CS. I heard he was offered peanuts to stay, so the offer to go was obviously better for him. Sad though being a local and very good. As I said, the culture is pretty poor at the Tahs.

As a coach Darren Coleman got the wooden spoon, as a bloke he's a bloody legend

I disagree. If players are honestly interviewed, I think you’ll find that DC was the problem. Many are leaving. Why? If it was a strong culture and a great coaching staff, players would want to stay. Everyone loves a feel good story but DC failed as a coach. Simple. How Harrison is let go and wanting to go overseas is a classic example. Great young player although injured unfortunately but cast adrift. The culture at the Waratahs is a huge problem. As a player at the Tahs, you’d want to know who your coach is next year? They don’t. Not good enough.

Quade may not be interested in coaching but if he could teach young backs what he knows, he would be a valuable asset to young Wallabies.

'Of course I want to': Why Quade Cooper thinks Joe Schmidt will be right to ignore him for Test duty

Ken. With regard to the 3 amigos, I remember reading that if they were in the All Blacks set up and did some of the things they got up to when in the Wallabies they would have been sorted out quick smart by the senior players. Something like… “ Boys .. come down the back of the bus”! I blame our senior players at the time for not bringing all 3 into line ….because heaven knows they all had great rugby skills.

“ reasonable” …. I wouldn’t say that. We gave away too many penalties. Agree to disagree.

Although as Cooper said “ Because the pack is the most important thing.” At the RWC our forwards were comprehensively outplayed. So, would Cooper have made a difference? I definitely think he should have gone to mentor Carter and Donno though.

Very good Ken! Is there anything better than rugby?

Your response BM? The silence is deafening.

CONFIRMED: RA axe Rebels from Super Rugby, shocked players told news in meeting with Waugh and Herbert

Pulver and Clyne were two very poor Rugby Australia administrators… extremely poor. Took plenty of money in their pay packets though!

So, would 95% of kids play AFL or 99%?

Not that it would have mattered but they should have been the Victorian Rebels? Every other franchise is a state based team.

Phil… very few people support rugby in Vic. AFL is a monster.

‘Young gun’ … haven’t seen him firing many bullets yet. Hopefully Friday night.

Super Rugby teams R15: Reds near full strength, Paddy Ryan answers Tah SOS, Force's Donno blow, Kels on the wing

Poor old Harro. Local Sydney boy, at one stage the hope of a Wallaby jersey beckoned and the Tah pin up boy during our winless run, discarded. Not the only Tah leaving. Tane not yet resigned either? I reckon he’s glad to be out of that mess.

Fair enough although the games where he didn’t play well coincides with the Force pack getting flogged. The Reds blitzed it in the forwards last weekend and had about 80 percent of the ball. Beale has definitely helped him though with his talk and experience at the back.

Matt To'omua's Wallabies team vs Wales: Weakness Lynagh must fix before Test debut, new role for Wright

You could be right there Ken although apart from his goal kicking I’m just not sold on Noah. Although he will have a combination with White and Wright who I suspect will be 9 and 15? Carter and Donno have some speed which is a quality that Noah doesn’t. As we all eagerly awaited the Wallabies under EJ, now we all are awaiting the ‘new ‘ Schmidt era. Will be interesting… he could even bring Quade back as a mentor?

Matt To'omua's Wallabies team vs Wales: Weakness Lynagh must fix before Test debut, new role for Wright

CM. Isn’t a 10’s main role to organise his backs in attacking raids to score tries?

Matt To'omua's Wallabies team vs Wales: Weakness Lynagh must fix before Test debut, new role for Wright

Yes. Many seem obsessed with a 10’s defence. Quade Cooper, imho, one of our best 10’s in a gold jersey, was not renowned for his defence. As you say, Gordon and Donaldson are quite speedy and have shown this in making breaks. Noah, Edmed and Lynagh aren’t in the ‘fast’ ranks that is for sure. I’m looking forward to an attacking backs coach as head of the Wallabies though, who has assembled some great forward coaches as well. We can only improve in this new era, that is for sure. EJ had a less than impressive coaching staff which showed at the RWC. You need good coaching to get players playing better.

RTT. ‘Your Wallabies’? Wallaby capped 59 times for his country V an anonymous Roarer? Mmmm. I’m sure Schmidt’s side won’t be far off Matt’s. I suspect Donaldson will be in. Lynagh not ready, Edmed not good enough. Carter will be picked in squad I’m sure but as Matt explains, Donaldson kicks better and can play both 10 and 15. Playing in a beaten side for most of the season doesn’t help but has shown some great form throughout the season.

You’re right. But the Reds were pretty disappointing in Perth earlier in the year too. Everyone forgets that.

Cron delivers withering one-liner after Force flop, ducks Beale question as Reds run riot

Piru. Surely you don’t read into any of his comments as illuminating?

The Wrap: Is Australian rugby about to throw a whole heap of valuable coaching IP out the window?

Bodger. I think it is what Clash was referring to. ‘Lynagh has jumped both current Wallabies after one half decent game!’ You’re on drugs. I suspect in a year or two with some bulk added and more experience he may wear the green and gold. I very much doubt it will be this year. The Reds had 70 percent of the ball so that probably was a little help don’t you think?

‘Instead of complaining, perhaps the best way for the Chiefs to put this loss behind them is to familiarise themselves with the time-honoured creed, ‘what goes around comes around’. Or better still Geoff, have referees understand that if someone is pinned with zero chance of getting out and the attacking team has access to the ball , play on! Awarding a match defining penalty like that is to me ludicrous and simply should not happen. A penalty should only be awarded if the player on the ground affects the attacking team getting the ball out.

Dandaman. So if Joe picks him is he a dope?

'His decision making is exceptional': Lynagh masterclass, Ryan hat-trick as future Wallabies help Reds stomp Force

WEvans. Your opinion. Joe’s the coach. Lynagh may very well become a Test player but I very much doubt it will be this year. Again with the amount of ball the Reds provided I reckon a bloke by the name of WEvans would have had a good game at 10! Young Ryan is a player to watch though definitely. Roar on.
