Jeff, I guess what I’m saying is that there is a risk reward situation here with Murphy. I think Cummins knows Murphy is going to get Bazballed out of the attack. I do also. So he bowls a few overs. No real reward. A wasted selection. That is another reason I won’t go for Murphy. The series is tight . Not the place for a newbie. If it was Lyon yes I would pick not Murphy.

Australia has to find a way to bat deeper than Carey who looks intimidated to me. Neser gives us the Woakes type. England knows lower order runs are CRITICAL whereas we don’t seem to care. Proven with Woakes getting them over the line. Or they go with both Marsh and Green. Marsh has to play. With three tight matches lower order runs are going to continue to be critical.

Better technique than Hazelwood/ Boland/ Murphy/ Cummins. He comes in for Murphy for mine. He is the Terry Alderman type who was successful.

That is ironic. The middle order has to have a decent lower order batter to partner with. That is Australia’s problem. The lower order is so deficient in batting skills they can’t partner with the middle order.
