Jordie 14, Beaudy 15, swap Savea and Sotutu (if Savea is not there then there are a fair few options to cover Akira, or Paps). Karl T does not need to be on the park, so he goes and hopefully Laulala is fit too.

I just love how he sells the best dummy ever. Here looks sideways, and moves sideways, with arms ready to pass. Fort some reason the ABs are fooled every time, then snap he’s runs straight! It’s like magic, I can’t understand how’s he does it successful, time and again.

Also his mo rocks!

Is there a better Australian scrumhalf than Nic White?
