When you look at the side on view.
Tino initiates the contact. He seeks to make forceful contact with the defender in a similar manner to a fend. Except he uses his forearm on the defenders head.
I don’t think Tino plays origin II.

I was really suprisedthat Capewell got dropped. He has been great for QLD and has been in reasonable form this year.
Both coaches taking major gambles with rookies who can be match-winners but also make costly blunders
Agree. To,o doesn’t deserve auto selection. He has been relatively quiet. Fittler will be criticised for picking another fullback in the team if he picks Edwards. I support Edwards selection but can’t see it happening.
NSW Origin I team: Hynes, Pangai, Young to debut, Turbo, Frizell, Foxx back but duo ruled out in new-look side
Dont know the answer, but a game from that era is more than worth a watch. On first glance it looks the same but then subtle differences start to jump out. Like the ball catchers returning off the kick-off 😁

Agreed, the was the era when centre was a glamour position.

His was a standout! What a whole hearted player. Not a body shape you see these days playing NRL

That is a damning insight from players. Horrid

True words. I just think he deserves to be picked this year. Otherwise we are rewarding mediocre performance
Does form mean nothing if Blues overlook red-hot Hynes for Origin selection again?
I hear you loud and clear. I often wonder if the team was chosen just on merit each year without the pressure of a game being played (academic exercise) how different the teams would be. Like an all-australian or dally m 5/8 of the year.
If its on form and merit, Nicho is probably first picked. Come on Freddie, you can do it. Imagine having a second kicker, Imagine having a half who isn’t firing up the Qld pack. Imagine having a half that doesn’t go missing?

Now that idea has merit. Good thinking 99

When you have significant first nation Australians objecting to the voice, i think the NRL would do well to stay out of it.
Keep politics out of sport? Why NRL simply had to throw its support behind the Voice
I don’t know what their problem is but they are a fascinating case study.
Great coach, great players, average results in 2023. Sometimes you just got to wait for it to click. They will make the 8, everyone can relax.

Apart from Hass, NSW front row stocks lack intimidation. I think that is NSW weakness this year.
Junior Paulo looks too big and slow for origin now. Also Hudson Young has to be on the bench.
