I get confused with the Giants Seagulls Chargers Gladiators Titans thing. The Giants were black and silver the Seagulls white red and black hoops I think but who were the purple and the teale the Chargers or the Gladiators?

Would be interesting to see when the Panthers and especially the Storm are giving away the repeat set. I suspect that Bellamy who has form in this means the Storm are giving it away early at first or second tackle so its pretty meaningless but are holding up oppositions long enough to get set defensively.

I think he was watching the lopsided AFLW and the Women’s A league and decided he didnt want the big blowouts and the top teams like the Adelaide Crows and Sydney FC always winning — but that is something that takes time and experience to overcome – you cant overcome it instantaneously. Brisbane will dominate — and that’s a good thing as other clubs will watch them and learn and overtake them eventually as were the Crows this year.It takes time patience and a commitment to money over the long haul.

Last year League was more Exciting then AFL- The Six again rule was fairly limited last year but the cart blanche manner its been put to use this year have led to the blowouts. They tweeked it too much. I also think the Scrums give the defence time to set -even though they are one sided. – why cant referees roll the ball in scrums ? It would at least make it more of a Contest.

Disagree entirely- This is not NFL when the attacking team can march down the field indefinitely and players can take a break between downs. The previous scoring team in NRL can be penned down in the back of their half if the defence is good for the whole set or are a mistake or turnover can happen. By kicking to the non scoring team momentum and field position are still with the previous scorers. If you watched any super league game you would have seen this happening. This is why when the the re-amalgamation happened that was the first rule they were keen to scrap.

It's a critical week for the NRL season
Both Teams were coached very well defensively even though the rain added to the low score it’s the attack on both sides that needs improving. A lot of times passes were thrown before the player had drawn the defensive leading to some hospital passes and hit ups were not followed up with quick play the balls.

Watching O’Brien over the last month shrugging his shoulders in indifference in interviews was what I found disappointing. If the coach gives up then the team will follow. With The Knights if your worried that you aint gonna get paid ala Tinkler that’s gonna bring you down a lot.Knights were looking for a way out of the endless poverty cycle without a clubs backing and they elected for the quick fix with private ownership and faced the consequences. “The” Steve Walters did indeed play for the knights in his twilight year. He was part of the Wok Ryan Old Boys brigade that Ryan bought in to get a Premiership. A tactic that worked out slightly less well as when Bennett had a crack at it later. I seem to remember Steve had an injury and came in off the bench a lot. There was none of the offloads or the darts from dummy halves that made him a legend at the Raiders . Just hit ups and a couple of tackles as he went through the motions. Needless to say the Newie supporters gave Ryan heaps for the lack of enthusiasm not just from Walters but the whole team that year
The forgotten players: Newcastle Knights
If you compare the strong NFC West with the disappointing NFC East it doesn’t seem like a fair contest with at least 2 of the Seahawks Rams Cardinals and the finally getting their act together Niners missing out — while the Cowboys and Eagles are falling over themselves but at least one will make the playoffs .
