Surely the fact that Hird and the football department as a whole felt the need to exclude the long serving club doctor Bruce Reid from the supplement program show that they knew this whole practice was hardly ethical. Hird might not have to stand down just yet, but one feels the end is nigh.

So yes he lied and he is almost certainly lying about using it once. Not a surprise given cycling at the time, but is too much to ask for a bit of honesty? It is a shame when you have to respect someone like Tyson Gay just because he doesn’t underestimate the intelligence of the public and doesn’t offer some garbage sabotage story.
