I’d forgotten Nic Nat was even a registered player. How many games has he played in the last three seasons?

AFL News: Coach hits back at Eagles legend over de Goey incident, North won't rush Clarko, NicNat's dire prognosis

I agree with Scott’s assessment but it is the inconsistency that is the problem. Two identical tackles and player A is summoned and Player B is ignored.

I’d love to see that!

I support your comment, as a Power supporter it makes sense. I am a little troubled by Georgiades form pre ACL injury. He doesn’t seem to have developed since 2021.

I’ve heard some with the opinion he may not be a part of Port’s future.

Footy Fix: Rapid, ruthless and relentless - the match-winning nine seconds that summed up a famous Power win

I can’t understand why it’s taking so long to reach an outcome. I also can’t understand why someone from the AFL doesn’t explain the reasons behind the delay.

Justice delayed is justice denied. If there are procedural problems that can’t be resolved then the case should be thrown out and no adverse findings should be recorded against the accused.

'Destroyed the fabric of this guy': North great takes aim at racism process after Clarkson stands down

I don’t have any strong feelings one way or the other on the mid season draft.

However, I do want to pick up on one point.

In fifty years of watching Rugby League I have never heard the suggestion that a player signing for another club mid season has led to a deterioration in their desire to win for their current team.

Should there be a mid-season trade period in the AFL?

It’s not the Ginnivan rule that irritates me. It’s when umpires award a free kick when there is a ground ball scramble and a mid fielder picks up the ball and uses his head as a drilling bore into the guts of an opponent who is trying to back away.

Constant rule changes have made umpiring in the AFL impossible - and the game is suffering

I can’t understand why so many fans are convinced the Cats aren’t in the hunt for the flag. Their depth is the envy of the competition and losing the first three games can be explained as a premiership hangover.

Yes, the Tigers towelled them up last night night but the Cats had several key players missing and certainly weren’t flogged. Just beaten by a hungrier team.

On another note, the media and many fans tend to ignore the Power. I think that probably suits Kenny and his charges.. They’ve garnered a reputation of over promising and under delivering over the last several seasons but they will certainly make opponents work for their victories.

Clear favourite, surprise smoky and the coach who 'refuses to change anything': who sits where in the premiership race?

I have no idea what occurred at Hawthorn with the racist allegations. That being said, I do feel it’s disappointing that the investigation is taking this long. I’m astonished that neither Clarkson or Fagan have yet to be formally interviewed.

If there is a problem with the procedure they should shut the inquiry down.

I think you’ve summed it up fairy well and I totally agree with Canberra Pear. I have worked and lived in Canberra and their attendance at games is more about entertainment regardless of the code and not because they love GWS. Also the Raiders and Brumbies already have a strong foothold.

For me, I would not be too quick to ignore mergers and/or relocation or a worse case scenario, expulsion. I have seen this work in the NRL (Newtown, North Sydney, Balmain, Illawarra) and even the AFL (Fitzroy, Bears) and commercially it is the soundest option. I know how fans feel about “losing” their club but on paper, its the solution that makes the most sense.

With Tasmania locked in to join the competition, where is the inevitable 20th AFL team destined to come from?

Yeah off season chatter is hardly worth the effort to read or listen to it. We were also told, Hinkley can’t coach, the Crows to finish in the bottom four and Richmond were a genuine flag threat.

There’s a still a way to run so I’ll shut up now or I’ll end up looking silly too.

'Who are they going to be?' Time for Freo to figure out what they stand for

Will we see him lift the premiership cup in the red white and black?

Probably not. Nevertheless, this club has made genuine progress and will be a threat to all the top 8 fancies for the rest of this season and beyond.

I think this season has settled down now and only Geelong and Collingwood have consistently displayed that ruthless form that matters so much in September,

Are the Saints the real deal?

What’s the contract situation with Naitinui?

AFL Power Rankings Round Seven: Coleman for Curnow, Hell to pay for in the North, debacle in the West

I think you’re right. The problem with the free kick rules is that it is a one size fits all. A technical free kick draws the same penalty as reckless foul play.

I know we risk adding to the umpire burden but to me this is an area that could be examined and trialled in the lower competitions. Both Rugby Union and League overhauled their gradings of free kicks and it has improved the game (but nothing fixes ALL problems).

AFL Power Rankings Round Seven: Coleman for Curnow, Hell to pay for in the North, debacle in the West

Seems like a fair analysis. West Coast are in awful trouble. How can the wealthiest sporting club in Australia end up so uncompetitive. Yes, yes I know they have a long injury list. But is it also a failure of player list management?

Good point.

Footy Fix: Horne-Francis was incredible... but it was Hinkley's finest coaching hour that unlocked the Saints at last

I think it’s possible both SA Clubs could finish in the top 8, probably in the lower levels 5 to 8..

As everyone keeps saying, it’s a long season. Injuries and loss of form are inevitable and could yet affect the South Aussie based teams.

Footy Fix: Horne-Francis was incredible... but it was Hinkley's finest coaching hour that unlocked the Saints at last

I’m surprised two experts are predicting a Crows win against Collingwood. This is the same Crows who fell over the line by three points against one of the weakest teams team in the competition last weekend.

The Roar's AFL expert tips and predictions Round 7: Is it just us, or is tipping getting easier?

I don’t care who you put in charge of coaching at the Suns, the results would be similar. We’ll probably never know how good a coach is Dew because he is facing unique challenges that most other coaches don’t have ( GWS excepted).

If you want to know how good a coach Chris Scott is, send him to the Gold Coast for five years and we’ll find out.

I do agree though that the Suns could take a leaf out of the new Dolphins (NRL) book. Recruit talent that really wants to be there and NEVER overpay a middling player in order to attract others. Early in Alex Ferguson’s career he would often put a high priced new recruit into the reserves. Teach them humility and remind them that playing first grade for Man U was a gift not an expectation.

Enough talking, it's time for the Suns to shine

Maybe we’ll get the Grand Final in 2023 that many judges reckon we should have got in 2022, Geelong versus Collingwood. The Swans were more than terrible last weekend, even taking onto account their loss of defenders.

Of the teams you’ve ranked towards the top, I reckon the Crows are the most vulnerable to a slide. A last minute goal to beat the struggling Hawks by 3 points is not convincing me they will finish in the top 6.

AFL Power Rankings Round Six: Seventh Heaven for Charlie as another Anzac Day breaks records

Its difficult to believe this Dee’s team is the same as the one that waved the white flag early in the match against the Lions a month or so ago.

For Tiger’s fans, you would have enjoyed the first half. They would have beaten most teams but the Demons showed their ability to absorb pressure and crank up their own skills to thwart a Richmond victory.

The only puzzle with the Demons is why they are so inconsistent. They tend to hibernate in some games and look like work beaters in others.

Footy Fix: Tenacious Tigers run the gauntlet and fight the good fight - but the house always wins

Oh no, everyone tipped Port Adelaide. They’re doomed!

You make a strong case and I’ve a hunch that Cameron may win the Brownlow, assuming he maintains his current form.

Forget the Coleman - here's why Jeremy Cameron could join Plugger with a Brownlow too

I can’t understand the selectors reluctance to pick Bancroft.
