RD . Clearly you are joking or on drugs.

The five candidates for the Wallabies No.10 jersey - and the old heads who may sneak in to join them

Yes understand that however Noah wasn’t outstanding in his 17 Tests. France series was their 3rd string side , not their best. He has been in a side or two that have beaten NZ but we haven’t touched the Bledisloe yet! I honestly don’t think any of our 10’s have knocked the lights out. Hopefully Joe can get the best out of them!

CS. The Messiah by ‘learned’ Roarers. He’s a solid player but imho does not do enough with his backline. Pretty slow too. Good kicker so who knows. I don’t personally think he is a Test player. Playing for Australia A was not great.

OO. Lynagh is ‘not Test standard’ either. Way too young and will develop in time. Renny and Jones disagree with you re Donaldson. Let’s wait to see what Schmidt thinks.

John . Where do you get these numbers? What I have seen of Lolesio he is hardly a great defender? Statistics are not always what is.

How do you know that out of curiosity? His side in Japan isn’t winning much.

Never thought he was anything special personally.

John. It will be Lolesio, Gordon and Donaldson in the first squad. Lynagh too young, Edmed not in the same class. As for the 3 amigos and Foley…. I just don’t see Schmidt picking those guys. Past it. Lolesio offers not a lot of playmaking but gets in on his goal kicking. Remember he has had the luxury of playing behind arguably Australia’s best pack. Gordon has natural ability albeit kicking is a worry. Donaldson struggling behind a beaten pack and goal kicking percentage not great. Hopefully a calm and experienced coach can get all 3 to be better players.

I think JOC has plans to play for a Kiwi franchise?

I think you may be right. Hopefully not.

Lolesio out injured? Or being ‘rotated’ to give Debreczeni some time. Thought he would at least be on the bench. Spink for the Force on the bench too.

Sportsbet had the Force at $17 for a win!

CS. Hopefully although I think DC has thrown him under a fast moving bus.

Joey. Not sure I agree. Lynagh has played well in parts but has still plenty to learn. I think all of our tens have played well in parts but none have really shot the lights out.

The five Aussie young guns who should be celebrated - and the one who is ready for the Wallabies

Savant. Lynagh has plenty of time to move up but I doubt it will be this year.

Come on Mike. You know all Roarers are ‘experts’ ! Joe Schmidt doesn’t look here for advice thank God otherwise Australian rugby would be in even more trouble! I too think Donaldson has played well this year, combining with White in a much less stronger squad than other franchises. Tough game against the Chiefs this week for the Force. No doubt Chief number 6 Finau will be looking to add Donaldson to his late hit list of another 10 on the weekend!

MrE. Noah and Tom are not better tacklers than Gordon, doesn’t matter what statistics you throw up. I’ve seen Noah as a turnstile on numerous occasions. Not so Gordon. Having said that a 10 doesn’t have to be some super tackler.

The five Aussie young guns who should be celebrated - and the one who is ready for the Wallabies

Statistics are all meaningless unless broken down specifically and compared like with like. Take goal kicking . A player could have a 50% success rate by making 10 from 20 shots all from the sideline while another player has a 95% success rate but the majority of his kicks are close to the posts. As someone has said a player could make 4 out of 5 tackles in an easy situation or another player 1 from 10 trying to stop Tupou 5 m out. I think people that love statistics don’t take this on board.

Exactly CS. More specific… just one Roarer waffling on his bandwagon to another waffling on HIS bandwagon! You often wonder sometimes whether some Roarers ever played the game! Really like the look of Schmidt so far as opposed to the mad person we can’t speak of. Bring on more rugby. We may just bring the Bledisloe back this year..OK…. I said it.

Why Schmidt isn't sweating about Wallabies star's cross-code temptation

Lynagh? You’re joking surely. Zero chance of a Wallaby call up this year.

Why Schmidt isn't sweating about Wallabies star's cross-code temptation

Why are we talking about Lynagh now? He is way too early to be talked up in Wallaby circles. Hardly shooting the lights out.

Wallabies' young gun mulling NRL switch as Rebels' future continues to cloud picture

Cec. In fairness to all the young 10’s, none have shot the lights out and claimed the position as theirs. As you say though, a goal kicker is needed who is reliable at Test level. Will be interesting to see who Schmidt picks in his squad. I just don’t rate young Noah as a great 10. Great goal kicker yes. Maybe young Harrison will sneak in under all of their guards with some good performances. Tough ask at an average Waratah team with a tough few last games to come.

Is a 10’s main role defence? QC and Foley were hardly great defenders yet played a lot of Tests.

Noah leading tackle? Is that attempted tackles!
