Izzy was great but not the complete fullback Burkey was. I thought Lote never looked 100% at home playing rugby despite having some great moments. I’d be very happy if we never buy an established NRL player again but sign up promising juniors and keep them.

Why the F are we trying to buy someone who is 27 and will take 2 years to come to grips with the modern game? Better to spend all this $$$ on promising junior rugby players before the NRL snaffle them. Could probably get 2-4 for the price of a 27 yrl old NRL player. And if handled properly, they could develop into next gen rugby match winners. Just more dumbassery and short sightedeness from management HQ. So sick of obvious stupidity.

Maybe the strategy is to pick a ‘young inexperienced’ coaching team who will ‘go through some rough times’ now but be brilliant by the RWC 2027. I hear their training sessions have been going real well

He is 63 and had a stroke when coaching Japan. Putting aside the anger and disappointment I feel, maybe he should do himself a favour and take a break, consider retirement or semi-retirement. He can’t be doing this for the money. Enjoy his life, maybe consult part time for a club in Japan

Upside down bizzarro world. Get League and AFL coaches for your assistant coaches. Why would you want people experienced with rugby? Leave your most experienced players out of the squad. What could they possibly have to offer? Especially for the young players replacing them. Change the team week to week. Whoever said cohesion is important? Start the most important game of the last 3 years with the least qualified player in the most (or one of the most) critical position. Game plan? Ha, give yourself and uppercut mate. I feel like a fool, I was one of the ones saying don’t be negative, give Eddie a go and get behind the team. Well we did just that. This is the worst I have ever seen the Wallabies play and I have been watching them for nearly 30 years. This was an utter crap show. Gutted.

Ireland played as a team, everyone knew their job and did it. Very impressive. Boks were very good too but Ireland disrupted them all day at the breakdown. Goalkicking the difference, wonder if Pollard will return and what they will do with Libok who (apart from goalkicking) is a superb player

Despite All Blacks being a bit below their best and Italy being their best for a long time, I could not see Italy getting within coooeee of the All Blacks, let alone score 4 tries. They needed the luck to be in Pool C or D to have a decent chance for the quarters.

Namibia have been extremely poor in all their appearances at RWC. They are obviously not making any meaningful progress. Nations that do should be rewarded.
I would much rather see USA/Canada who at least would put up a decent fight. Today’s match was little more than a training run for France and they have lost their best player, hopefully back for knockouts.

Gee I hope your’e right, Wales losing to Georgia would be a big help but I think Wales are a bit underrated. They have a sharpshooter in Dan ‘the mouth’ Biggar who can slot penalties from 50 out and drop goals if need be. They have decent attack when they choose to use it and just seem to do enough to get the job done. with the stakes high in tournament rugby with Mr Warren guiding them, I have no doubt they will do the job on Georgia and I fear it may be too late for Wallabies to pull it all together for this Monday. Wales know how they will play, what they need to do and who their team is..Wallabies – Who TF knows?

Wales seem to be able to do what they need to do though and won’t rest players for the Georgia game. They seem to have some real steel in them and aren’t quite the pushovers they used to be

And as great a player as Kerevei has been, anyone with a modest amount of rugby nous could see he was well below his best in the warm up matches and at the RWC. Coming back from an ACL and based on his performances this year, it was extremely poor decision making to put him in the run on team and expect him to be playing at his peak. He has been quite ineffectual at Test level
