This team would be far better. 1 of those players is ineligible due to discrimination from RU. The 5 others would be a massive boost. I would also include QC as reserve 10.

Would bringing back Wallabies from overseas actually make a difference?

If you were to pick an Australian 15 from anywhere in the world, who would you pick and why?

Works well for the Socceroos. The A league will never be able to match payments overseas. Likewise super rugby will never match the $ overseas.

Goodbye Giteau Law? RA set to scrap controversial rule

There is a big difference in a player or coach criticizing a referee to a member of the public or journalist criticizing a referee. Fans have always aired their opinion. Players and coaches are meant to play the game and respect the referee despite their opinions. They are not meant to sway the referee.

How Rassie Erasmus (over)ruled World Rugby in the second Test

How much influence does coaches comments have on referees and the game? It seems like penalties are awarded in scrums based on perception of dominance. 50/50 calls often seem to favour players with high regard and teams with favourable reputation. Is this reality or just fans being one eyed?

To be competitive against teams like France, should over player be coached to dive or stay on the ground? If Tate McDermott remained on the ground for a minute the Frenchman would have been sent off. Should our players be coached to play, not according to Rugby rules, but according to the Ref? e.g French illegally coming in on the breakdown with hands on ground etc, and defending consistently off side? It seems the all blacks are expert at playing the ref, in these areas, as opposed to playing the rules of the game. I also note that many SA sides at restarts love to run in front of the kicker, often 5m in front and there are no penalties, but massive advantages in regaining ball. Are the better sides, better coached at studying the ref pre game and playing according to their interpretations of laws? A good example would be in the World cup where we had a Wallaby sent off with an elbow to the throat, but if you play under last week’s ref, this is acceptable and condoned. Should the coaches study in detail, the ref and make game plans according to how that type of rugby should be played?

much better line up. I would have replaced Gordon with Powell, Hodge to start at 15 and Slipper with Robertson.

Youth group: Wallabies name four inside backs with just 17 caps between them

chocolate soldiers
the candy men can
Optimistic Wallabies: Not just half full or half empty, but a glass and a half
Should have been Mars bar: so we can work rest and play
Should have happened last world cup: Chieka’s chocos
Does this mean after each game their is placement of Cadbury chocolate bars in front of the players and coach? Nah, seriously, all good. 👍

Wouldn't it be nice: Rugby AU gets new jersey sponsor for Wallabies and Wallaroos

Who would you pick for our Wallaby starting 15 and why?

Get your questions in for Issue 11 of Coach's Corner

of course we will, but probably in a few years. Every time the Bledisloe comes around we keep talking ourselves up then get belted. Better to be realistic in where we stand and give it our best shot.

Will the Wallabies ever win the bloody Bledisloe?

Who would you recommend as the to 3 candidates for the Waratah’s job and why?

Just think …what if we picked both openers who are in form and can score runs…….Never mind. It’s not about winning. It is all about choosing the best performers of yesteryear and hoping they can pull form out of a hat. If they don’t then it doesn’t matter because it is about who plays, not how good they currently are. 🏏

Australia fall agonisingly short in second T20 despite Stoinis heroics

Eliud Kipchoge

The GOAT: Who really is the greatest athlete of our generation?

Insanity is repeating the same behaviour expecting different results. An insane selector is picking a player out of form and expecting form. Also, a cricket team is a balance with batters, bowlers and wicketkeeper. Yesterday we were stacked with bowlers and light on batsmen.

When does Aaron Finch’s form become a World Cup worry?

Darrell Eastlake did not have that much insight into rugby league, but he is the man who made orign games more exciting. A good caller has passion. As the other big man used to say, Go you good thing!”

Nine and Stan's rugby commentary team has finally been confirmed

identity is the key. 2 teams from Melbourne and 2 from Sydney divide loyalty. Better to have 1 Sydney Team: the 6’s and the other Country NSW. The same with Melbourne. Melbourne Stars and Country Vic. That way country NSW games can play in Newcastle and other major country towns, and Vic Country can play in Geelong and other country towns.
Canberra would be a good addition. Other possibilities could be Darwin.
I agree less is better. It dragged on for far too long. The x factor rule was useless. They must bring in reviews. 🏏

The BBL needs fewer matches – but more teams

Wally was never the fittest in league and relied on his League IQ to win origins and make a massive difference. It is people like Lewis who have an excellent idea of any game.

Nine and Stan's rugby commentary team has finally been confirmed

I reckon Wally Lewis would do a great job. He was a Schoolboy rugby Australian rep and his experience in the media would help.

Mehrtens is one of the best. He has great insight and sharp wit.

That is exactly what the problem is today. Free speech does not exist. Anyone with an opinion other than the narrative is demeaned and on many media, excluded.

Israel Folau is reportedly on the verge of an NRL comeback

yes you are right. The same thing has happened in England where Soccer is a working man’s game with mega rich owning teams and players getting wages that make our highest paid look like paupers in comparison. Many sports have these images and fantasies of class, however reality is that most elite players, coaches and CEO’s of major sports are filthy rich and very upper class.

Israel Folau is reportedly on the verge of an NRL comeback

I don’t believe it is racism. You are correct. Some others may believe so. The fact is the current narrative is all about Black Lives Matter, yet his life does not matter so much and it is acceptable for the media to slander him accusing him of hating gays when he never said nor intended that, and sport tries to ban him based on his beliefs.

Israel Folau is reportedly on the verge of an NRL comeback

Cameron Smith was on a wage of $1 million a year, just like JT. Many NRL players are on wages in excess of 1/2 million a year. That is upper class that most of us dream of earning. The NRL CEO is on over $1 million a year. Many NRL clubs are very wealthy. There are numerous wealthy upper class people in the NRL. If we judge class on income, then Rugby league and AFL are the upper class codes and Rugby the Aussie battlers.

Israel Folau is reportedly on the verge of an NRL comeback

When you get a mega rich Hollywood celeb buying a fledging NRL side, you are only talking about 1 class!

Israel Folau is reportedly on the verge of an NRL comeback

Fake. He never posted anti gay messages. He posted messages about repenting and turning one’s life to God. He posted positive messages about eternal life. He never said he hates gays. Show me evidence where he said he hates gays and you are right. If not, it is slander and vilification based on his faith. We should be supporting people, not harrassing or demeaning them with hatful bigotry, because every black life matters, not just those who are woke.
