Fair enough
We’ll see

One thing each non-finalist needs to do before next season

If you are aiming for top 8 then should be aiming for top 4. As I said if they stopped having the bad quarter they would automatically be top 4 as their other 3 quarters are at that level

One thing each non-finalist needs to do before next season

Yattuzzi Blues won the third most quarters of all teams. They were uncompetitive in one quarter in nearly all games this year (won our loss). Other teams will get momentum but they were unable to stop it or score during it. That is the big improvement needed. Next year will show if they can take that next step. If they can then to 4 is possible as they are able to dominate all teams for periods of games

That’s your mate who signs off on Carlton contracts Chucka?

One thing each non-finalist needs to do before next season

He’ll play midfield and is just what Blues need. I think he’s a gun. GWS have a glut of fun midfielders – which is why they keep losing them. I’ve seen 3 reported amounts so I would take them all with a grain of salt. I’ll leave it to the clubs anyway as they have all the info and expertise so we would have no idea anyway

Williams to leave Giants

AFL website starting Williams has chosen the Blues
Very happy with this news

Williams to leave Giants

Ever umpired WASS? Split second decisions often based on your interpretation of what you have observed. Nothing simple about it.

Six talking points from AFL Round 18

Sidebottom is a fantastic player.

Carlton missing Tom Papley is a blessing in disguise

Papley for pick 9 last year would have been a good deal. However let’s see how Brodie Kemp goes as we might decide in a couple of years time we were lucky that deal didn’t go through
Swans were going to ask too much this year and it is becoming more and more evident that our need is midfield run and spread.

Carlton missing Tom Papley is a blessing in disguise

He definitely looked for any chance to sink the boot in to the Crows so it was a perfect storm for him to unleash all of his misplaced fury

The backlash to Gibbs' send-off is laughable

Thanks for the article Dem. Beautifully constructed full of well deserved praise for Kade.
A true Carlton champion

An ode to Kade Simpson

Not sure about the excess, Casboult only has one or two years at best. He is good insurance for injury or if McGovern fails to improve.
Alternatively, Casboult plays as second ruck and McGovern is the one who has to force himself into the team.
One of them can also go back if Marchbank doesn’t come good.
I think likely Blues will be delisting back up talks rather than trading.
FDK, Curnow and McKay are the ones with currency and none will be traded.

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

Get your facts straight PtS. I’ll defend Macca in this one. He has never claimed finals for this year ( I hope he does for next year!). I thought finals this year and by my assessment we have failed.
Still we’ll go around again next year and a big pre-season and Charlie back and I’m sure I’ll be pumped again.

In height Macca but not with. As Cool said the other day his legs were tree trunks
Closet players since like Big Nick was Plugger

Last time the Kangas finished last they went to a chequebook and won two flags.
As we are all discovering that’s not an option anymore (and it nearly sent them broke then). You are going to have to do the hard yards to transition from the oldest team in the league to one with promise. I don’t think the coach is your biggest issue

Six talking points from AFL Rounds 16 and 17

Liam, Dockers have finished well and I think Longmuir will be a good coach. I also think they are a good chance to improve again next year.
However for 2020 they have been out of finals contention for sometime. Staying in contention is the next step of maturity and the one after that is winning with the pressure of expectation.
Despite all the obvious improvement they were actually in contention for finals longer last year than this year.
Next year will be a really important one.

Your ongoing and pointless sense of injustice Don is a small rainbow of contentment after the cloudy gloom that was the first half of the Adelaide game.

Love the big Tractor, he gave his all for the club. There are many games where his determination and will to win was the catalyst for victory. Even this decision shows his selflessness.
I also hope he stays around to coach the next generation.

Kreuzer set to announce AFL retirement

That last quarter sold me on TDK Macca
He stood up when it counted and his follow up contest work was Kreuzer like. I can also see he will take the marks around the ground you want from a ruckman. Lastly he has skill and agility above most people his height.
His leap and tap work I was already impressed by – I just think you need more from a ruckman. I think we have a real gem.

Go for it Dingo.
Wade’s first article, adding to the undeniable interest in the blues.
It seems Carlton supporters and haters habe writing articles as a common passion.

Why the maturing Blues are ready for success in 2021

I spent a couple of years in Coburg too as a kid (although a bit after you two as Wallsy taught my older brother at school rather than went to school with him).
My uncle was a trainer at Coburg when Big Nick was coaching. I have this lasting memory of just how big he was – and I don’t mean tall. Just thick!

David Teague calls for Patrick Cripps support

Keep Teague in a lesser role…I don’t think sacking Teague is the answer. Jeff stop and think a bit.

We need a key forward…trade out Charlie Curnow. Where to start…

2020: positives – more competitive, can dominant teams, control games and play finals level football all for patches of games. We have the key position players to compete at the pointy end
negatives – exactly what Teague has said not enough willing to dig in when game is on the line. Biggest worry is whether midfield recruits will make that leap. Quite a few are a long way of the pace from what they have shown.
Development isn’t linear and unfortunately we are now in the group looking to next year. At least we were still alive for longer than we have been for 7 years.

David Teague calls for Patrick Cripps support

I agree in part.
They can do it but often can’t sustain it for four quarters. I don’t know if it is fitness, strength, experience (or all 3)
I do think they need a bit more speed through the centre, with the right attitude this would help with the defensive pressure on the turnover

What Carlton need before next season
