Agreed, would of liked to see a bit more from a couple of the runners though
CF Orr Stakes: Runner by runner analysis
Yea Carriages is definately not one I could put a line through but with the very wide barrier (9 out of past ten winners have been in barriers 1-9) and the fact that it hasnt raced past 1000m and will be doing so for the first time on a heavy track suggests to me that it might run out of steam, but hey i’ve been wrong plenty of times before and Gai loves MM day
$2million Classic Magic Millions preview
I agree, The Bowler looks a big chance, in the guineas im leaning towards Testashadow in a pretty open race
$2million Classic Magic Millions preview
Yea have to agree, Araldo looks in great shape
Runner-by-runner analysis of the Caulfield Cup
wont be seeing him in the Caulfield Cup Bondy but looks a big chance for the Plate after that run
Caulfield Stakes review and analysis
Yes it does look that way, although I think I made that mistake last year! Should be a cracker of a race
Caulfield Stakes review and analysis
yes, I had already submitted the article when I heard the news yesterday, unfortunate for connections
Caulfield Stakes review and analysis
Yea I havent found Ninth Legion to be disappointing but if you look at his last prep where he ran a really handy Doncaster Mile then some can be forgiven for feeling let down, he gets in at a similar weight here as the Doncaster and looks like one of the better outsiders.
Early Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) preview
yea have to agree Tim, if Boban doesnt win it wont be because of the weight, just a bit of a media beat up but dont worry horses cant read articles!
Early Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) preview
I cant see why such a fuss had been made about the weight, he has carried over 57kg’s for his last 10 starts so it is nothing new for him, big chance in my opinion and currently looks great value at $7’s.
Early Group 1 Epsom Handicap (1600m) preview
haha I just re-lived the race!
Yea the 2000m is the big question, I think he may find one better on the day but time will tell
Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes review
Yea was super impressed by Fawkner and think we will be seeing him in the winning circle again very soon. Green Moon was also good and I thought he was pretty handy earlier in the year in Melbourne, that form should see him having a good Spring.
Group 1 Makybe Diva Stakes review
Yea I think it is just a little hard to measure up the current form of most of these runners with all the rain effected tracks that have been around, especially Almalad who clearly did not handle the conditions in the Run To The Rose, hopefully the weight relief and a drier track will bring the best out of him
Golden Rose Stakes early preview
Yea looking forward to seeing how Commanding Jewel runs after nearly a year off, that looks a good race up against Gregers who is flying and as you said Real Surreal is a good chance.
Think the Memsie is set up for something to fly home late, pace should be solid with a few genuine leaders, time will tell!
Group 1 Memsie Stakes 1400m preview and tips
Have to agree with every thing you have stated Bondy, although I am not completely keen on Sweet Idea, just think she lacks the class of a couple of these but she has proved me wrong before and im not willing to leave her out this time!
Group 1 Memsie Stakes 1400m preview and tips
Have to disagree Bondy, Weary looked good on heavy tracks in Autumn (won a group 3 and ran 3rd in the Doncaster on heavy), Hawkspur is 2 wins and 2 places from six starts on slow/heavy going and Criterion won two Group ones last prep on heavy/slow tracks. Although Messene has to be questioned in the wet (looks a bit short to me)
Warwick Stakes preview
yes I have to agree, while I think Srikandi has a heap of talent, I think she is a bit short in the market and others make more appeal with the prices on offer
Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap preview
Hot Snitzel seems to relish with give in the ground, this may have been why he was too good for Knoydart in Sydney, I think Knoydart’s run was pretty brave, but you are right in saying they both have to be in the mix, its a very open race.
Group 1 Doomben 10,000 preview
Yes, I am finding it hard to jump on the Leebaz band wagon at the current price offered although I think he will drift out a bit come race day. Streama also looks too short to jump on but I am a fan and she is expected to improve on a better track.
Group 1 Doomben Cup 2000 metre preview
yea have to agree that it looks like its going to be a red hot tempo, but I dont think they can go back on Sistine Demon from the wide barrier as he will likely get trapped wide, think they have to go forward and hope he pings out of the gates, will be interesting to see the tactics
The Tapestry Wines Goodwood preview
Yea Sistine Demon looks in great touch, any concerns about him dropping back to 1200m? His best runs have been over a bit more distance but he still looks a top chance
The Tapestry Wines Goodwood preview
Shame to see both Green Moon and Mourayan scratched for the BMW, thought they would both run a good race and add some value…
Preview for Golden Slipper and BMW
Royal Descent was also fast finishing in a pace that probably didn’t suit
