really looking forward to seeing the young kids have a crack at West Coast including Alex Witherden. looking at the intra club scratchys the kids are rearing to go and mature Jack darling looks like the proverbial brick outhouse on fire !

West Coast had no one left on the bench, played a top side with copious amounts dubious umpiring decisions with a 9 point loss, to me thats a win . Give credit where its due.
Hopefully the next derby wont be played in freo or with sub standard umpires which should end in a different result

i think the other player to keep an eye on at West Coast is Oscar Allen. With JK having his (presumably) last season , i recon we will see more of Oscar up forward taking some big grabs, this kid can play.

2 others i can add to the “fight” for the Eagles and thats Petrucelli and Ah Chee. The last 3-4 games Petra had were terrible and i was very surprised he was given a new deal for a few years. Ah Chee can be a damaging player , however, a lot of the time you dont realize he’s even on the ground. Another surprise to be re drafted. The mighty Eagles need guts and grit lot most of there players have , no room for passengers

I hear that if Rioli is unable to play, the AFL have allowed the Eagles to draft another player, before the start of the season, and Alec Waterman & Cedric Cox are in the mix. Lets hope Rioli is running around in Eagles colors again in 2021.
Regarding the mid season draft, its nothing short of raping the lower grades of ground roots footy and should be banned. WAFL, SANFL etc.. need assistance from the AFL not have players plucked out of a team mid season and create disruption to the team line ups , experience etc..

West Coast have some good young kids coming through even without the draft this year. I’m impressed with Waterman, Brander, Cameron, Allen, O’Niel etc.. and Jones showed he can play a bit before he got injured.

footyguy, Cameron from West Coast barely played a game so not sure why he was mentioned.
For me at the mighty Eagles, Petrucelli needs to lift by a mile and i’m actually a bit stunned he got a few more years contract. The Last 3 games he played were crap and prior to that he was mediocre. I’d put Jones ahead of him in a selection. Kelly has shown some good signs, but not near enough to show why we sold the farm to get him. Shuey should be the very last eagles player mentioned anywhere that needs to lift as in the story on here.

count on average how many free kicks there are in a game , times that by how long it will take the teams to get back into position , that ridiculous. In 2 years time this game will be unrecognizable, memberships will drop and people will start supporting something else because it has been smashed with stupid rule changes

The “good” for me was Brisbane getting knocked out of the GF when they barely packed a bag all season when other teams had to hub for months, twice. There mate Gil tried to get them over the line but karma got in the way. Good.
The “bad” is inconstant umpiring. Example is WCE v C/wood – Gov gets a penalty because he walked the ball over the line, deemed intentional- results in a c/wood goal. c/wood do EXACTLY the same and its a throw in. Walking the ball over the line happens in every game yet mysteriously 1 was picked out against West Coast – WHY? watch the Brisbane v cats game it must have happened 10 times yet no frees. The result of a game shouldn’t depend on umpires decisions
