Thanks for the comment, Nemesis.
14 by 2020/21 would be perfect.
With expansion teams I always get drawn back to Wollongong, I believe that they should have a strong case for an A-League team.
16 teams you lay out would be ideal too, takes away games with no meaning, keeps fans engaged and clubs with everything to play for.
No more stalling, we need a 14-team comp right now
It’s not for everybody and while the 30 point gap this season is outrageous, hopefully the merger of the SPL/SFL will eventually pay dividends in the long run.
Two winners in 33 years is definitely not ideal, apart from this season, under the new SPFL banner it’s only been a 4-5 game gap from champions to second place which is the same as other major leagues around the world. People love La Liga, but since 1984 it’s been won be either Barca or Real 26 times, quality is obviously a lot better though.
Thanks for the comment.

Thanks for the comment, Mister Football. Obviously funds are crucial to the expansion of the league, I believe there will be additional funding from the FTA aspect as well, which hasn’t been factored into the deal yet.
I feel going from 10 to 12 teams just won’t be enough, FFA need to find a way to make 14 teams viable.

Jeff Horn v Manny Pacquaio will be Australia’s fight of 2017.
Mundine vs Green 2: Can Australia's fight of 2017 live up to the expectations?
We have been unable to draft any key position forward for many years and it has hurt us badly. What has also hurt the Dogs over the years is poor drafting/trading, we wasted so many picks with recycled players (Daniel Bandy, Jade Rawlings, Andrew Wills we can go on and on) it has set back the club for many years.
The new crop of players that the club have drafted has moved us into the right direction, Crameri offers a target and is a good pick up, but he isn’t a key position player. Jones can also add value to the team if played in the correct set up, he isn’t a big key position forward either.
I hope the Dogs continue to invest in the draft and not settle for recycled players from other clubs, because for the most part it hasn’t worked and always set us back for years to come.
Mastermind season review: Western Bulldogs
Have always enjoyed Italian football. While it has lost its place as the biggest and best league in the world, there is still plenty of quality football on offer.
As a Chievo supporter I am looking forward to the season as I feel we have assembled a decent squad to avoid relegation.
Our early fixture against the big clubs won’t help though.
Why Serie A is worth watching again
Thanks mate.
Some great memories over the years, terrific that it’s back in action.
My return to Footscray's Whitten Oval
Interesting read, with both teams located at the same stadium it seems logical to link up to try and boost memberships and crowd numbers.
WSW dropping away is not necessarily going to happen, if run correctly, they can stay relatively competitive.
The battle of the west: Parramatta Eels vs Western Sydney Wanderers
Thanks for the comment, Swampy.
Definitely going to be a challenge for the Toffees this season, under Martinez they look to be in good hands though. Actually realised I never mentioned Liverpool in the strengthening aspect, they have done so as well this off season.
Keeping Lukaku was important for them, let’s see if they can build off that. This season looks to be one of the best in many years.
Everton looks for top four under Martinez
Being a Bulls fan I might be biased, but I am looking forward to the new season with a healthy Rose.
The drafting of McDermott was great, add in Bairstow who might play some bench minutes, Aaron Brooks will add to the guard position and of course we don’t know what Mirotic is capable of.
If everything clicks the the Bulls will be hard to beat in the East.
As the east opens up, Bulls have a chance
A great performance from City, the build up to the game was terrific. Football fans all over Australia were eager to see the match up.
FFA Cup has brought out a much needed link to ‘old football’. May it continue.
Wanderers the first big scalp as the FFA Cup shows its romance
Hi Bondy, thanks for reading and thank you for the reply.
There is definitely something special about cup competitions and playing games at suburban grounds. Its football as it should be.
FFA Cup embraces football's family
Thanks for the reply, Midfielder.
I agree with you regarding crowd numbers, I think they will continue to grow each year.
FFA Cup embraces football's family
Thanks for the comments DT, and I agree on a lot of points.
I think Australia showed enough to suggest under Ange things will be ok, Rogic coming into the team will be a massive boost as he can play that creative midfield role and play it well.
We can only hope the likes of Leckie, Kruse etc.. kick on within the next four years and emerge at some big clubs.
The one player who I would really like to push for a place at the next world cup is Tomi Juric, he has all the tools to be a strong striker who can put the ball into the net.
Time will tell I guess.
Socceroos' silver lining: The future looks bright
Hi Gecko,
He could definitely use another key tall up forward, something the Bulldogs should be looking at when the trade period comes around. With GWS having a few in their setup the Bulldogs could look to pounce, whether or not they have the assets is another matter.
Liam Jones emerging as Bulldogs main man?
Thanks for the comment, Dons.
I actually never thought about the prospect of being the team who stopped the run, that is a good point you raise.
Celtic obviously have a much bigger war chest, but Aberdeen have been so close recently as a neutral it was exciting to watch.
Australia has always had a bit of a back and forth with players to Scotland, currently my team (Queen of the South) have a Aussie on their books. If I recall correctly, Aaron Mooy was performing very well at St Mirren and might still be held in high regard.
Long live the tragics indeed!!
