Love AFL, not interested in any other sports really. Have attended a dozen or so grand finals in my life, none of which I have had to pay to get in. (Work that out yourself). Collingwood tragic and member.

He had his chances Billy but was purely focused on stopping Andrews so perhaps his mindset was not in forward mode?

Macrae looks ready to go Opps hey? Will be first off the rank to replace Tay if he leaves.

I’m just so thankful we won a close one mate. Pendles and Sidey defying age Kevo, let’s hope soft tissue doesn’t catch up with those two dual premiership players. Macrae and Reef waiting in the wings. Noble will come back in, who else do you think can arrive? Young Ryan looks a good one. What happens with Will Kelly?

Kevo I’m hearing some stories of building a war chest for the 2024 trade period but also believe the club are trying to improve their draft hand. Might look to swap some futures. I believe Derek Hine has a target in mind but still not sure which. You riding high from the flag Kevo?

Josh had a great season Chris. Was a little down in the finals but may have been asked, like Sidey, to be more of a defensive wing.

Felt so bad for Tay Adams. Ten years chasing the flag with the Pies. Training injury of all things. Deserved his flag. If he does move it will be chasing more mid time rather than being peeved at the Tuesday fitness test I’d say.

Great for Josh to get some recognition outside of the media fixation on Nick. Love seeing Tommy Mitchell so high up in the voting too. What a perfect pick up by the club. Thought he played a sensational grand final. Chased that flag with his move to the Hawks and got the timing a bit wrong. Racked up 50 plus possessions once I think against Buckley’s Pies. Finally got his flag first year at the Pies in a deal done in the final minutes. What a story Tommy.

Thanks Chanon! Lipinski did his role well. 👍
Grand Final Fix: How Fly's Pies beat the Lions at their own game for a 16th - and greatest - flag
I thought Pendles was massive in the last quarter as tired legs came back to his speed, seemed to be everywhere and so composed, I think he had 11 touches last qtr , 3 marks, 3 tackles.

Thanks for your gracious comment DingoGray and commiserations. Was truly, in my opinion watching the replay, one of the great grand finals. Lions will no doubt be deep contenders again next year.

How good were the Lions looking in that second quarter Nics. I didn’t want a shootout with that forward line, lucky things tightened second half.

Great summary. Commiserations to the Lions for an epic battle and just so thankful to get one. They are so hard to win and three finals wins under 7 points shows it. Go Pies!

Pay that Nics! 😂

15 and 27.
2 big numbers .
Won 15, lost 27.
No doubt at my age the Pies have tormented me with a ridiculous amount of close GF losses, excuses, heartache. I’d still rather contend deep as we can each year though even if we get done today.
I wrote a piece in here 5 years ago before the 2018 GF and another heartbreaking loss.
Don’t want to moz us this time. Hoping Fly has us ready but Lions have been so good for 5 years now and have so many weapons. Go Pies. Enjoy the game everyone.

Frodo I’d say Cox, Moore and JDG would all be gone if Bucks stayed.
