Very happy with this signing.

If Bell and Mahe can stay injury free…. We could be in for a good season.

High fives for January Champions!!!

Exclusive: Wallabies star to return to Waratahs in fresh blow to Rebels

Couldn’t disagree more. Fantastic signing.

Suaalii probably does walk into the Wallabies. That’s not something I agree with unproven, but you’re probably right.

However, Kellaway would have to compete for the spot in the Wobbs regardless of the Super team he was in.

For mine, Kellaway, Pietsch and Jorgo could be very dangerous for a Super Rugby back 3 if the pigs can hold up their end of the deal!

I am liking how pretty much everyone is in support of Schmidt.

The very, very small minority against him seem to resolve that “He’s not Aussie”. I’ve not seen/read anything of substance that indicates he isn’t capable, or wasn’t the best option available.

Let’s get behind the old fox.

Schnitty Schmiddy.

Exclusive: Wallabies to turn to Kiwi Schmidt as Eddie Jones' replacement

The “Aussie Joe” was tongue in cheek. He’s our Aussie now 😉

A good, and the expected appointment. It will be far less divisive amongst the fans than any of the last decade.

Now let’s get down to business Aussie Joe!!!

Exclusive: Wallabies to turn to Kiwi Schmidt as Eddie Jones' replacement

I think this will be the most well received appointment in a long time for the Wallabies by fans.

Stuff always gets leaked before an appointment like this. Probably whichever one was tasked with it 😉

I’ve been a bit excited for Foketi’s return.

He wasn’t improving much for a few years at the Tahs. But then got his Wallabies call up in 2021 it seemed to change a switch in the bloke. Constant improvement to a well rounded footballer but bitten by injury a few times.

Yep! didn’t reply as I was making the pancake mix for sprogs tomorrow. Feel it’s gonna be a late night!

How do the Reds and Tahs shape up ahead of their final trial?

Did you watch the Tahs last year? they need the extra hour on the Reds!@

Has anyone heard anything about the ‘delayed kickoff’ stated on the Reds Rugby stream?

Feeling like a Covid cancellation is coming on right now.

Anyone got some answers?

We’ll be kicking a lot. Need a line out general all game. We have Phillip starting for LO calling with more impact around ground, but need a spare regardless. Low LO specialist stocks in OZ. Simmons is not a world beater but is at international level, has a wealth of experience and stable. Let the others do the fancy stuff and have impact 😉

O'Connor at 10, four debutants in Wallabies team for Bledisloe 1

I love the team. As with many, I was surprised by Gordon but makes sense.

It looks like we’ll be playing a lot of territory + chasers/contested kicks. Forwards will be slowing the breakdown and pushing up the middle.

Playmaking will come off White. Lolesio and Gordon to come on at the same time with Lolesio taking the playmaking and other backs pushed out.

Very excited. Win or lose….. Let’s go Wallabies!!!!

Fantastic game. It was SW on steroids.

So much in the live scores page was attributed to Japan’s defence. But I’d argue it was their attacking game plan that drove the steak into the heart.

Many have rightfully applauded Leitch for his awesome work when Mafi came off, and rightfully so. But this game was won up the centre by 15 Jap players.

The pigs worked fkn hard to get over the gain line, and succeeded. In my opinion, the not so recognised cog of the solidified attacking plan was the little blokes running lines as hard as they could up the guts. It absolutely wore the big green blokes out!

To conclude, it’s the SW game plan with the cattle to do it!

Brave Blossom boilover: Japan stun Ireland at RWC 2019

I only saw the game from 32 mins in and missed the mistakes mentioned here and in the live thread from Frisby early on. I really liked Frisbys pop passing off the base of the ruck. I felt it was prominent; albeit not pretty and crisp like many people want to see typical scrum half service, in the reds busting up the mid field and creating opportunities. It seemed like the scrummy equivalent of a pick and drive. A pop n drive if you will.

I also felt the reds dominated most of flowing play and the breakdown. I really enjoyed the balance of their back row and think we will see plenty of entertaining rugby from what the link play of George, Higgers and Kerevi will bring. Special mention to George for some of the work he does…. Calling the ref on rules (15m lineout), breaking up the guts through a few defenders and staunchly keeping possession until his younger teamies catch up and; my personal favorite, driving exceptionally low on that last Kerevi try. It completely freed him from having someone on his back. If he went mid or high, it just would have forced the defender onto Kerevi.

The Sharks showed their mettle through some forward driven set piece (mauling mainly) and Lambie from the tee. Bless his little space boots. I don’t have too much to say as I honestly didn’t watch them as close (but also felt more lethargy in their game.

All in all I really enjoyed the game for a first of the season hit out. Rust was present but so was brilliance.

Lastly, I felt QC didn’t have a great game. A try was scored on a good pop pass, but I have purposely left out further comment as I feel the Reds performance does not deserve to be dragged petty debates about fly halves.

Please Roarers; comment on performance without comparison. It was a great first hit out.

Disclaimer: I saw nothing prior to the 32nd minute and am an avid Tahs fan.

Scrappy Reds edge Sharks in Super win

Dun know. Foley changed his line, but it was about 10m before contact and he changed to run towards the ball.

Even if he he did. Foley would have then been penalised, would not farrell be penalised for a retaliation shoulder charge?

Good stuff.

Wallabies team for first Test against England: Arnold, Kerevi and Haylett-Petty to debut

100% agree.

I normally love Matty Lucas as a replacement, so much energy to burn. On that occasion was a horrible call to tap.

I thought there was gonna be a Willy Wonka mention.

Waratahs vs Cheetahs highlights: Waratahs grind out a victory

Yeah, it’s looked good. Powerful is probably the best descriptive word. Almost like someone told them “OK guys, the majority of you can’t scrummage well….. But yer big fecks….. Just push really hard and apply pressure!”

While I agree Kearnsey is a clown (especially with commentary), wasn’t that good vision and the right option to take?
