25:Aguero goes down near the edge of the box but referee Mike Dean isn’t interested. The striker stays down for ages though, which doesn’t exactly endear him to the home crowd.

Shot! Aguero profits from a classic bit of David Luiz wandering, but his shot is once again easy for Courtois to claim.
Luiz jumps out from the back and gets caught in no man’s land. City’s striker drives straight through the gap which had opened up. The shot was scuffed

Shot! Fernandinho is given acres of space just outside the box and with all other options shut off to him he decides to let fly. He had a lot behind it- it was straight at Courtois though.

18: Having previously held the wood over City in the league, the last 15 meetings haven’t been as kind to the Blues. They have lost seven times against the Manchester outfit in that time, while also finishing all square in three of them. The start has been a strong one here though.
Chelsea look happy to allow City to the majority of possession. The men in orange have seen a whole lot of the ball- 60% so far, but haven’t really created anything yet. The home side look dangerous on the counter.

GOAL! Hazard strikes from inside the box and Chelsea have an early lead.

It was the Belgian who started the attack and then inexplicably was able to drift into the box unmarked. Azpilicueta delivered a delightful cut back and from there, it looked like only one outcome was likely. Kompany got a slight nick on it which made it impossible to stop for Caballero.

Chelsea 1-0 City

10:Pedro breaks away from inside his own half with team mates streaming forward in support. He has time to pick the run of Alonso but his pass is blocked. It fortunately bounces back to him, only for the Spaniard once again to fail to find his team mate.

7: It has been quite a subdued opening at the Bridge. City look calm in possession just knocking it around between them, while when Chelsea get it they are striding forward through Hazard who is looking to cause all sorts of problems down City’s right hand side.

4: Interesting set up from City as Guardiola has brought in Delph to provide a little more balance in the middle of the pitch. He’s sitting deep early as City see the most of the early play, before the English international gives it away sloppily and Chelsea break.
Alonso flashes a ball across the six yard box, but it is dealt with well by Stones.

So, the major news is the return of Vincent Kompany into City’s defence after last featuring in November last year. The captain is also surprisingly joined by Fabian Delph who comes into the side in place of Raheem Sterling.

Meanwhile, Nemanja Matic drops out of Chelsea’s starting side in favour of Kurt Zouma. It is his first start in the league for 14 months for the injury plagued defender.

We are underway at the Bridge…

On that note, Andre Villas Boas was the last man in charge in the Chelsea dugout when they lost back to back home league games. Antonio Conte last suffered that as a manager in 2009 when leading Atlanta.

However, Pep Guardiola has his own bit of managerial history on his side this evening. The Spaniard has never lost both league fixtures against an opposing manager in a season. Chelsea already beat City 3-1 in the reverse of this game, so could Conte be the first manager to break this anomaly?

Hello and welcome to The Roar’s live blog for this massive clash between Chelsea and Manchester City. The Blues were dealt their first league defeat since January last weekend when they succumbed to Crystal Palace, which has seen a renewed interest in the title race. They haven’t lost back to back league fixtures since 2011 though, so Manchester City have it all to do if they are to leave the Bridge with all three points.

Another hugely disappointing visit to Anfield for Spurs, who were thoroughly outplayed here.
The Reds first half attacking display was, at times, unplayable. The movement of Firmino, Coutinho and Mane played havoc on an weakened back line; Dier and Davies in particular caught way off the pace.
A first win of 2017 for Klopp’s side will be most welcomed and they have regained their position in the top four for the time being. Other sides will have certainly been put on notice by that first half display- where they made the previously rock solid Spurs defence look amateur.

Even into the last minute Wijnaldum and Lallana are relentlessly closing down Spurs.
Anfield is in fine voice now as the final seconds tick away. It’s going to be a first Premer League win of 2017 for Liverpool.

92: Klopp’s final change is to bring on local boy Trent Alexander Arnold on for two goal hero Mane. He’s shown the Reds exactly what they were missing over January with a scintillating first half display.

90: Into stoppage time now as Liverpool have comfortably seen out the final ten minutes. The board goes up and four minutes is to be added on.

80: Dier goes into the book for a foul out wide- he is the seventh man to see yellow in this match. Not long after he competes with Firmino for a high ball, with the Brazilian going down. Dier wasn’t too happy with his reaction to the challenge there.
Meanwhile, Lucas is down and doesn’t seem like he is okay to continue. Klavan is being prepared to ride out these last minutes

78: Dembele is replaced first for Sissoko. While it is Coutinho who makes way for Can. A sign that Klopp is trying to shore up the middle of the park here in the final ten minutes or so.
Liverpool 2-0 Spurs

Shot! Coutinho tries his luck from the edge of the box but his shot is scuffed wide. That was a rare attack from the Reds.
Meanwhile, Emre Can is being given his final instructions as he prepares to come on. He may be replacing Lallana who was flattened by Wanyama in a late challenge.

73: Some nice foot work from Firmino fashions an opening for his side, but nothing comes of it. Speaking of nothing Walker drives down the right once again and smacks a cross that avoids everyone and goes out for a goal kick. The already unhappy Pochettino is making himself heard on the touchline after that one.

71: Winks is on barely a few minutes before he gets a yellow for a foul on Milner. This second half has been a lot slower and a lot more feisty as both teams have cancelled each other out so far.
The free kick for Liverpool is swung in from the far left and Matip wins the header. It is straight at Loris though. He should have done better with that one.

68: Unnecessary from Kane and a sign of his frustration as he goes in heavy on Clyne. The England right back was going nowhere there. From the free kick though the Reds give away the ball, It is all a bit scrappy at the minute.
First sub of the game- Winks comes on to replace Eriksen.
Milner then goes into the book for a foul on Kane.

Liverpool vs Tottenham Hotspur highlights: Premier League scores, blog

67: Liverpool have conceded possession to Spurs- seemingly happy to just sit back and soak up the pressure. When the ball enters into the likes of Dier though, the press is sprung into action.

64: Walker drives down the left and earns his side a corner. It is woeful though and provokes no pressure as Mignolet easily comes out and claims it. A break is on, but the keeper just cant find Mane.
