I agree with WCE’s comment regarding Rioli being a non Victorian. If Rioli was playing for an Victorian club his future would have been clarified ages ago. I do agree with your comment Sven – if Rioli did come back he would be surplus to the awesome talent we already have

Collingwood played well and good on them going further into the finals. West coast made some crap errors and players like Petrucelli and Ah Chee are trade bait, however, i will say the umpires made some dreadful decisions favoring the pies in there attacking arc – all every supporter asks for is CONSISTENT UMPIRING. multiple times c/wood players took the ball over the boundary deliberately and it was a throw in, Gov does it once and its a free which ends in a goal to c/wood, add that to the academy award dive act from the pies player who carried on like he was hit with by freight train in the first quarter which also resulted in a goal. Have a look at the replay – its EMBARRASSING

my take on the game >>
1. Dubious free kicks to c/wood in front & near the goal, same as Richmond earlier in the year, this time it was 3 given goals, with Richmond it was 5. (example is Gov taking the ball over the line – free kick c/wood. C/wood did the same multiple times and no free kick to the Eagles – WHY?
2. Petrucelli shouldnt have played. his last 2 games were crap and this game he had no impact. trade.
3. Schofield should have been included as a roaming back on De Goey or even cox
4. The Eagles constantly bombing the ball to a pack instead of finding a man and holding possession let us down
5. Allowing c/wood to get a quick start so we had to play catch up was the opposite of what we should have done

any team that is allowed to stay home the whole season like brisbane will always be a threat. unfortunately for them reality will hit in 2021 when they have to travel, welcome to the real world and the down fall for the lions

A case for every team in the 2020 finals
i think West Coast can beat the pies, but one of our biggest issues is covering the loss of the bull Yeo. His presence in the middle and toughness is hard to replace. Maybe put Duggo in as a replacement could be an answer. A fit Eagles side with some gun stars back i believe we can beat the cats as well – bring it on!

well said Scott. Richmond supporters praising their team for beating West Coast who was (and still is) depleted with injuries. Having 8 premiership stars out and only get beaten by 27 points is pathetic, also consider the 5 free’s in there 50 for 5 goals makes a mockery of the “praising” of Richmond. if they were that good why didnt they smash the Eagles who were just playing kids?

the Eagles will win tonight even with a huge injury list. The kids will give it there all and that’s all we can ask for. As for taking the crap out of Simmo because he looks sad, how would you like your whole 2018 Premiership midfield stars out injured? you wouldnt. The Eagles will win and stick it right up ya!

I’m glad West Coast & the WA premier stuck to their guns and didn’t fork out millions to have the “privilege” of the GF here in Perth. The AFL didnt put a cent into the new stadium so stuff them.
Choosing QLD over Perth had other factors at play and not just ignoring the health and safety aspect. Gifting a GF with possibly brisbane in it when brisbane hasnt left the state seems to be a “logical” solution to the stooges at the AFL, opposed to the GF in Perth with the Eagles possibly in it, a team that assisted in getting the season going again and has done the hub twice. dumb

Its clearly not in the best interest of heath and safety or the league to have the GF in Brisbane so i hope the legal fraternity of the WA teams demand to see the documents showing clear cause why the GF should be held in Brisbane. Taking down the hierarchy tall poppy syndrome of Gil and co should now be a priority.

Richmond played a bunch of kids at the Eagles including 2 recent debutantes and a another on the same night that have never played together before, plus JK was out early. Five frees in the fifty (3 dubious) for 5 goals and the end result was only 27 points, so all things considered i dont think Richmond played that great at all

Great to see the Eagles start fast instead of playing catch up . I too a photo of the first quarter score with Hawks 0 0 0 ! very good win by West Coast considering Waterman, Duggan and Yeo were out and we lost Redden during the game. Congrats to Nic Reid on his debut, a goal assist and kicked a goal himself plus some great tackling. Bring on GWS

Realist – your obviously either a Richmond supporter or support the VFL. The poor behavior of Richmond is nothing short of abusing the right to put on a footy jumper. It should be a privilege wearing a teams colors not acting like a spoilt brat and behaving like everyone owes you something, which is exactly why the “hate” mentality is coming out about Richmond, everyone has had a guts full. Protected species 100% and we’re all sick of it. Like a lot of people, i used to like Richmond now i loathe them with a passion.
